  1. Good evening CQN

    Apologies for a political post

Remember our old friend Rob Shorthouse from Police Scotland, reminder below

    http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/anti-celtic-story-parcelled-up-by-police-spokesman/comment-page-5/

Very interesting presentation from Rob Shorthouse on his role in the better together campaign, about 10 mins in listen to ow he used social media, then think of Better together posters who have multi log ins

    Good night

  2. If the irish raj had been that upset at the antics of the sevco board members at the semi final , he could have sent his army of lawyers to aid the res 12 bhoys and nail those cheats once and for all .

    Spot on.

I also noted a post earlier from Greenpinta (always first to attack my view of an anti gay perspective on here) that 41% of electorate voted to remain.

Greenpintastupid. Any chance you could put your analysis to the same % of electorate who voted for NorthBritism.

My recollection of that period is that a lot of new posters appeared, all nats, in the run up to the vote who then predictably enough disappeared immediately thereafter.

I don’t recall any new posters advocating a no vote.

  5. Hunderbirds are Gone on

Scott Sinclair. I don’t know, but I do know that if all he has is pace, then he won’t be much use to us.

Most SPF Hell teams we play line up in an 12 yard strip across the pitch, anchored on their 6 yard line.

    James Forrest has pace.

Pace is no good if there’s nowhere to run too.

  6. Hunderbirds – JF usually finds somewhere to run, it’s what he does when he gets there that’s the problem.

  7. MOONBEAMSWD on 24TH JULY 2016 10:34 PM

There does seem to be some (not all) very prominent active BT posters on this blog who never seem to be able to meet fellow CQN posters ? Maybe they watch Celtic games at Rob Shorthouse gaff

Definitely aff to bed, hope you and yours are well MWD, catch up on next home C/L game if you at the corner, all welcome HH

  8. Chris Froome – got to say that’s the most genuine and humble superstar in his sporting field I think I’ve ever heard.

3 TDF wins and you’d think he’d just cycled down the pub and back.

Well done to a consumate pro and ridiculously normal guy.

But you’ve earned the right to brag a bit, ffs Chris!

  9. I really doubt the roofing issues at Ibrox are at the point of endangering people.

Do you really think somebody is going to risk career suicide and jail to pass the roofing as safe if it isn’t?

  10. Delaneys Dunky on

    Hunderbirds

If SS can run at pace toward goal and stick a good few in?

    He will do for us.

  11. LIONROARS67 on 24TH JULY 2016 10:42 PM

And had any of those posters been posting for years prior to the referendum?

BTW I wonder what did happen to all the nats who descended in the run up to the referendum.

Did you ever meet any of them?

  12. ERNIE LYNCH on 24TH JULY 2016 10:35 PM

Ernie happy to take this discussion offline and not boar other CQN who want to discuss the fitba, im sure i can persuade some fellow CQN’s to join us for a beer and a chat before/after any Celtic game you attend HH

My recollection too. CQN was swimming in Irn Bru, shortbread floaters and See You Jimmy hats bobbing up and down.

It does strain credulity. I’ve no doubt the place is a shambles but I doubt it’s in imminent danger of collapse.

Great shout. Would love to meet Ernie for a pre or post match blether wi you too.

  16. Weeminger 10.43

    I agree.

Some of the more recent stuff promoted by JJ , Phil ,and then picked up and spread by the likes of James Forrest ,has been proven to be based on elements of truth.

It’s then been exaggerated and spread .

Hoping to cause harm and alarm.

They have in recent times lost their credibility.

James Forrests inability to be concise and precise in his articles loses him readers also.

They take the same spurious news and spread it.

  17. LIONROARS67 on 24TH JULY 2016 10:47 PM

I no longer attend matches. Indeed I won’t be contributing a penny to Celtic while they go along with the same club narrative. I’ve made that clear previously. And as I don’t live anywhere near Glasgow I won’t be dropping by for a pint with you or any of your ilk.

‘And here is a punter who swallows the story hook, line and lead, and is regurgitating it on the blog disguised as some mythical fact in his own mind.’

    ###

    Oh dear.

I suspect my point has rather gone over your head.

I think the article is crap. I said so on here at the time.

I think the story story was floated by Celtic to help boost season book sales by allowing The Great Desmondo to do a bit of a reverse ferret on his previous utterances about how great the huns were.

    ——————–

See? There it is. You’ve interpreted the article, by your own an admission, as a puff piece.

THEN, grasp flimsy opportunism to warp that same puff piece as an opportunity to slag the board.

I’m no fan of the suits at times either, but in this case your entire argument is sheer fabrication, opinioned as “I think”. Hence zero credibility.

Then again your slant is exactly that- just like a journalist.

    :-)

  19. There is an old saying in business – “turnover is vanity, profit is sanity:

It is a hard fact that the only way that we can generate the revenue to even ‘make a fist’ of competing near football’s the top-table, is to reach the CL groups on a regular basis.

So what part does winning the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup play in this goal?

I say that these peripheral competitions should have no place in our priorities. They should only be used for first-team players in need of game-time and in ‘blooding’ youngsters.

A full league programme plus six CL qualifiers and hopefully thereafter, six group matches, add up to fifty games per season – enough for our first-team squad.

Ten games in the aforementioned domestic cups could be so beneficial and motivational for our ‘young guns’

A couple of glamour pre-season friendlies can yield more cash than winning these cups.

Let’s hope Brendan can bring a new focus to how we set ourselves up – collecting domestic cups is vanity, CL qualification is sanity.

    It has happened before….

  23. SIN CITY BHOY on 24TH JULY 2016 10:58 PM

    Just to be clear.

It seems, from what two other posters have said, that the events at Ipox narrated in that article did actually happen.

What I think is crap is that those events influenced the signing of BR.

    I think that was spin.

Auldheid’s view seems to be something along the same lines.

You seem to find it difficult to comprehend that either Celtic or The Great Desmondo would ever try to spin a narrative to their advantage. I find that odd.

  24. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar...... Ipox belongs to the creditors on

Just in and haven’t read back …. Anyone else Know anything about GMS going to Hearts, with their right back, Paterson, coming to us …????

  25. LIONROARS67 on 24TH JULY 2016 11:00 PM

I gather the CQN corner must be remarkable close to where Jim Ward, John Fallon, Franny and the rest assemble.

    Would that be right?

  26. Delighted with toure signing, only downside it probably means no shane Duffy or any other Good young dominant centre half with good potential would have been nice .

Can’t see us bringing in another centre half .

  27. Odd?

What is odd is spending years on the blog, which you commenced by insulting our host BTW, spinning the same old tiresome political clickbait.

No I don’t support the team, no I won’t meet anyone for a pint, no I won’t talk about the team, no I won’t offer any empathy to other Tims in times of need.

All I want to do is slag the suits, insult Tims and spin the same old political bore fest.

    Now that’s an “Oh, dear”.

I have no wish to go over old ground and figures in the Scottish Referemdum. Too many wounds to be healed, and anyway it’s nowhere near a generation.

I have no axe to grind about the E U referemdum. I did not use my vote, like 44% of glasgow voters. But to reitterate, only 41.6 % of the eligible voters, voted to remain. One third of SNP voters voted Brexit. Who represents them.? Or more to the point who is allowed to represent them ?

I have seen no evidence of homophobia on CQN. Have you ? I was responding to your post that insinuated that the perceived lack of Sympathetic posts for the American nightclub outrage was ” because they were gay ”

I have seen loads of posts advocating equality for all, regardless of race, gender, creed and sexual orientation. Which I totally agree with.

Hopefully this answers your questions above.

    Best Rgds and HH.

Correct. Jim ‘Ogilvie’ Ward is always there wi Franny. Great Tims!

  31. DELANEYS DUNKY on 24TH JULY 2016 11:15 PM

And any time I’ve heard him talk of them Franny was far more critical of the Board than anything I have ever posted on here.
