Here’s a copy and paste from our website……..

Extending Fraser’s contract for an extra two years was a great piece of business.

Impresses me every time I watch him. Strong, athletic and reads the game really well. He’s got so much potential, considering he’s only 20 years old.

To think we’ve had Fenlon and Fraser both play right back for us this season, that’s a ridiculous difference in quality.

One of our best signings this season. Great young player.

Marcus loves playing with his best mate Jackson, and under the tutelage of Petec’s mate James MacIntyre. My sister has a season book at Celtic, but she has been in Dingwall more than Paradise this year. :)

    Leigh Griffiths scores second-half hat-trick

Kris Commons cancels out Darryl Westlake opener

Celtic move eight points clear at top of table

Leigh Griffiths came off the bench to score a hat-trick as Celtic saw off Kilmarnock to move eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Darryl Westlake had shocked Celtic Park with his first goal for Kilmarnock, a thumping shot from outside the box that deflected past Craig Gordon.

Kris Commons soon restored parity before Griffiths headed Celtic in front.

As Kilmarnock’s defence opened up, Griffiths added two more late on.

The three points provide another big step towards the league title for Ronny Deila’s men, with three more wins guaranteeing the title.

It also boosts hopes of a domestic treble and, with Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in mind, Deila made four changes.

They did not affect Celtic’s fluency in the early stages with relentless pressure, but Kilmarnock goalkeeper Craig Samson was largely untroubled, a wasted John Guidetti free-kick the best the hosts could muster.

Virgil van Dijk rose unchallenged to meet a driven Commons corner in a move straight off the training ground, but Celtic’s Dutch defender could not direct his header on target.

Guidetti was guilty of passing up a chance when he tried to be too fancy instead of shooting first time and James Forrest eventually curled the lay-off wide.

Celtic needed to up the pace in the second half, but it was Kilmarnock who hit them with a sucker punch.

Westlake hit a shot from outside the area that took a large deflection off a Celtic defender and looped over Gordon to give the Ayrshire men the lead.

Kilmarnock players celebrate after Darryl Westlake gave them the lead

However, Celtic were soon level. Sammy Clingan could not get the ball cleared and Adam Matthews fed Commons, who fired a left-foot shot into the top corner.

Falling behind at home had woken the hosts up and it was not long until it was 2-1.

Griffiths arrived on the scene at the half-hour mark and he made a stunning impact.

First, Commons got to the bye-line and chipped into the box for Griffiths, who had a simple header past Samson.

Then Griffiths fired a low shot that spun off the post and over the line.

Scotland goalkeeper Gordon still had work to do at then other end, pulling off a great save to deny Nathan Eccleston.

It was at the back where the visitors needed to be strong, however, as their early defensive prowess was being undone.

Griffiths completed his hat-trick after he burst in behind the defence and added a cool finish.

    Delaney’s dunky,

    Is this your brother mentioned?

    Copy and paste……………………

I was speaking to his dad at the game last night and he was saying how much Marcus was enjoying playing for us. He also reminded me that he came on as a second half sub at centre half for Glen Loovens in Celtic’s 3-1 victory against Rennes in the UEFA Cup in November 2011 aged 17. My recollection is that he did very well but no I am not proposing trying him there in place of Boydy.

Gone quiet on her now so, if OHITS or ACGR are looking in………..and of course Delaney…

I’ve been to only a couple of games this season through circumstances.

I counted that of the first 100 days of this year I’ve slept in my own bed 19.

Two trips to West Africa saw to that,

But now I’ve taken a job at home again.

Last couple of weeks in Aiberdeen, going to Holland in the early morning….but as of Monday – home for the next year anyway.

Hope TF we won’t be in the play-offs!!

Officers made the discovery on a farm on the outskirts of Milngavie.

A 21-year-old man was detained yesterday and police said they were “following a definite line of enquiry”.

So sad, after a brilliant evening we had to face this. God bless her parents and family, and, well, maybe I’m now thinking about capital punishment. There appear to be more killings now where the victim is a female. Not wanting to start a sexist debate, but police, child abuse and child killings, ffs, what kind of society are we wanting to abide in. Thankfully, I won’t have to live in it as long as you ghuys. I know what kind of society I would vote for, but the doooooo goooooooders who see gooood in every murderer, thug and burglar in the country will have their final say. Step forth, Ernie.

Whether it’s the governing bodies who treat us with contempt, the media that thinks we’ll swallow anything or the Sevco fans who really do believe that “it’s all about the Rangers”, Scottish football is filled to the rafters with folk who don’t understand that the rest of us want to watch our clubs in an environment which isn’t bent, run by people who care about its greater good.

The “Fit and proper test” should be carried out at Hampden.

If they ever move offices the who strutted will need to be fumigated such is the stench of corruption that reeks through the corridors of power.

  18. Awe_Naw_No_Annoni_Oan_Anaw_Noo on

As I was saying yesterday Scottish football is only about maximising profits for the Old Firm with the rest only too happy to take the handouts offered. Even if it means fuxking over the minority shareholders. Res 12. Fuxking over the turnstile fodder is not a consideration in the grand scheme of things. Fuxking over lesser members. See TV scheduling. See Livi. Fuxking over the actual rules of the game. Even footballing bodies The SL.

I dont know why they dont just computer simulate it and charge all the numpties even more for the corrupt product that passes for Scottish football. Think of the entertainment possibilities for all the dumb asses (you btw) who are still contributing financially. Fantastic players, perfect pitches, end to end enthralling matches. An even split in success between the Old Firm, why you could even tailor those parameters for the sake of market forces.

KPI’s would always be met as it would be under complete control with no games needing cancelled.

The only problem would be to convince the paying public that the 3D specs would be necessary, easy make it an offensive act not to wear them.

  26. Good Morning CQN

Couldn’t sleep this morning. Woke at 4am to empty my bladder and been wide awake ever since. Wired I think it may be called. Midweek game last night so I was unable to get along but a cracking result. The team are almost over the line and that can be the trickiest part of the season. Job was done. Score line is nice but the points are important. Fair play to Aberdeen for keeping it competitive as they may well have assisted us in securing the treble by meaning we have no meaningless games before the split and switching off like we had done in recent years under Neil Lennon when exiting Europe. I don’t think that was Neil’s fault just the players attitude. They possibly just took their foot aff the gas. Just my thoughts anyway.

I was reading back last nights comments and had a wee chuckle to masel.

Leigh Griffiths was a player I backed for a fair few months on here after he signed. Once they pull the Hoops on they get the support and backing. They are one of us and you protect and support your own.

It amazes me in recent years the supports fascination with an exotic named forward from a far off land. There is an excitement behind any player with a serious of vowels in their surname and a catchy first name that can be abbreviated and shouted rather than a full second name.

It mystifies me that we are still being mugged like this. Leigh Griffiths scored over 30 goals for a below average Hibs side. They were relegated after he left. He carried them to a Scottish cup final. He was the victim of the worst bullying of any player in recent history in Edinburgh and was falsely accused of stealing which he did not do from Corstorphine Tesco. He supports Hibs, he enjoys the company of a lady, he is young and daft, he enjoys a tunnocks tea cake and is fertile as they come.

What has never been in doubt with Leigh is his ability to find the net. He is probably the only left footed player in Scotland not to have his left foot described as being able to open a tin of beans, a wand of a left peg, etc. All terms I can’t stand to be honest but another observation.

Leigh has had to grow as a person, he has done that, he has had to train harder, he has done that, he has had to win over the Celtic support, I think he has managed that.

When Celtic sign any player like fans of most clubs the YouTube recce gets done. A serious of clips from the 100+ games a player has played. Sometimes these clips will be bounce matches, friendlies or even reserve/youth games. People then get excited about the player on the back of it. People have no idea of the standard of opposition and whether this is common place for the player or a once in a million 35 yard strike akin to Bertie Bombscare at Hampden against us (shudder).

Do yourself a favour if you haven’t at anytime in the past look up all Leigh’s Hibs goals, look at the goals he scored for Dundee and Livi. He is much better in the air than he gets credit for. He is lethal within a 35 yard distance from goal. If you were pleased and a bit excited after his goals last night you will realise more is to come when you refresh your memory on what he done at Hibs, Dundee and Livi. This guy is not an angel. He has been silly. He is starting his life education now. Only he can now blow it. If he keeps progressing he is a steal for the money he cost. Play him week in and week out. The captures of Griffiths, GMS & Armstrong have proven that buying foreign names is not always the answer. A Naka, Lubo, Henke, Majllby, etc are quality additions. Just padding the squad out is really no good at all. The one thing these Scottish lads have in abundance apart from their obvious talent is hunger and I don’t mean for tea cakes. They are hungry to play, hungry to score and hungry to succeed. I will take that everyday of the week for Celtic over a foreign player.

Speaking of hunger incredible effort from the support as always for the food bank donation, there is a great need to feed people who can’t feed themselves.

People can be sceptics about food banks and can also question what people are spending their benefits on. That is their prerogative.

People are hungry. You feed them. The government need to work out why they are hungry and address it. While people need food they should be given it. We are a simple people. We support a football club. The values of that football club are aligned to most of our own if not all our own values. It’s easy for us as a support to then become immersed in all things Celtic and the time most of us spend on here is a testament to that. What is clear is that this football club was set up to provide dinner tables to children, long term goal was to support the needy in the east end of Glasgow. Brother Walfrid did not ask how much they had and how much was spent on tobacco and whisky.

People who could afford to buy extra food did so and took it to a football stadium in the east end of Glasgow last night. This stadium was built by the fans money. It is ours. Nobody will ever take that from us. The food was to be given to those who can for whatever reason not afford at this time to buy some.

The very same people who took the food along last night may have had ancestors who dined at the tables provided by fans in the 1800’s by Brother Walfrid. Never question people who want to give to charity and never question the people receiving such charity. It’s easy to look on from the outside and think aye well they must have enough to buy food but we have no right to judge and no idea how difficult it must be to go to a foodbank to feed your children.

Very pleased and proud of my club and our fans the last 24 hours.

Very busy at work these days and a big wedding tomorrow for my wee Jambo pal. I may look in later.

    God bless
