  7. The general feeling from rm.lol

It occurred to me that as a 3rd division club, we are experiencing something which is novel and refreshing.

I am referring to the excitement of the cup, as in all honesty the 3rd division matches are not terribly exciting. The Motherwell game was the best game yet by a long way (They were 2nd in the SPL at the time I think), and the United game is a very exciting prospect for a fair few reasons…

The league is in the bag, the cup is a shot at glory indeed! That and a chance to send a strong message to the f****n lot of them. I am really excited about Saturday!

I edited the usual expletives that is used on their sites.

  10. The Bhoy Jinky

Re Sheridan , I always thought we got rid of him too early.

We allegedly sold him for £300k , and bought Darryl Murphy for £1.5 m.

I suspect that by the age of 28 /29 Cillian will be one of those guys who regularly scores 20 ish a season , and you will think could he do it at Celtic …a bit like Jon Daly , or , many years ago Owen Coyle.

    Super Sutton,

When Izzy went off , I expected either Joe L at left side of midfield , or Rogne in at centre back with Mulgrew to left wing back.

The decision to move Big Vic, back meant we had a central midfielder paying in a back three, and nearly half the team playing out of position. As a result, the result at a couple of points looked edgy, and it wasn’t until the 4th goal was scored and we went 3:1 up, that I felt comfortable.

  11. From RFC official s(h)ite:

CHARLES GREEN insists the time has come to heal wounds rather than allow rifts to continue growing for the sake of saving Scottish football.

Member clubs of the SPL and SFL are both due to meet next week and the prospect of league reconstruction will be discussed at each of those gatherings.

A proposed 12-12-18 system is up for debate, although a 14-14-14 model mooted by Green is one which appears to be favoured by some.

The last 12 months have undoubtedly been the most turbulent in Rangers’ history and when their financial problems came to light, the negative reactions of some to that caused surprise.

Now, however, Light Blues chief executive Green is focused on moving forward rather than dwelling on what has gone on before for the good of the game here as a whole.

Gers will travel to Dundee United on Scottish Cup business next weekend without taking any fans with them, the reasons for that having been made clear.

After the match is finished, the Yorkshireman is keen to draw a line under past events and made positive strides with Gers at the forefront.

Green said: “We made a stand as far as the Dundee United game is concerned and I’ve said to the fans and FA that as far as I’m concerned, it was for other reasons.

“It’s not because Dundee United are an SPL club. There were a number of factors – the fans voted and the club decided to back its fans.

“That is exactly the right thing to do and that is why when supporters of other clubs last year spoke to their chairmen, they listened to them and that’s why we’re in the Third Division.

“Where we are now though with league reconstruction is that Scottish football is in a mess. If it isn’t fixed, there won’t be any Scottish football.

“We have to heal the wounds. We are Rangers and we are better than these others who would carry on doing crazy things.

“We have shown the whole world how different we are by filling this stadium with 48,000 and 49,000 people when SPL clubs can’t fill their stadium. Nobody can do it.

“Let’s be really clear. We have already shown our message and what I want to do now is continue doing that and whatever league we’re in, I want Rangers fans to turn up.

“They should come in their thousands and not just to line the pockets of Rangers or Charles Green. I think people accept it’s not about lining Charles Green’s pocket now.

“What I want them to do is show the world what a great club can do and we can make that difference.”

Green’s suggested 14-14-14 format is something which has been welcomed by senior figures both at SPL and SFL levels.

And the more he speaks to his counterparts elsewhere, the less convinced he is the 12-12-18 shape is one clubs will vote favourably for.

Green added: “When Stewart Regan, Neil Doncaster and David Longmuir stood on the steps at Hampden and had their picture taken, the Three Musketeers were saying it was 12-12-18.

“Of course, what came out of that – even before I raised my head above the parapet – was that some of the other clubs didn’t fancy that.

“The 14-14-14 suggestion has got backers now and we know some of the SPL clubs are interested in that. Lots of the Scottish Football League clubs are interested too.

“I think it’s going to be very interesting when on Monday the SPL clubs meet then the SFL clubs meet later in the week.

“These potential changes or variations to the 12-12-18 idea will, I’m sure, be discussed by both groups.

“It’s a really difficult call to say whether that impetus will fall away or whether it is gathering momentum.

“I don’t have dialogue with SPL clubs but I do with SFL clubs and as we go to different clubs, we are engaging and sharing views. I’m not convinced 12-12-18 is a slam dunk.”

Claims he wants to heal the wounds rather than allow rifts to grow.

What a joke of a man!

If you want to heal the wounds, how about you stop threatening boycotts, stop bullying wee clubs just because they speak the truth.

If you want to heal the wounds, try being conciliatory instead of pandering to the most extreme elements at your club.
