    how about the punch on hatate – commentators saw it , slo mo showed it , why didn’t VAR act – it was a clear fore arm smash – Lagerbielke got red for less!

    Can’t blame the ref for that. I’d be delighted if we were reffed to that standard every week. My in,y gripe,was the unfair booking for Phillips right on half time.

    we are too soft – at half time the Lazio players arena the ref complaining about kicks and pulls. Celtic are too fkn nice – we need to be own ref faces and learn the dark arts of this game. Mcgregor is a great captain but sometimes he need to be more at it with the refs!

    Gutted. Sucker punched per usual in Europe. We were the better team but lacked that cutting edge.. Perhaps should have signed a quality non project striker in the sumner.To help Kyogo.

     

    I did not think the subs improved us . All round so much to be positive about . But gutted. . Why do we do this every flippin’ season !!!!!

    I think we should give Bernardo a game in the league. I think there’s a player there but all players need time to get up to speed. Scales is a case in point – no world beater but has improved dimple because he us used to the pace now. Even big CCV needs that.

    the bottom line is at this level we are not good enough , the best in Scotland win the league and take the prize money for qualifying for CL, rinse and repeat.

     

     

    Weve never had a settled defence for the last 5 seasons in Europe.

     

     

    we need a bit of the rub of the green in that department and i dont think its too far off

    Fine margins. Promising signs that we’re getting closer to a champions league team and then we show why we aren’t yet.

    Ccv booted on the forehead yellow card we got 2 sent off in Holland for less the VAR was a Spaniard how come with a Spanish team in our group?

    we are far too many mamby pamby at this level and not cute enough , to survive we have to play them at their own game as MoR said when the guy kicks him in the face and the ref does nothing because he stays on his feet and didn’t go down squealing he got nothing , sad to say but that’s the way it is.

    That’s bull.

     

     

    We were the better team. A draw would have been harsh on us.

     

     

    We do need to cut out the mistakes, and we never seem to have the luck in Europe.

     

     

    The injury crisis hasn’t helped but the real issue is whoever pulls the trigger on recruitment.

     

     

    We were a couple of signings away from being a good team in Europe, we lost a few and in Jota a stand out. So rather than 3 good players we should have brought in 4. But we ended up with what, double figures, but nobody materially improving the first 11.

    If a Lazio player makes that mistake, we don’t get the chance to work the ball out wide for the cross because they foul us.

    We tend to get inexperienced refs in the CL. God forbid that a ‘big’ country complains. So they know the score.

     

     

    That said, at no point in the game did I think we would lose. If anything, we were too timid, looking for the safe pass, not looking to create chances.

    We held our own for 95 mins , could have won it but a draw probably would have been fair . We just can’t catch a break in the champions league , we don’t get decisions that the opponents get , ultimately it’s down to our error that cost us the draw .

     

    Over the two games our performance has improved on previous showings , but as before no points on the table .

     

    As they say it’s the hope that kills you …

    Played really well, a draw would have been disappointing but the manner of the loss is heartbreaking.

     

     

    This is the game I thought we had to win, there are 4 games to play so not giving up but we need a minor miracle at this stage.

    Totally agree …the league is the only real show in town…it is really simple …in the league we are in and the money available ..we simply can’t compete at this level ..it’s like a corner shop trying to compete with a superstore.. and that is being kind …honesty is the best policy Celtic ..let the players relax now and enjoy what’s left of the champions league experience ..and concentrate on the double ..leave delusion to the Govan Gullibles

    The 2 qualities we have never had at European level for years,is belief and composure, when playing teams with much vaunted names,but with much inferior players from their heyday, we freeze.A better showing in 2nd half ,without making many chances,Lazio were there for the taking

    What goes around comes around. Battle for third place is still on.

     

    Maeda should have been hooked well before his deftly touch and Nat Phillips looked comfortable enough to stay on. Scales having grown into the game nullified the gamble bringing on a rusty CCV. Made no sense with 20 mins to go.

    Been watching these CL mistakes for 20+ years. It’s not a case of simply cutting them out.

     

     

    Rather they happen because our players cannot sustain the level of concentration needed for entire CL games.

     

     

    Combination of our domestic competition (or lack of) and quality of our players.

     

     

    I hope our results and co-efficient will improve in the years ahead as the European competitions format changes and we play more european games to counteract a poor domestic league that makes Celtic ill prepared for CL competition.

     

     

    But who knows…..a lack of first team ready and experienced recruits this summer has also contributed to this seasons readiness.

    yes, the board push the boat out financially to lure brendan back to the club. Their ambition is win the league pocket the money – THAT.IS.IT!!

     

     

    He is already frustrated – Yang Maeda and Hatate all lacked composure and class out there tonight. running the ball out of play, standing on the ball and tripping up all over the place. Keep projects for Scottish games. Forrest and Palma should have started!

     

     

    Lawell should get onto UEFA and ask about the consistent decision against us and the ones VAR seems to miss – its beyond belief. Yes punters can argue individual mistakes and take it on the chin – this has been going on for decades.

     

     

    UEFA hates us because of Dallas, the green brigade fcuk Uefa banner or hunfiltrated – its corrupt and I’m a rational bhoy

    Are we forgetting that Hugh (impartial) Dallas is a very high up official in UEFA? I’ve thought for the majority of our European games we’ve had very bad officials and/or dodgy officiating.

     

     

    May not be a thing, but can’t rule it out either.

    Funny how we see team/players differently……thought camlac played really well Scales was there biggest threat in the first half but a lot better in the second…..overall i thought Celtic played well.

    Just back from the game. Very few failures for me, Yang and Reo bit ropey at times and one Scales pass gave made my heart skip a beat but overall proud of the players.

     

     

    How they kept 11 men on the pitch I do not know but still feels like we only have ourselves to blame though fine margins and all that.
