On the evidence they simply choose, make a decision not to…..or just simply ignore the issue.
They can then of course, choose, make a decision to to run a positive sounding piece related to a former besuited executive employee….rather than perhaps putting a spotlight on a currant…..besuited managerial employee who has just failed to steer his charges to victory against a team who play on fancy linoleum…………They also choose not to speculate on whether the expensively acquired Defunkt will return anytime soon from another injury………………( so on and so forth).
Can’t be upsetting or worrying the mouth-breathers with even reasonable, objectivity!
My working rule last year was that james Forrest had to have two indifferent games in a row before he was consigned to the scrapheap again by fans, regardless of previous form.
I may have to revise downwards. James has contributed greatly to two very good performances against Hamilton and Reykjavik, whilst having a poor game against Killie, sandwiched in between, in common with all of his teammates.
Judged on last night vs the Icelanders, even a good game won’t save him from those who have painted themselves into a corner and cannot spot James’s contributions on the field now ebevn though their search area is halved as they imagine he remains in one half of the pitch all the time. :-)
I was over in Brisbane for the pre season tournament at the start of Tony Mowbrays tenure and met Andy Lynch in the pub.
He was absolutely inundated with comments and questions, from hundreds of supporters, about the 77′ Cup final penalty kick – until I asked him about his 2 OG’s at Fir park 😂 He smiled, probably at my boldness.
Promising performance lazt night, would start to phase out Broonie in favour of Ntcham throughout the season, would welcome Turnbull in place of Rogic, need another 2x CB (not Duffy) and a LB, would like to see a Yeti play in a front two with OE and Forrest needs a challenger as he looks jaded.
So promising, but still need 4/5 in to improve match day 16 squad. Made good progress in trimming the over-sized squad (think i read we had reduced by 12?) but need quality in to replace them.
Hand of God – Agree a Bayern PSG final should be great

JF had a good game — you are having a laugh.
He was rank last night — fed the ball and worked it less that 10% of the time.
Lazy from the 45 second mark — that takes some doing.
Where is PR when you need him?

Loved the repartee between WGS and big John last night. Definitively, Edouard is a 9, a striker that drops into the hole.
I didn’t have an opinion until an ex-Celtic and Scotland player dropped by my business ten minutes ago and told me what’s what ;-)

JF must be a relation or you live in Ayrshire by the sea.
No other explanation for your devotion to our own little willie waver …
Alleged little …
He is a huge talent.
He is capable of some great football.
He is phoning it in now and has been for the past 18 months.
He is one of the reasons why our performances are so variable.
No matter his talent he is not worth a regular starting place as he only delivers 20% of the time.
PR gave him a boot up the erse and now he is fat and happy with no competition.

Opinion of an egg chaser who gave up football at 12 due to sight issues …
Consequently open to challenge.
BFE can play two roles — trad No.9 / speciality is coming deep to do a bit of link up play.
Second striker coming in off the left — GS style but with a more clinical finish but less pace.
I think he will go further in the game playing as a second striker.
However his talent is such that the trad No.9 role may not be his main strength but he is hugely effective in that position and has added something to it with his close control.
18 month slump that saw him contribute 16 goals and 22 assists in a curtailed 2019/2020 season, preceded by 18 goals and 20 assists in 2018/19.
Long may the slump continue!
Karamoko can provide competition if he stays – even Mikey Johnston can provide that- but JF has seen off all comers including PR.

Is anyone else here in Club Celtic, y’know the section where Peter gives us a free pie at half time? Anyway, on entry as well as the team sheet you receive a match programme- does anyone else have problems getting one? And why do I keep passing folk with half a dozen? Just my boy is at an age he wants me to bring him a programme- I guess I will end up taking out a separate subscription. I know its a triviality.

Given his talent — JF has not delivered enough over the past 18 months.
He gets the goals and provides the assists because he is playing with good players around him.
However a lot of our poor football at times is down to him phoning it in — making us a one wing team that is easy to defend against.
Currently he is 85 minutes of lazy stodge plus 5 minutes of effort that may or may not deliver a goal.
This is all about opportunity cost — give someone else the chance and see what they can do supporting our forward line with the amount of possession that we can generate.
“He gets the goals and provides the assists because he is playing with good players around him.”
How’s that fair? Are we all allowed to give Eddy pelters now cause he plays with good players?

The trouble with JF is we all KNOW what he’s capable of…….it’s just that he only does it in spurts and starts. The fact that he does contribute with goals and assists makes it all the more frustrating. I think most fans think that he works for 20% of the games and the rest of the time he APPEARS to hide. If he could up his work rate to 50% he’d double his stats and be a very good player. If he could up it to 75% he’d be world class. The frustrating part is we all know he’s more than capable

Great debate between WGS and BBJ last night on whether Eddy was a 9 or a 10.
For me he is an 11…………….
in the Spinal Tap sense
Rusty / rusty / rusty — some good goals though.
HAE = our most complete defender by a country mile.
NB had a good game and offers a bit of quality at times.
Onwards and upwards — next week will be a bigger test but we hve the quality to make a game of it.
Tactics / coaching / focus — needs a bit of work.

If our squad is so thin then what have we been doing for the past few years?
What is the score with the youth set up and why do we continue to pay over the odds for a never ending list of forward projects?
De ja vu all over again — spoiled with the gems we found in MD / BFE.
I wonder when the accounts will tell the story of this ongoing failure.
