We lost in Amsterdam because we were not good enough to win on the night but this is the first time where we contributed to our own defeat by two losses of defensive organisation. Whether you play zonal or man to man you need the discipline to be where you are supposed to be.
Milan are not good enough to beat us 3:0 but that is the score and it’s very sore.
Although I criticise the 2 defensive mistakes, we really needed an early goal to make Milan doubt themselves. For all our bravery in taking men on, we were very unbalanced in our deployment up front.

Also great similarities to Juve game, Milan clinical when they needed to be (4 shots on target compared to our 9?), we concede awful early goal, and early in second half the CB culpable for the goal misses a sitter!
Make sure we have league wrapped up soon, need to prepare for quailifiers from Jan, that includes the transfer window

If we can learn lessons it won’t have been a waste.

We’re at a crossroads.
We may continue to be dominant domestically with the current strategy but we must accept that we can’t compete at European level.
The alternative is that we loosen the purse-strings and pursue a more speculative policy in the transfer market.
If we maintain the status quo, I fear we will likely do it without our current manager. He will have offers in the summer from richer leagues and may well feel he’s done as much as he can with the resources at his disposal here. Can we attract someone better?
It’s a dilemma for the board and if I were in their shoes I’m not sure which way I’d jump.
GerryBhoy on
We couldn’t score in a brothel at this level with what we have on board.
It is that simple; sadly.
Badly beaten, by a team who haven’t won in their last 7 games.
Worst performance and result at home in European for a long time.
This makes it clear that our scouting and procurement strategies and our coaching capabilities are seriously deficient.

As Hugh McIlvanney wrote, when you take a beating the only thing you can do is to grab the very next opportunity to show that you, too, are good at your game. That’s what we need to do. Disappointed tonight but I am, have always been and will always be Celtic through and through. There will still be good days this season and the next…and next…and next…

Honestly expected tonight to put milan back on their way to confidence, as I said a few times karagandy was the highlight of the season, everything else has been a bonus.
If you think money will be spent improving the team you need to get your head looked at, we could afford to improve the team this season the board done something we are told they dont do, they gambled, trick being they gambled down, the supporters concerns were dismissed when it came to expectation and I think they will suffer next season, so they wont spend money. Tough times ahead and its all down to taking the money cow for granted, those that support the plc over the club will have their choice of seats next season.

With no more european football I would give serious consideration to punting the players who won’t be with us next season (for whatever reason) and get some players in with the cash raised. Give them half a season ahead of next years qualifiers.

Their football is corrupt from the ball boys to the owners.
there’s narrow margins operating in the CL – losing key players has tipped us down for now, another couple of vvds and we’ll be back up

We certainly missed Scott Brown in the games I’ve seen, from what I saw and heard, we missed him tonight too.
stick ’em up front philbhoy :)
Milan will be delighted to have been gifted a win.
I am going to see them in Catania on Sunday.
Catania will give them a game.
And a goal scoring striker.
sftb
Does that mean we were not good enough?
Very disappointing.
Schoolboy defending for first two goals, in fact worse, not many school teams would’ve conceded like that.
At 1-0 VVD’s miss was atrocious.
Out of Europe, fair play to Ajax for beating Barca.
Would just love a good perfromance at the Nou Camp, and perhaps a goal!!!!!!!
Our brilliant support not been given enough this season
To be fair, hardest group imaginable but still should’ve done much better last 2 games, could’ve got 3-4 points, ended up with 0.
