We’re doing our best mate. Contrary to spurious posts on here our intentions are what we perceive to be in the best interests of Celtic.

I don’t doubt your integrity for a second but that’s an old firm comment from you. At the Celtic Trust we genuinely concern ourselves with Celtic issues .

    ===============================================================

Impossible to dissociate Celtic issues from Rangers issues.

    You surely know that.

The attention given on this blog to hun issues surely puts that fact beyond doubt.

Impossible, that is, until the demise of Rangers.

    No matter.

Navel gazing won`t get rid of the hun.

Is there any Celtic issue more important than that?

    Focus on the big hoose.

tegards = regards. I have lived through the Terry Cassidy then that ex commentator, but Bankier and Livingston have really scunnered me. That was my view before yesterday

  4. A bit of free PR advice for Ian Bankier

    1) Stop digging

    2) issue a statement along the lines of ‘ after due consideration, and having recognise X the passionate views of the Celtic family, Celtic PLC is delighted to advise we are signing up to the Living Wage Carter’

    Your welcome

My problem with Bankier is not just the debacle at the AGM this week, and I fully accept that he did not intend to label our support as racists.

I dunno. I can’t help but think it was an opportunity missed. It’s been a downward spiral ever since.

D’ye know something else. I don’t believe for one minute Celtic didn’t know what the huns were up to. It just doesn’t make sense.

Can I thank you publicly for a couple of recent posts reflecting your views on the Celtic Trust. At the very least they’ve been fair, objective and have shown an understanding of our purpose and aims. Thank you.

  8. Been following this wee debate all day….all I can say, is that I have had to tune into Radiohead to cheer myself up:)

Seriously….how much contempt can the PLC dish out to the Supporters.

A nasty wee businessman and his Tory pal get upset because their views are challenged, and then they take the DR approach to Celtic supporters.

Beggers belief to see what these halfwits are doing to Celtic.

Nasty wee men with nasty beliefs.

    They should be challenged.

Just to clarify my own view, I think Bankier is in many ways the antithesis of the Celtic ethos and I don’t want his kind associated with Celtic.

My point was that Bankier and perhaps Livingston too, do not have the smokescreen of a resurgent team on the park to hide behind. The feelgood factor is not there for the majority of fans so attention tends to turn to matters off the park.

I quite believe what you’ve been told.

    Macjay,

My target is the SFA, who facilitated everything the Hun did.

For me, unless that is resolved, football in Scotland, which is Celtic’s raison d’etre, is pointless.

Continued support would be for other reasons than football and for me, that is not enough.

It may not be so big a deal for me, as I am in the winter of my Celtic supporting career, but what of the younger and upcoming supporters?

What empty shell will they be followings?

What value any empty victories for the CT or any pressure group if the game remains corrupts?

To read HT’s comments that their focus is solely on Celtic is disappointing.

Celtic is in my heart and will always remain there, but it will be nourished by my memories of triumphs and failures past, not in participation in a crooked game.

Now that I do agree with, and I also agree with you 100% that the real enemy is the sfa, they should be the focus of every Celtic supporter, cos I’m sure you will agree that the only ones who are going to bring them down are the support, prob of other clubs mind you, but the support.

Why would you be disappointed that our focus is on Celtic???

I asked you Tom to provide an example of the left wing agenda that the Trust have according to you. I’m still waiting.

  17. The positive we can take into Thursday is that Ajax know that even if they win on Thursday they would then need celtic to win in Turkey if Fenerbace win, as they surely will at mode. They are needing snookers. Their fate is in the hands of others.

Whereas celtics fate is entirely in our own hands ……. However safe they might be ?

Surely our unambiguous position will be more motivational than theirs ?

That can be our extra 10%

I have been disaffected with Scottish football for sometime

The EBT affair , Hun liquidation and the same club pretence, referee cheating etc etc

Amongst it all CFC s acquiescence in most of it

    I often think…what’s the point

“The bookies had us as favourites in both Molde games ”

I think I acknowledged that our “favourite” status was a lot to do with the expected money to be laid on us winning rather than a fully objective evaluation of our chances.

Nonetheless, even taking that into account, they rate our chances higher than our support does. I suspect we win on Thursday but lose in Turkey. However, as it is always dependent on how the team performs, my predictions could be reversed in actuality or we could lose both ties. The outcome I least expect, two wins in our final CL fixtures, is the one that would give me most joy- regardless of bookies odds

Ajax aren’t the team they used to be, if the comparison is the Ajax of the early 1970s with cruyff, neeskens etc or the 1995 side of Davids , seedorf, van der sar , over mars etc that won the European cup.

Nor is the Dutch national team what it used to be and not too many Ajax players are established in that side.

But Ajax are still a decent team. Veltman is a promising defender, Fischer and el ghazi are better attacking players in my view than anything Celtic have up front.

Factor in our lamentable recent European form and it’s not looking promising.

But then a Celtic side with Graeme Sinclair and Davie moyes (I think) won in Amsterdam against an Ajax team with the veteran cruyff, soren lerby and Jesper Olsen so hope always springs eternal!

  23. the glorious balance sheet on

What entity would have most leverage in trying to take action against the SFA for their proven collusion with Rangers re incorrect registration of players and incorrect award of a licence to play in Uefa competition in 2011; would that be the Celtic Trust – a collection of fans and small shareholders – or Celtic Plc who have representation on the SFA board?

    Hmmmm, difficult one that.

Celtic and other clubs allowed Ogilvie to run unopposed for re-election as SFA president in 2013. This at a time when the tax skeletons were falling out of Ogilvie’s closet.

But now we’re being told the Celtic Trust should be doing more about the likes of Ogilvie and the SFA while Celtic plc presumably stand in the background saying “nothing to do with us guv”

    Absolutely.

They have skewed ,and continue to skew the game in favour of the hun for decades.

Our forefathers knew that.We know that.

I met H.T. recently in Glasgow. He provided tickets for my family and me. A rare opportunity for them to follow, literally, in the footsteps of their Scottish grandparents.

His love of Celtic matches ours, but as so often is the case, his means of achieving the best for Celtic differs from mine, and I suspect yours.
