As many before have said last night and this morning, it wasn’t just the 3-1 scoreline but the manner in which it was carried out. Celtic made the team lying second in the Bundesliga who have only conceded 5 goals this season look ordinary. To do that at any time is incredible and to do it on a Champions League night is fantastic.
I wonder if that ‘football expert’ who panned Nicola Khun before he’d even kicked a ball for Celtic will be invited back to give us some more of his pearls of wisdom?

Any info on what the RB manager said and what the German media have said, think they dismissed our chances?

I saw some comments where they bemoaned the fact that they didn’t get a second when on top.
They thought the goals were sloppy but had to endure pain when the third goal went in.
They also gave us credit for being a team that plays good football.
In the past nearly every team has credited the crowd for making the difference, in this game I think they accept we were better than them.

I think credit has to be given to the backroom staff Kennedy, Strachan etc who were getting panned on here in Lenny’s last disastrous year.
Well done Celtic for sticking with them.

Unfortunately for me the Trump win has put a right damper on my mood.

‘Scottish official Andrew Dallas was at the heart of a VAR controversy after allowing a goal involving PSV Eindhoven’s former Rangers loanee midfielder Malik Tillman to stand against Girona. (Daily Record)’
In Celtics last Two games we have scored NINE Goals against the 2nd Best team in Scotland….and the 2nd Best team from Germany….
On THAT kind of form and Goal Scoring ability from Celtic…EVERY Hun Player or Fan MUST be dreading coming face to face with this Celtic Squad anytime soon.
When Celtic play like we have in the last Two matches….The Huns will NOT be able to cope with us. We shall run all over the Hun.
I wish the League Cup Final was THIS Weekend.

The ref was excellent , he and the other officials even looked like they enjoyed the occasion.
We’ve seen penalties and sending offs kill us in the past , the way we’ve played the last two CL games has negated this.
We looked a top team .

Just a quick one, going in to a meeting – agree with Bada – MOTM Brendan Rodgers – Aberdeen on Saturday and last night were managerial masterclasses – the players wonderfully coached and motivated HH

PS Before anyone responds, remember I said how it affects ME.

We are absolutely better than the sum of our parts which is down to Brendan.
Narrowing up the back 4 with the wide midfielders also stepping in a yard or two makes us difficult to break through. Seems to me that we’re not going super crazy every time on pressing the opposition.
From behind the goals on Sunday seemed to me we gave Aberdeen defenders the ball and pounced when the ball played into midfield… seemed there was some of that going on last night forcing Leipzig to play long.
Still our second goal came from being all over them like a rash ….. team spirit
All I’ll say is it speaks volumes of the American people, who simply cannot think for themselves, utterly pathetic, shame on them. Trump should be in the big hoos

The pitch at Celtic Park is around 8500 square yards. If you divide that by 22 the space per player is a surprisingly big area. Celtic made far better use of that space than our opponents, especially in the second half. We did so by being good on the ball and good movement off it. As predicted we created chances, and took a few of them. Their main threat, set pieces, especially corners would not have troubled a Martin O’Neill team but we persevered. All in all a tremendous victory against one of the best teams in German football. We are slowly but surely getting back to the days when we genuinely had an advantage playing in front of our own fans, and well done too to our support for their part. Well done too to the referees who showed that they were in control without being the centre of attention.

Just back home after watching last nights game. I’ve got to say I’ve been going over to watch Celtic since 1985 and that was probably the most controlled and convincing performance I have ever witnessed at that level. Of course we have had some outstanding results over that period but this was special.
We totally owned the second half and the players must be walking on air today.
Well done to Brendan and the bhoys and a big hand to the supporters who really stuck with the team when things looked to be heading the wrong way.
