Bolingoli started against Livi last time when we lost

I think Ange has seen enough of him for him not to be an option for him

you leave paul mcstay out of it, that was just weird.

    Maestro flopped as a captain.

Your not going to lie about that are you?

Celtic captain missed a penalty v Raith Rovers in LCF 94 because he was terrified.

Its not Maestros fault that 4 capt material team mates left at the same time.

Roy Aitken, Tommy Burns RIP, Mark McGhee, Mick McCarthy.

Bolingoli had a very good game against Motherwell. He is the best natural left back available just now.

Don’t understand why we don’t play him and allow Juranuvic to play in his preferred position

    Sorry no maybes.

Cant have wee committees arguing with each other at the same renewal time every year, nothing gets agreed on and then the hun supporting PLC walk back in, unscathed, no matter what they do.

    Unacceptable.

The fans & PLC need removed as they make the swamp deeper year after year.

53k dunderheids = not good enough.

  6. After the high of Wednesday yesterday was hard to take thought our main weakness was lack of vision throuhout the team

Lots of endeavour but little artistic input

Penalty incident was a complete cock up but these things happen and was not my main concern

MIB don’t care how blatant they are now

    HH and keep the faith

  7. 40 year old Ibrahimovic, just back from serious injury, scores belter of a free kick for Milan against Mourinho’s Roma at the Olympic Stadium.

  8. Roma 0 Milan 2 ( Kessie penalty ). 18 minutes to go. Milan down to 10 men. Mourinho not happy.

Some suggesting that the booing at the end yesterday was directed at Madden – what utter nonsense, anyone at CP knows it was disgust at the team and management and angry frustration at a missed opportunity

Utter mince – Don’ know who you are speaking for, I have been going to see Celtic for 50 years not only have I never Boo’d the players off the park I’ve never seen any of my fellow Celtic supporters doing so – it doesn’t and never will help the cause. On the other hand I have never failed to boo off the crafty, cheating, winding up Celtic players, interrupting tempo of the game, every dirty trick in the book Sevco minded madden – since his first appearance. There have been many more before and after of a similar nature.

Don’t get caught up in the propaganda

That the game he handled the ball in the area and was lucky not to give away a penalty?

Don’t understand why we don’t play him and allow Juranuvic to play in his preferred position

    It’s not difficult

Because we were playing against Livingston and we lost against them when he started last time out, his first start of the season

Because we’re a weaker team with him instead of Juranovic in the team at left back

Because Ange, like his last 2 managers doesnt rate him, despite seeing him in training every day

  11. Jimmy not Paul at 6pm. Thanks for posting the result (1 nil ) from our ladies team’s cup win over sevco today. Fran Alonso is doing a grand job .

A wee bit late with my answer just back from the club………….didn’t see the miss as my stream cut out but on the whole we seem to be reluctant to have a few players in the box when we are crossing the ball.Watching the

West Ham game today there was no shortage of bodies waiting to attack the ball. This imo has been going on for a couple of seasons.I’m sure the coach will sort it out.😉😉

Apologies, I have missed the thoughts and well wishes towards you

Hope your feeling much better, and well n Road to recovery

Quiet sure a weewinwould havehelped yesterday

Take care no get well soon

  15. Celtic40me

Bolingoli was one of the very few players who played well that day.In both games he has started he has performed very well.A fact that most fans recognised.

The fact remains ,playing players out of position is never a good thing.Juranovic and Book ,pending Taylors return should be our full backs.

  16. Apart from the penalty, the most maddening thing for me in the game was the very poor performances of both Calmac and Turnbull.Hardly carved out any chances for the forwards and seemed content to play in front of Living. Both can shoot, zilch from either.

Very poor.Just passed the buck all game.

  17. Celtic40me,

Its a nonsense to play Juranovic at LB.You lose so much.Do you think Clark would be playing Robertson,KT,on the same wing if he thought he could switch one.Does not work .We have seen that it doesn’t.No idea what Ange is thinking.

  18. Thing is, Tony Ralston and Juranovic are both better than Boli, hence why he’s not featuring – it’s that simple. Scales is a squad player so he can’t expect much for the moment. Remember he was a DD punt. I hope he gets his moment and takes it nevertheless.

Celtic created enough opportunities against Livi to win the game comfortably, whatever it felt like. Problem was missed chances not no chances. You don’t get many with ultra-defensive opposing systems and you have to be more clinical when they come your way. But, GG is still not up to scratch and our CBs are not the best headers of the ball – yet! I suggest we need a set pieces coach – corners, free kicks, throw-ins and penalties. There were a few near misses from corners, a missed penalty, some woeful free kicks and wasteful throw- ins. We need to make improvements. But let’s not get carried away criticizing our own team. I watched the Leicester versus Arsenal game and I saw similar failings. I venture to say Celtic could come out well against Leicester on this showing. Moreover, the Arsenal goalie was the perfect advert for passing it out from the back – he never did it and almost every ball he kicked out from his area landed at the head or feet of an opposition player. Yet he made a wonderful save that everyone was talking about over the weekend. Stay positive. We’re on to a good thing. Encourage the players because it really helps. They all say so.

  19. I think I would have got over 0-0 by now if we hadn`t had a last minute, missed penalty to contend with.Huns winning 6-1 hasn`t helped either. Not too bothered about the Europa League so I need our next League game to be a victory to get me back on track.

    Golf so cheerio for now.

Perception means a lot in football. At the moment Ange is enjoying a mostly favourable attitude towards him.

Last season was our worst season in over two decades – our win rate was 58% in the league.

We’re entering November and Ange has a win rate of…58% in the league.

Ange is a very lucky man that he’s not under a lot more scrutiny than what he currently is. What we’ve seen so far is nowhere near good enough.

    ————————————————————————————————————————-

Context is everything. Last season we started on the back of finishing 13 points ahead of Sevco (albeit the season was cut short).

This season we started from a point of finishing 25 points behind them and having to almost totally rebuilding the first team with a manager who didn’t meet his squad until after pre-season training started.

There are signs that we are gradually improving while last season it was clear to everyone we were regressing.

That’s why Ange currently has currency.

  21. Not too bothered about the Europa League so I need our next League game to be a victory to get me back on track.

    —-

League is obviously the priority and a run of wins is now overdue.

However, I wouldn’t write Thursday off. It’s a game we should be looking to win. If we fail to collect at least a point then it only adds to the growing list of failures this season. Thursday is not a free hit.

  22. Great post Iljasb, also 2 excellent posts by greenpinta earlier on. Unfortunately some lhads got a bit too hysterical after the highs of Wednesday egged on by the Hun trolls, other Celtic boards are suffering similarly.

  23. European football is vitally important to us. It is the prize for league success.

Question : With the exception of playing the huns, does anyone think we would have >50,000 attendance in a league game on a working Tuesday afternoon. ?
