    eh?

  3. The 4-3-3 implied by @celticfc twitter seems odd. Everything tells me Celtic should win easily, but I thought Ronny would go with something tried and trusted when under pressure.

These players have little or no experience of playing alongside their teammates in this formation, so why take the risk?

Could this be the result of the ‘clear the air’ talks?

  4. Happy Mother’s Day from the East Coast.

A good victory today will be a nice way to celebrate.

  5. RONNY Deila has made four changes to his team for the visit of Greenock Morton in today’s Scottish Cup quarter-final tie following Wednesday’s 0-0 draw with Dundee at Paradise in the SPFL.

The Hoops boss has reshuffled his backline and has also tweaked his formation for the visit of the Championship outfit.

Opting for a 4-3-3 approach, the manager has moved Charlie Mulgrew into central defence at the expense of Dedryck Boyata, while Stefan Johansen and Callum McGregor have also returned to the starting XI to partner Scott Brown in midfield.

Kris Commons, who came on as a late sub in the mid-week stalemate, will start on the right of the front three, with Leigh Griffiths deployed in his usual central role and Gary-Mackay-Steven completing the changes for the Celts on the left.

Patrick Roberts, Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong have all dropped out but keep their place in the squad by starting on the bench.

Kick-off is at 12noon and there will be pre-match build-up and live in-game updates via the official Celtic Twitter account @celticfc

CELTIC (4-3-3) Gordon; Lustig, Sviatchenko, Mulgrew, Tierney; McGregor, Brown, Johansen; Commons, Griffiths, Mackay-Steven

Subs: Bailly, Rogic, Roberts, Ambrose, Kazim-Richards, Forrest, Armstrong

  6. Gordon; Lustig, Sviatchenko, Mulgrew, Tierney; McGregor, Brown, Johansen; Commons, Griffiths, Mackay-Steven

Subs: Bailly, Rogic, Roberts, Ambrose, Kazim-Richards, Forrest, Armstrong

  7. a high tempo going forward and not a sideways or backwards team selection , time will tell

  8. Philbhoy,

    Good point.

What’s the odds on a Celtic sending off today?

    And a debatable handball incident/tackle?

Speaking as a non+bettimg man, is there any way of us layimg loads of bets on the possibility of incdents against Celtic like penalties sending offs and so making these u unprofitable bets? Honestly, if this happened and these became unattractive, I have a feeling this would have an effect on referees’ behaviour.

Not that I think referees, having the power to influence/control the way a match goes, would ever use that powr for anyone to gain financially.

  9. McGregor and Johansen to provide drive going forward, Broony to keep the back door locked, Kris to provide a little give and go to unlock the Morton defence, GMS to directly challenge their defence by running at and going past players!

    Mon the Hoops

Do you think either Commons or Mackay-Steven has the pace to play wide attack in a 4-3-3?

  12. up_over_goal

There’s no pace in the team and I wouldn’t have played Kris today, my post was what I think Ronny is thinking and hoping his players deliver..

GMS should be going past players he’s fast enough and tricky enough…

  13. Sunny day at Paradise.

A large cloud has descended as I’ve just heard WC Willie Collum is the referee

  14. Tom Boyd is better than SuperSutton on

I’ve check overhead at Celtic Park and can confirm there is no chance of lightning striking twice.

Good support in from Morton. Expect they will out noise our dispersed support.

  15. JF in the squad, Defies belief but let’s hope for a long awaited big performance from the Bhoys.

Hello this is WEE BGFC. Dont understand playing Mulgrew and Brown they were the two worst players on the park on Wednesday. 7-0 to the Hoops!

Even the Green Brigade look like they are operating at 50% capacity.

  18. Another ludicrous selection – mcgregors turn to come in from nowhere. Allan ? He is cuptied for making a forward pass ? Cup had no started when he played for Hibs. What did Roberts do wrong on Wed?

  19. dr ramesh and the love potion on

Glad to see McGregor back. He moves the ball quickly and always moves into space. It’s something we have lacked lately.
