  1. I don’t have high expectations from the Hibs tomorrow. Maybe they will be the team to take points off Sevco- maybe not. But some team, sometime soon, will be.

Their defensive record looks good just now but, quite honestly, they have not been tested/

I am content that we have clawed our way back into a threatening position after the Bolingoli fiasco and the Scottish Govt. reaction to it. We are only 7 games in- we have not clicked and we are not at full speed- neither have they. Nobody will play a settled team through a 38 game season, we need to make room for early experimentation and then settle down to a more recognised group of 18 to 20 players.

We really weren’t dreadful against either St. Mirren or Livi nor were we brilliant. As with 90% of the performances that win the league- we were good enough.

And that is true of every league that we’ve ever won- even those won by the Lions. We cannot and will not pump everybody. We remember the Invincible season because it was such a rare season , an outlier. Even then we dropped points to ICT and Ross away from home and to Partick and Sevco at home. You can never predict when you are going to have an off day or an unlucky day but they will happen.

In his final full season, Brendan’s Celtic drew 10 and lost 4 matches. The man who improved us so much professionally managed a 69.8% win record with Celtic. The man who “dropped all that professionalism” has a 78.95% winning record this time around and he is up against a Rangers who are no longer managed by Caixinha or the Bread Man.

I am not asking anyone to give up on their criticisms as there are plenty of things we can do better but we are also not as bad as we are saying we are.

Long long way to go but we have made a good domestic start.

Europe was a failure and, to be honest, I don’t think we can mount a good Euro campaign, even if we do qualify, AND make a good attempt at10iar over the next 7 months.

    I’ll settle for making history.

There will be time enough for sackings if we lose out on it and there will be time enough for the team nad management to break up if we achieve it. I don’t expect Peter Lawwell will be there for an attempt on 11 iar but nobody needs to go just now.

I think Bankiebhoy1 was posting about Packy Bonnar … nae bother if my moniker cane up … been off the blog for a few weeks but my moniker seems to appear … I can remember any ding dongs with your self … but hopefully if merited we should disagree … I’d we don’t have same opinion about the Hoops … I’d we did have a barney I was probably right so we move on to Riga in Thursday :-) … :-) … seemingly smiley faces now even annoy the snowflakes from south Lanarkshire … I would keel the lot of them in the house 24hrs @ day … preferably with no internet access

  3. SFTB – thanks for the common sense, even if I’ve struggled with it since the Champions league qualifier (that’s right I can’t spell their name :)

Is it possible to not be playing well without seeming as though we are regressing? I am pretty sure it is but this doesn’t seem like it.

Regardless, I do have faith that we will come good – my only hope is it’s sooner rather than later.

    Yes, it is possible.

I cannot say that this is a decline or a “finding out about the team” phase.

The domestic results are too good to call it a decline. 6 wins and a draw out of 7 games is an above average start to a league campaign. We might know a bit more about whether its progress, treading water or regress, when we are a lot further into the season but, for now, I’m happy enough and I think many need to calm down a bit.

This is a long haul game and you can’t afford to get too bogged down by a feeling that it is not as good as you pictured it was gonna be.

All seasons are like this. That does not mean it is determined it will end the same as the previous 9 but worrying about it online will not change any important factor, other than your blood pressure.

    This team is doing well

    and

this team has a couple of gears yet to find

    are not incompatible statements.

I am not going to apologise to anybody for sticking up for Neil Lennon .. Neil isn’t perfect he probably manages the way his mentor St Martin managed .. bit even before a ball was kicked today some of the vitriol aimed at our manager was sickening …

“if” .. “when” we collect this title I actually hope Neil walks away … he gets enough shoite from most in the country he has decided to pay his taxes in …. a wee bit like Broony … we might not appreciate what we have until we don’t have it …

  18. Out for a bit…oooft,Dougie Ross would have a field day in here…:)

Very important 3pts, puts the pressure on the Govan team, recent history suggests they don’t handle that well. Let’s see what they’re made of now we have points parity with them.

  19. The Celtic juggernaut is lacking a bit of cohesion post Covid break, I fully trust Lenny and the coaches to make the adjustments the team/squad needs.

Keep the faith Bhoys and Ghirls!
