If you haven’t seen Barkas come for a cross ball since his arrival, that says more about your assessment abilities/opinion. He’s came and claimed many cross balls, imo.

Not saying I’m convinced by him, but your comment is unqualified imo.

  2. I have had it with ON.20/25 mins per match doesn’t cut it.The boy that scored the 2nd goal, ran past Olly to get to the edge of our box.Had enough of him. When TR and RC came on,we looked like our old selves.

Been a horrible fractured star to this seaso. What with the Griff carry on,the Bolingoli carry on, out of form main players ,then all the covid shit,I sincerely hope ,with a resounding victory at Pittoddrie,we can turn the corner and get our mojo back and carry on to the 10.Still behind the manager.Long, long way to go yet.

  3. Corkcelt- Duffy is an old fashioned no nonsense centre back… in my eyes.

Not a ball playing Franco Baresi (spelling).

Therefor his strengths lie in winning balls in the air and staying tight to centre forward, again simple stuff, but not in a back 3, go 4 at the back and consolidate just now.

Shut teAms out 4 – 4- 2 for me for a while to get into our groove.

    D :)

  4. Thought Ntcham was very poor in 1st half

Impressed with both Ajeti & Laxalt

And Ajer put £5m on his transfer fee

  5. A better second half lahds, let’s focus on that.

We move forward, learn, improve and feckin shoot on target 😂

    Bring on the sheep.

    D :)

  6. Barkas – Actually did nothing the whole game. Didn’t get near any of the goals and didn’t appear to dominate box despite knowing our lack of height, Very concerning.

Duffy – Not the main man we expected in that unit.

Ajer – Played well but needs to pressure possession better

Welsh – I thought he did well and won a few 1-1 duals. Lennon should NEVER have put him in a back 3

Laxalt – We need to do everything we can to keep him. He has it all!

Frimpong – Don’t forget his lack of experience. I think we are asking too much of him to defend and attack. He is dangerous and will soon get the assists his attacking play deserves.

Brown – Are we at the point we use him as a sub?

Ntcham – Sometimes I want to shake him into physicality. Great when in the mood but if he want to improve he needs to do the donkey work. Some fantastic passing from him tonight

Mcgregor – Needs a rest. He played well but must feel he is never going to be dropped and that’s an issue. He isn’t shooting as much.

Christie – Lively when he came on. Not as sharp with delivery but has been quarantined in a room for weeks. Cutting him some slack but always plenty of effort from him

Rogic – Play only in the pocket. Has the skill to unleash the forward players. Showed that in the last 20

Ajeti – Worked hard, Held the ball up well but was well policed by defenders who know how to defend

Griff – Superb delivery and worked hard. Needs more games and tonight was a step up too soon. Forced due to Eddie issue

Klimala – Did well and never hid. He will do well when we are hitting on the Break and midfield can pick him out (Turnbull)

Moi – Maybe I have high expectations but he has lost his mojo.

Lennon – What is he thinking putting a back three like that together against this team. I’m not sure he’d do that if he had more players available. Got the players to respond and will be happy with the 2nd half fast crisp passing!

Defense is a bit of a shambles – can Julien, El Hamed, Biton improve it ?

  7. RC

    Complete sense as usual.

Barkas looks 5’8″ not any better(as yet) than Bain

If we had bought Duffy we would be looking for a refund.

He looks like a refugee from the 70’s

Not all doom and gloom, Laxalt looks good, Some spirit

shown, Formation looked better second half.

  8. Duffy needs to sharpen up,Griffiths has played 15 minutes in how many months, don’t know what some are expecting from him just now. Ntcham looked a player released from his shackles when Scott went off.

  9. 3 5-2 is suicide, only played by amateur bosses.

Neil sorry mate you done have a clue , proved how bad you are when you changed it to 4 4 2 , we became a team. Duffy is a no nonsense center half and cant play 3-5-2.

Oliver is an imposter of a player

should have had Rogic and turnball for 2nd half

the substitute of Laxalt for Taylor proves Neil does not have clue, 1st time felt comfortable with Laxalt and he takes him off???

Christie streets ahead of any midfielder we have , sorely missed on sat.

Scott brown, ok now against lesser SPL teams, but that is all

should have added any dangerous crosses that matter into our box , he will come for nothing cross ball when no danger to our goal.

  11. Lennon was right to take off Laxalt – he has hardly played a competitive match in months. Push too hard and he gets injured. Taylor did ok and we protect Laxalt.

Same situ with Griff and Ajeti

  12. Was surprised by the Taylor/Laxalt substitution,

Maybe Lenny was thinking about Aberdeen game, beyond that it didn’t make sense.

  13. Go and get Jozo ,far better than Duffy who is to slow,I’ve been critical of Big Julien but a lot lot better than Duffy, and for the life off me 2 Players who cost a lot of money ,Turnbull and Soro not at the race’s.,as for Scott Brown who has been a magnificent player for us ,should be on the bench ,

  14. Shane Duffy will win us some domestic games in our quest for the 10. He has weaknesses and he has strengths, like all our players.

We rarely appreciate the players weh have when we have them. Virgil Van Dijk was a lackadaisickal, over-rated too-big-for-his-boots Dutchman when he was here, and attracted severl offers of free airport taxi transport.

Kieran Tierney was “never gonna be the same player again” after his injury.

Now, we have Kris Ajer as a converted, not a true centre half, who has no left foot and goes to ground too easily. Despite the truth of some of that, his abilities need to be measured in the round; a player is not defined by his greatest weaknesses.

Top teams will fancy Ajer because they fancy he will improve further. Decent teams will fancy Ntcham and Elyounoussi as they can see the technical qualities and can overlook their difficulties with “blood and snotter” fitba because it is rarely played that way in their league.

I did it too, in my initial assessment of Big Jullien and his frightening slow turning circle. He brought many other qualities last year that compensated for that weakness.

I dedect a greater appetite for nominating Scaegoat of the Match than for nominating Man of the Match.

I am encouraged by this performance tonight because, though it si a defeat and not to be celebrated, there was a resurgence of energy and fight that was wholly missing amongst everyone who played agaisnt Sevco.

Last weekend was truly shocking; tonight was not.

Which way will we jump on Sunday? Only continued improvement will get us the three points.

We’re pretty much all over the shop. The kind of result Deila delivered in Europe.

Don’t care about Europe at all this season, but our manager is all over the place.

A bit worrying that everything we change at the moment seems to be a reaction to something not working .

Agree fella. The best we can make of tonight is that it was better than last saturday. The recency bias.

Taken on its own, it was 25 minutes of a Tom Rogic-inspired comeback of relative chaos and 2 shots on target, when Milan switched off.

We all feel punchdrunk at the moment biut the same systemic nonsense prevails.

Despite our eyes, I expect Brown/Ntcham/Callum axis, Duffy and probably Christie playing alongside Ajeti all on Sunday.

    Nital…..

  20. Barkas should be rested for a couple of games imo because he Is either lacking confidence (you couldn’t really blame him with our defence) or Ernie is right. I cannot think of one important save he’s made and believe he should have done better with the Ferencvaros winner, should have saved Sevco’s 1st goal and was hopelessly out of position and flat footed for Milan’s 2nd goal. He’s also too quiet and slight for my liking but that’s just because I want my goalies to intimidate both friend and foe alike and command their area

  21. Big Wavy,

Duffy will play because none of Bitton, Julian or Elhamed are available.

But yes I think you are probably spot on.

Only thing is that I think Lenny will be quicker to make substitutions, if needed.

    Bada bing @ 10:58 …

Care to say from whom you heard such confidential medical information?

  23. Stepboy.

So Duffy needs 3 players around him to make him effective?

We would need to have 14 players to make him a player.

  25. Hit a new low when posters say it was not a bad result. My god we have gone down hill in a year or so.

    Sunday is massive.

  26. Tim, Not sure anybody is saying not a bad result, maybe not a bad performance compared to the Hun debacle.

I absolutely agree, Sunday is massive.
