You must be a hun, you used the “r” word…….well that’s according to tontine tim ;-)

I can only agree, we were led a merry dance, it was great at the time but we now look like fools.

Not only that, we have a backlash coming. One that will require people to walk away or become a willing player in the parody of the Old Firm

  3. Well folks just in from the the game, and Hey Ho highlight of the night was the Tram Service. We are in what I would call a state of Limbo, wait a minute does that still exist, waiting for God only knows, thats Twice we have attempted to play the Beautiful game and boy did we no turn up.However we will see what develops in the coming months with the new setup.

    Very disapointed Papa John

  4. Deila’s men never got going against the Polish champions and the Norwegian admitted his players were well short of the standard they need to be at that level.

“It was not good enough,” he said. “They started okay and put them under a little bit of pressure, but they didn’t create anything.

“They got two easy goals, again, and that’s worrying me. We just have to say we lost to the better team. The boys want to play better.

Deila is determined to ensure Celtic return to the Champions League next season

“We are very disappointed. We’re going to rise up and we’re going to perform much better, win the league again, and next year in this situation we’re going to go through.

“We’re going to do everything to get into the Europa League. It’s a fantastic chance to play against European opponents and that’s what we need now.”

Deila was locked in the dressing room for some times after the game, but afterwards refused to blame his side and instead took full responsibility, insisting a different line-up would not have changed the result.

“It’s my responsibility,” he added. “We know there’s much more in this team and there’s a lot more to fight for this season.

“Maybe we could’ve done things differently but I don’t think we would’ve won this game.”

Have my nephews wearing Celtic tops but know how sensitive teenage boys are about peer pressure. Their EPL supporting friends will slaughter them after tonight. Not a single player ‘bought’ with a view to giving us a chance to progress. We were dire in Europe last year and have been destroyed by a team that really struggled against part time St Pat’s in Poland. Very interested to see the next article on here. \no mention of NL’s allusion to a lack of investment last week.

  6. Wait!

I’ve just realised that we don’t need to sell any players after all as PL has stated MANY times that we only budget for EL footie…and CL is a bonus.

Thank God SOMEBODY’S doing their job right!

    Which is nice.

Is Deila suggesting we have insufficient in our team to beat Legia ??

That’s my reading of the last comment …if do …very concerning

  8. The guy who threw his scarf on the pitch be side the media photographers at the west corner….. I hope you don’t come back

  9. Beamishismypint on

RD sounds a bit like Moyes – lots of references to next year (wishful thinking?). What happened to ‘I know what went wrong last week and it’s easy to fix?’

  10. Observation…..

Legia beat us by the same aggregate score as they beat St Pats…6-1.

I was at the St Pats v Legia game and posted right after it that I saw nothing in Legia to worry me!

Our result was our own undoing – naivity at best.

Blaming the pre-season schedule is disappointing from RD. His team selecting in Warsaw was completely unfathomable and undermined the team in my opinion….and JC sat and looked on?

  11. Just Another Tim on

Totally scunnered. Why is the club we love trying it’s hardest to turn us into a laughing stock? Losing 6-1 against Legia is completely unacceptable. Congratulations to Legia, they deserved it but they didn’t have to work hard for it. We should be able to beat teams like this comfortably.

I don’t know what to say… brassed off with what is happening. I don’t know who the blame lies with. Is it the board for this ineffective transfer policy? The players for woeful performances? or Ronny Deila & John Collins for their management?

Something is wrong with our club.

  12. To me one of the eye openers posts was the battered bunnet mentioning that he was expecting to see about 10m cash in our bank account at the beginning of the season

Battered is one who publishes facts

Celtic PLC has been obsessed with cash flow , balance sheets , return of investments that the eye has been taken away from the ball. The team on the park is of a very poor quality

We have been trying to sell our best players and filing them with haveneverbeens

We had known a few years ago we had one goal scoring striker ( hooper ) and their was a risk if he wasn’t playing Now we have no goal scoring striker and any money that is needed to buy one just went up in smoke because of PL’s cash in the bank policy

We can’t afford to sell Foster

We can afford to sell any players

  13. terrible stuff but to be honst like 70% of lst seasons games. We are sloppy in pocession and passing.we have no striker who can score. Stevie May for £800,000 or any of our million £+ strikers. I take Mae all along.

When we played Asrenal in the CL a few years back they were as well as been better players in every position they were bigger stronger and faster. Did we learn from that lesson nope all our midfield players need to bulk up.Macgreggor MOTM for me. No one does anyything to merit wearing the celtic jersey. ?well I like him a bit more after refusing to play the1st team in Finland.

  14. Captain Beefheart on

    Good grief.

The CQN loyal, those who watch every Rangers game, tell us that the board are OF men. Oh the irony.

As a support, we blew it. We could have filled Celtic Park when Rangers were missing but we didn’t.

  15. I don’t know what system they are trying to play? Makes no sense at all…

But to have a bit part defensive mid alongside a full back playing def mid…with one striker whilst trying to overturn a 4-1 deficit?….. Wow

  16. squire danaher on

mozzer is still god 22:30 – RD is certainly not helping himself in terms of team selections and tactics. The names of Mulgrew, Stokes and Commons have been mentioned in particular as pals of NFL, and as individuals among the less mobile in a team which has been utterly pedestrian for the past 4 years and beyond.

As a matter of interest would you care to offer some even veiled suggestion of your source of these Bazza and Boydy-esque revelations? These sound like they’ll further hang the manager out to dry in the court of public opinion and leave Celtic the laughing stock the Huns were when they stabbed PLG in the back.

  17. Captain Beefheart on

    Sydney,

You have been much maligned(from myself as well) I know that it will give you no pleasure to be proven correct with regard to much of your analysis.

  18. Mr Z, congratulations to your team, Legia were worthy winners.

Your fans were a credit to your club.

    Ronny needs time and patience.

    Back him.

  19. Auldheid.22.41

If that is the strategy, and the evidence is pointing that way, when do they apply the

    brake pedal ?

Our new manager lacks the experience of WGS and the sentiment offered to NFL when they both suffered early European

    failure.

The Europa League qualification is now one of many concerns.

    Leadership is required .

Where , when and from whom shall it come ?

    Long season ahead.

  20. I see Poor Ronny thinks it’s too hard as well. Seems we would have lost no matter what we did with the team.

    Ah what an inspiration.

Bye poor Ronny. It’s for your own good!

  22. The manager was appointed as a cheap yes man. The players NL brought in last year were generally poor. The perfect storm when the new manager is denied new players.

Never trust a manager with a philosophy and someone else’s squad.

    Peter Lawwell take a bow!

  23. Tonight taught me….

My lucky red boxers aren’t that lucky.

Mrs jamesgang is beautiful but she’s not a lucky leprechaun.

We’ve on occasion been more than the sum of our parts in recent years. Tonight we were far less than…..

New manager, same ‘attacking’ ploy of punting the diagonal to Sammi who now is Stokesie.

The sieve is back. With a vengeance.

We are pretty devoid of guile.

The team that did the right thing in terms of pressing high, fast and in packs was the wrong team.

Without Broonie we have no bite or leadership (slightly scary, the latter bit).

Imbeciles running/policing stations can cause even the most placid of folks to want to riot.

Platform 5 does a good burger and huge fish n chips.

Losing hurts. Losing without guile or guts really hurts.

  25. Have NEVER left a Celtic game early until TONIGHT !!!

No hunger desire commitment quality or direction !

We ARE in big big Trouble !!!

Celtic fans made a statement with 30 mins to go the danger signs are very evident and real !!!

Gutted so angry and gutted ;(

  26. Celtic did not create a clear cut scoring chance tonight against a side who are seeded to be knocked out in the next round of the competition.

The lack of basic ball control and passing skills was shocking.

  27. Losing the dressing room. thats poor excuse from players who quite frankly are not good enough. and its easy to blame the manager. He Ronny was left a lot of dross.under lennon some of these players were posted missing in a lot of games.being at Murrayfield this evening, you know that feeling you get at certain matches, that nothing going to happen, you can see that we are not going to score a goal or 2,its so soul destroying, then at the back of you i was in section 11.,fans are starting argue with 1 another, nearly came to fisty cuffs, thats what happens when you are watching a poor football team. I hope Ronny is giving a few quid to spend on players very soon. and if he has the say who goes and who stays.i would to see him offloading .players like Izzy, Matthews , Foster, Virgil, Ambrose, Mulgrew, Stokes ,i think these ones have been mentioned this week as to be transfered to other clubs.

  28. Just in, and not read another Comment,

My goodness that was poor, and for me apart from Ronny’s tactics not working or being worked too ? I did not like the attitude or application of several players.

Celtic Board, pay attention, our Clubs direction needs a radical change, you are destroying us from within,

Start by removing John Park from his position of picking players.

    On a positive note

God willing, I will awake in the morning still a TIM :-)

    Hail Hail

  29. Harald Flatpack on

You can have all the ability in the world (which we don’t) but it you don’t have belief and courage it won’t amount to much.

I’d argue you need more courage to play expansively against a team like Legia than you do too shut up shop against Barca. We didn’t show much tonight.

If RD hadn’t figured it out after last week , he’ll know now that we lack ability and courage. The later was evident during Lennon’s years, Rangers at Ibrox, Inverness away to name but two. New players with ability and a steeliness are required and if we have anymore with the heart of McGregor give them a shout.

Harsh to single out one bad player when so many failed to turn up. However Stokes represents perhaps Celtic is some respects. He has ability but he must be one of the least football intelligent players in the squad. Runs offside, stays offside, runs in when others are doing so rather than hang back (twice tonight). If anyone had any doubts as to why Izzy was left out last week then see goal 3 last week and both goals tonight. He cannot defend. Seems harsh to pick on these two but they represent our failings.

Disappointed that fans turned on Poles sitting within the ranks tonight. I’ve celebrated Celtic goals in amongst Liverpool and Barca fans over the years with no problems. Shook hands and walked away with scarfs at the end of it. Shouldn’t be taking our frustrations with others who just happen to be better.

  30. Watched the Ronny post match interview on sky sports, and fair enough. As someone earlier posted the G.Speirs article , Ronny’s true abilities will only be judged over time.

Also listened to Henning Berg’s comments, and he too pronounces the need for “time” for Ronny.

In the grand scheme of things I would tend to listen to these qualified sports people, than some of the wild opinions flying around on fan forums

Perfectly happy we haven’t spent, and Aberdeen have. *review around Christmas*, right now Celtic don’t know who to buy, or how to field them.

Sell VVD and FF and RD will use the money to buy the nucleus of a new side a la NFL and Aiden McGeady.
