Always lurking , but seldom post, but enough is enough.
I’am 53 and supported Celtic all my life. Myself, my wife and 5 sons are Celtic mad as is a lot of our extended family. We’ve lived in London for 30 years and brought our sons up to be loud and proud Celtic supporters ( all but 1 are adults now ). My youngest is eight and is actually named after Henrik, ( not bad for an Irish kid living in London, with a Swedish name ). We have 2 season books and have spent thousands and thousands and fkn thousands on traveling to Glasgow and all over Europe and 2 or 3 different shirts every year ( x 6 ). I’am not saying i’am different to anyone else, but i’am the one in charge of MY decisions. You know how hard it is to be ridiculed and laughed at as an adult, but when your a kid and all your mates have Arsenal, spurs, Man U and Liverpool tops on and you always have your Celtic top on and they’re telling you Celtic are crap ( pub team when it’s adults ) then it’s a testament to all my sons for never wavering and took it on the chin, and also a job well done by my wife and I. Last week my youngest bhoy cried when we lost and it killed me.
So enough is enough. To stand by and let anyone take you for a **** is as bad as being a **** . It kills me , but this board has had it’s last penny from me and my family, because we are Celtic supporters, not CASH COWS , we will not stop being Celtic supporters, but we will stop supporting this money mad board. We have paid the first 2 direct debits ( they can keep that £300 ) but they will not be getting the other 6 , or any other shirt purchases this year either. We will return to supporting them financially, when this board is gone, and replaced with one that is interested in OUR FOOTBALL TEAM and not the balance sheet.
Within the space of a year , between the sanitising and demonising of our support and the downsizing of the team they have destroyed a once unique club and replaced it with a debt free laughing stock club , with a average run of the mill support, which in my opinion ,will soon lose it’s global appeal. Depressed HFH !!

So now that we can dispense with all the nonsense about glorious comebacks, it occurs to me that there is a big question to be answered. Stick or twist with Ronnie?
My instinct is that the club will back him for at least a season. I hope they do, because it’s clear to me that the downsizing will continue unabated and Ronnie has a terrific track record of developing young talent. Fraser & Virgil will certainly go and there may be others. I had been scratching my head about the Commons contract situation given that he has been head & shoulders above the rest of our offensive unit, it’s now becoming clearer, Celtic will cheerfully cash him in too given his age and the sort of money being banded about.
The strategy of sourcing and developing young talent to be sold at a later date for profit, has initially been successful in eradicating the clubs debts, but now that has been achieved, the club seems intent on just carrying on raping the first teams resources and gambling on the scouting teams talent spotting. It is a fatal mistake.
The clubs main revenue streams are from supporters (through season book sales) and from UEFA (through Champions League participation). Basically, if the first team is poor, then the former revenue stream is affected, and the latter disappears. So…look after the team!
Instead, what we have now is a situation where the first team is too weak to compete in The Champions League and so the revenue is reduced and the rest of the club shrinks to fit. It is a negative cycle. A downward spiral. A downsizing. As supporters we can only look on, we have precious little power. We have to trust that The Kaiser and his sharpshooter can see what we can see and that they have a plan to rescue the fortunes of the team. Unfortunately, it is not a Martin O’Nielesque 5 year plan of investment, success and recoupment. No, the plan appears to be Ronnie and his talent for developing young players. He will need time. Without Rangers or Champions League football there is nothing to attract proven talent anyway. We must continue to source it cheaply or develop it. This is the road we are on. It will be a long one, but we have nobody else to blame.
In a way I’m relieved that the bourgeois elite of Europe, and particularly of England, will not get the opportunity to pump us this autumn. That’s not the boards thinking of course, that’s fan thinking.

Completely scunnered by my experience at the game tonight. It felt like anything but a “home” game.
I was in the East Stand. There were pockets of Polish Legia fans dotted throughout the stand.
After Legia scored their first goal a mass brawl broke out with people knocking seven shades of you know what out of each other. Young children and women were being caught up in this, police nowhere to be seen, stewarding useless.
It was stupid of Celtic to sell the Legia fans tickets for the Celtic end. It caused unnecessary tension. Love of cash clearly trumps spectator safety as well as footballing success for our board.
Its amazing that our club will collude with the authorities in hammering the Green Brigade for singing certain songs but they`re happy to risk spectator safety by selling tickets to visiting fans for the Celtic end.
