  1. Scullybhoy- I was seven in 1965 and I still remember waiting for my dad and uncle to return from the game against Morton. They were there in the morning for ‘ Santa’ but seemed a lot happier when they got home after the Bhoys scoring eight and having a party to and from Paradise with the Greenock CSA.

    Great times.

  2. Just catching up now and have been busy all day. A happy and blessed Christmas to Paul and family and to all who contribute here and I hope that today has been as enjoyable for you all as it has been for me.

  3. Hope you’re all had a great day .

    I got a present that , I can’t really work out.

3 handkerchiefs , white , best linen ,Celtic emblem , lovely things they are …

Probably won’t get them out the drawer I put them in …

Why would I want to blow my snotters onto the Celtic crest .

Or is it just me ?

Anyhoo , onwards to the land of jute , jam and journalism . Let’s hope it’s not a ropy game played on a sticky surface that the press get all excited about…

No desperate dan stuff please Celtic.

    Up the Hoops

  4. Hope everyone had a great Xmas with their loved ones.

My only memory of Celtic on Xmas day was a great 3-2 win v Hearts and my mum and sister meeting us off the supporters bus and forcing my old man to take us all out for Xmas dinner at the Eglinton Arms Hotel as she refused to cook it that late. We were all happy in the end although dad a few quid lighter.

I got a subutteo set for Xmas I recall with a read and blue team and a Celtic team which had been bought separately.

Loads of Boxing Day classics though. Paulo Di Canio at Aberdeen was probably best of all although a 3-2 v Livingston at their very best was good also.

Any win will do tomorrow but one with a bit to spare would be great.

  5. Hope all on CQN had a great day … family is everything

MissGFTB (& her mum) gave me 2 tickets for the player of the year doo on 12th May, my daughter is a chancer as she has already demanded one of the tickets .. so probably used me & her mums money to buy me a present that she is going to use … that’s quite impressive

3pts at Dens park today would be the perfect Boxing Day present …

Pretty sure a wee Boxing Day trip a few years back to Dundee, game at Tannadice, half the game singing ..

“Tell all the Huns you know, you’ll never sell Ricksen or Flo, no you’ll never sell Ricksen you’ll never sell Ricksen you’ll never sell Ricksen or Flo”

£16million the old Gers paid (which they could ill afford) for those two internationals and some complain about projects and want “oven ready” starters :-)

Hopefully Callum & co ignore the “noise” and concentrate on 3pts each game as it comes

    100% behind Brendan 🍀

  6. GFTB

“Tell all the Huns you know, you’ll never sell Ricksen or Flo, no you’ll never sell Ricksen you’ll never sell Ricksen you’ll never sell Ricksen or Flo”

I remember that the next line was, “cause you thought you were great but you’ve only got eight, and you’ll never do nine in a row”

I remember telling an Aussie in Seoul S Korea, to his amusement.

Seasons greetings to all fellow Tims as we digest our evening feast, with a few drinks.

Mon the bhoys ra morra – 3 points please.

I think Brendan will try for some continuity in selection this afternoon, same starting line up as the weekend.

Paulo Bernardo had a decent if unspectacular game verse Livi, which isn’t to expect him to score, or threaten. He’s two footed and comfortable on the ball, but lacks dig and gets more shy the further forward he gets. Daizen Maeda has the benefit of game time since his injury, so is nailed on to start I’d expect. His best work for Celtic is running the entire flank backwards and forwards. Not an orthodox winger and likes to play in the channels, where he can be productive.

Yang is still behind Luis Palma Saturday’s man of the match. The Korean winger has made an impact since summer but his distribution is poor, but early in the season he showed more promise on the left wing which is more natural to him, and being wide right is when he’s been isolated.

Very difficult match in prospect, with the handicapped league.

  8. Good morning this fine St Stephens day.

    COYBIG

I also got tickets for POTY thingy, me, my boy, son in law and junior campo.

Oh that feckin drum all day and night to 11pm.

He can take it to next Roch game when Celtic are not playing and leave it in the shed.

Any victory today but I am greedy I want 4 or 5.

    Mon the Celts

Remember anyone fancy watching the game and are at a loss drop into the Howgait across from Royal infirmary and we will be up the back.

Have a good St Stephen’s day yall

    D. :)

  9. BURNLEY

Ahh The Egg (Eglinton Arms) – my least fave of all the ‘Sham pubs (cept the disco was not too bad for lassies over from EK and Clarkston). I preferred The Swan.

Tho I had a few subbuteo teams my fave was the Brazil team and, weirdly, the Aston Villa/West Ham teams; using a lampshade as floodlights on the dining table, they wee mini men fair performed miracles with me marshalling their strategy and every move (we were crying out for a LB and a Striker, as I recall ;))

  10. Where are these party goers?

    Too many festivities yesterday.

We have a game to play and win come on bhoys.

Any secret team news. Any taxi drivers in the know about our sick nite players.

When Abbadda does come back I hope we get right behind him and try and separate the political stuff from supporting our player of course depending on if he mouths off.

    D. :)

  12. Same team as started against Livingston for me. When we are 4 up, give Rio 10 minutes.

Re the scum, my team message would be,

1 Don’t forget, we are playing against 14 men and VAR.

2 Must keep 11 on the park at all costs.

3 No daft tackles in or near our penalty box.

4 Clug that little shit with the ponsy wee blue ribbon

    That’s it really, nae bother

  13. Big, big game today.

I hope our players are right up for it.

I’m cream knackered. Feel rougher than the coarse craggy terrain of an Arapaho war dogs unshaven chin.

    The wrath of grapes.

    COYBIG.

  14. Not a cloud in the sky here in Dundee. Light winds perfect conditions. Come on Celtic give us a comfortable afternoon and reason for another couple of shandys

  15. Why are people still going with Maeda? How many times does this guy have to let you down?.Really, the worst player I have seen for a long time.He runs about, that’s it.A myth built around this guy for no visible reason.

Waken up,watch him closely, and tell me is any better than a bottom half SPFL player.

Believe me I want him to do well, but have lost faith.Cannot for the life of me see any real talent there.

    Re Daizen.

He is a crucial member of the team in terms of chasing and closing down.

As a winger, his end product leaves a lot to be desired, maybe that’s why Japan play him as a number 9.

Think he is a much better player than your description of him though….

  17. Wee reminder of Superbru deadline at 3pm today for the Celtic match prediction. I will put the charity nominations up for vote on the Superbru site (Banter Section) just to the right of Leaderboard, Round, Matches and then Banter. All who are playing the game are entitled to vote on where the money raised goes. The voting options will be posted after the 5 matches on the 27th are finished.

Sure you are busy signing autographs so thanks for taking time out to join us.

Was fair braw to “see” you yesterday.

  21. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Pleased to see Bernardo selected. Needs a run of games and will likely play against the huns.

Maeda plays because of his off the ball work. Raises the levels by setting the bar for the whole team. He’s hopeless on the ball, but if he was any good on that side of the game we’d have sold him to Southampton by now 👍
