    Poor performance so far. Schoolboy defending for their goal. Stupid fouls been given away all over the park. Passing in final third woeful. Really disappointing again on the big stage. Got to find a way to get ourselves into this game

    Getting the ball wide is ineffectual unless you have a real target man in the middle.

    Forster is a fine shot stopper but a poor keeper as far as his ability to defend his area is concerned. Was at fault for the goal. 6′ 7″ FFS….he needs to come for that. Poor.

     

    Other result not going our way, sadly.

    Lots of effort, decent amount of possession, we’re getting the ball in the box…but we just don’t really look like scoring. Same old story.

    If we stick with the 2 wide men, then we need to give Balde a run in the second half. I love Sammi to bits but he ain’t a target man.

    This campaign has been poor and I don’t even think it’s that hard a group. Best players are at the back we have zero creativity. With our resources we have no right to do better, probably just spoilt last season.

    Have not read the comments but I feel all our players are up for this. Each one of them has already taken on their direct opponent in a run, tackle or dribble. They are showing a desire and bravery in their options.

     

     

    However, one moment of madness where VVD left his area to try to win a ball that was not there has cost us.

     

     

    We are playing an energy sapping pressing game and, with a goal conceded, we are taking chances at the back. Balotelli, Kaka and Birsa will not keep on missing.

     

     

    Milan are vulnerable to a ball into channels but in the centre of the box we have done little as yet.

     

     

    Next goal is decisive. We must score before they get too comfortable and confident.

    We have a keeper who cannot dominate his 6 yard box; never mind his penalty area. He is NOT in charge of his job description. Am absolutely amazed that he is in the Engurland picture, no matter that they have such poor keeper pool.

    Hard to be too critical.

     

     

    We are playing against a team who are a higher class.

     

     

    We haven’t enough players who can bring a ball under control instantly and shield it.

     

     

    That’s what buys you the time. As a result, we are always out of our comfort zone and chasing.

     

     

    This saps the energy.

     

     

    That is not to say that Milan are a very good team, but they have more accomplished players.

    Well this sums up the entire CL campaign for me.

     

     

    Good start, giveaway bad goals, no delivery, no midfield and no ability to keep the ball.

     

     

    Milan haven’t won away this season said the commentator- anyone wanna bet that will end tonight?

     

     

    Mulgrew is not a midfielder, he is doing his best and it is not his fault nor the manager’s that we are so short in midfield but we can see huge swathes of this game where there is no Celtic player in the midfield and Milan are running through the huge gaps as Ajax did.

     

     

    That goal? Utterly criminal defending.

     

     

    Now there are two ways we look at this –

     

     

    shockingly bad replacing of the side which did so well last season and poor support from the board

     

     

    or

     

     

    this year is a transitional year and major surgery needs to take place in time for next year.

     

     

    I am not too angry with the performance but like so much of this year’s CL – so much unnecessary pain is being caused by stupid mistakes on the part of individuals and a portion of bad luck.

     

     

    There is very little chance Milan will not beat us or at worst leave with a point tonight. They are better organised, they have defenders who can defend, they have something to hold onto and they have some excellent players we cannot afford.

     

     

    Sadly it is looking like Barcelona are not at their best having qualified.

     

     

    This side we have needs a shake up and Celtic must be building for next year.

    Izzy our best man in first half.Hate to say it but we have no striker to make the runs.Not one player in our side is a proper striker.What do we expect.They have one,Ballotelli,his movement giving us all sorts of problems.We just cant compete at this level properly without a goalscorer.

    I’m no a fitbaw manager, never was, we have two wingers, who is it they are crossing the ball too, Sammi?? Our midfielders who never get beyond the last defender?? Wee Jamesy Maw who should know better than to let him lot at night?? Frustrating to be behind after we started so well…

     

     

    I have no answers just ma wee green prayers…
