Playing for a division 1 German team in their stadium , a pity their own club wouldn’t allow it.

The st pauli bhoys do their own thing..the rebels choice background says it all.

Our board are bunch of wimps . Shit feared of the establishment .

Mind stumbling in to a hertz pub before a game at Swinecastle. 4of us, and about 20 minutes before kick off. My mate went to get beers, and I thought we better double up. It’s about 8 deep at the bar, and I knew 3 of the pints, but didn’t know what my mates brother drunk. So I shouts his name back in to the bar over a sea of heads and asks him, he was a bit of a mental case and fearless, and he says “lager”, then he notices its McEwans, and shouts back ” aw naw, it’s that proddie lager, make it cider”. About 300 jambos between him and me look round towards the bar…….. So did I. :-)))

I have been more feart, but cannae remember when right now.

Pre season friendly game at Celtic Park?

Jock introduced us to total football……………..

Later adopted by and claimed by

    the Dutch.

    Total football……………………..Lisbon Lions.

    The prime example.

BTW What kind of football are we playing today?

    Pragmatic,but somehow boring.

    None of this matters,however.

We have to cope with the unending shame of having TORIES ON THE BOARD.

Some of our supporters wouldn`t understand “All inclusive” until they were excluded ……………

    Like Catholics at Ibrox.

  9. Bankier is a banker. No way back for him or Lord Hee Haw. When they speak about the lifeblood of the club, the fans, as beneath them they need to go, now. When we should be united and at the top if our game they have divided us and into range if our enemies. Shocker.

  10. From the Herald in 1993

ELGIN City are considering an appeal following the Highland League

management committee’s decision that has left the Highland League

without champions for the first time in its 100 years history.

Ben Strachan, secretary of the club, said yesterday that the Highland

League management committee had not contacted Elgin City prior to

Thursday’s meeting and they were unaware of the allegations being made

    against the club.

He added that once Elgin City have been informed of the rules they

have broken and the penalties imposed he will call a special meeting of

the committee of the club to discuss possible grounds for an appeal to

    the SFA.

Elgin City were stripped of the League title after it emerged they had

fielded two players, including player-manager John Teasdale, in last

    Friday’s rearranged game against Forres.

The players would have been ineligible if the game had been played the

next day as scheduled because of disciplinary action imposed by the SFA.

The Highland League also levied the maximum fine of #500 and demanded

the return of the championship trophy and the players medals.

The #1000 due to Elgin as champions, title pointage and top scorers’

bonuses will all be withheld. Cove and Caley, both vying for the

runner-up spot, agreed they did not want to win the league by default.

Cove chairman Alan McRae insisted: ”We wouldn’t want to win the

championship that way. We want to win it on our own merits. The title

has to be won by gaining enough points and we failed to do that.

”This is a sad day for everyone concerned. It is a sad day for the

Highland League in its centenary year, it is a sad day for Elgin City, a

club which is also celebrating its centenary and it is a sad day for the

    people of Elgin.

”As far as we are concerned the championship is won by the team with

the highest number of points and that was Elgin. The committee made

their very difficult decision after thinking it through carefully and

although no one is happy about it we will abide by it.”

He stressed that Cove at no stage had made any protest about the

situation and had no plans to appeal. As far as they were concerned the

sad affair was at an end.

Jim Falconer, secretary of Caledonian football club, said: ”At no

time did we complain about Elgin’s actions. We are just very

disappointed with the whole affair and how it reflects on the Highland

    League.”

Bill Campbell, president of the Highland League, said ”Some people

may think that we have been a bit harsh by declaring the title null and

void but Elgin City knew exactly what they were doing. We feel that by

this action we have restored the credibility of the Highland League.”

Meanwhile, the man at the centre of the row, Elgin player manager John

Teasdale, angrily insisted: ”I won’t quit. I have broken no rules.”

Teasdale is adamant that the only reason he brought Forres game

forward by 24 hours was to allow his players to rest for a day before an

end-of-season friendly against Dundee and accused other clubs of being

    motivated by ”jealousy’.

He said: ”I brought the game forward to the Friday night so my

players could rest. We were thumped 9-0 by Dundee earlier in the season

and I wanted to make sure we gave a good account of ourselves on the

Sunday. I hope the club lodge the strongest possible appeal.”

The SFA said that unless Elgin City decided to appeal against the

decision of the League it was unlikely they would take the matter

further unless aspects of the case emerged which they had not yet heard

    about.

Their spokesman said the club had the right to appeal to the

  11. I dont know the answer but, I believe it lies in the hands of some form of marriage between – The Magnificent Green Brigade whom, I’ve said often enough on here that the GB are ‘thee’ last remaining shred of Celticness at Celtic Park these days and, the hard working and much more than that – Celtic Trust.

The great minds / hearts / wonderment that these two ‘Celtic’ organisations can bring to the table should….imho….be somehow, moulded / mixed to produce the type of magical formula that only Celtic supporters should be associated with.

For example…the ‘magical’ display of tifo from the Geen Brigade in their own time and, all off their own backs in the never to be forgotten victory over Barcelona, whilst….behind their backs….Celtic’s hierarchy were handing their addresses to Focus for singing some song that can be bought in a store in the shopping centre so that, the board…rather than fight the fans corner…got an easy life from the establishment.

It’s enough to make yer heart feel sick.

I’m no wordsmith, nor am I a mug.

Fergus tried to take me for a mug.

Brian Dempsey cut the chord because Fergus took all Celtic shareholders for mugs.

Celtic’s stadium….CL nights apart, disny have a heart beat…the Green Brigade apart.

The Jungle flowed with pish but, it had a heart and soul that, Mr Stein and his Lion’s gave theirs for.

The Celtic rune-stones have foretold that…..

The Green Brigade and, The Celtic Trust are a Celtic marriage made in heaven.

Going away now….to pray that it happens.

    Celtic Supporters – YNWA.

    …..Off oot….

  12. That should have read that…..

The Green Brigade and, The Celtic Trust should be in control of Celtic FC.

  13. The Green Brigade and, The Celtic Trust should be in control of Celtic FC.

Laugh out loud moment there indeed.

All we need is a fan’s representative on the board, basically just to give them the true reflection of the support.

  14. My friends in Celtic,

Again thanks for the updates during the game. In particular GG as always.

All on here want the best for Celtic, bar none I would think. The acute differences are how do we achieve that.

Times have changed. Football is now global. We can watch any game ( Including our own ) from the comfort of our living rooms or down the pub. That is the competion we face in frankly an unattractive league that has been blighted by cheats.

Even if we had the fab Inesta in our team we would struggle to fill our stadium.

The only constant is my admiration for the fans who make the effort.

For many of our lapsed or ex fans if you like, I dont think that anything we do in domestic Scottish football will bring them back.

The real challenge for our board, over-riding everything is to find a path to a better league.

Incidentally, Great post by Tontine Tim last night @ 09.34 hours. Totally agree with his sentiments.
