Maeda didn’t know he was offside ffs
Absolutely brilliant first half of football. Fantastic game to watch. I’m out of breath just watching it. Can we maintain this pace? Huge ask.
Every player has performed excellently. Just shows how hard it is to,get results at this level. Play to your best and still can’t completely dominate against the team sitting 16th in Italy. Standards so high nowadays.
Absolutely unbelievable quality on our goal. Denmark must have some team if MOR can’t make even the squad. CalMac, Reo, Daizen all superb. Taylor been excellent. One very minor slip and we nearly concede a goal. ruthless!
Special mention for Phillips and wspecially Scalles. Talk about taking your opportunity! Bhoy has been outstanding in and out of possession.
Yang definitely has something and if he can get his final ball right he may yet prove an ECL level player. Not at the level yer, but has put in a very encouraging first half.
I still fear we’ll lose against such a strong opponent, but that level of performance in the first half far surpassed my expectations. Worth getting up,at 2am local,time to,watch!
Overall, a good half from us. Some really nice play and largely in control.
The lack of composure when we start well, take the lead and then fall back and allow them into the game. Very frustrating. The game is here for the taking.
PS ours might prove the most interesting and competitive of all the groups, with 4 closely nlisrky matched teams playing out very close and entertaining games.
Playing ok all things considered. Our goal was a thing of beauty. Maeda and MoR linked beautifully and Kyogo did what Kyogo does.

Your take on the Maeda opportunity is spot on. (Despite the fact we all know his final ball is consistently poor).
Should be playing 10 men,Maeda needs to start going down the line, inside every time,Hatate poor again
Hopefully Phillips has the experience not to get a second this half. That card looked cheap. One on Hatate was far worse.
