Kev Jungle Morning Fella I hope life is being good to you. What you say in your post is correct the board have and are failing the support my feelings are that all the board appear to be interested in is money. However as Celtic supporters we have urged them to tell us the full story of there involvment in the Rangers scandal and what action if any they proposed. Now they have continuely failed to inform the support but now the support have a chance to take action and show the football world they are not supportive of the current Scottish football situation and want nothing to do with the cheating. However I do not think there is a snowballs chance in Hell that the Celtic support will take action as to me they are all talk and no action and in my opinion when you as a support are like that you have no right to point the finger at the Celtic board for doing the same thing.Well im aff oot tae the gairden. H.H.

KEVJUNGLE – Yer a genuis and a Celtic legend, but here… it’s ludicrous to blame SFTB for any of this zombie charade.

    Seriously.

Listen to me – I don’t get along at all with SFTB, but a have a certain degree of respect for the bloke.

He goes to see his team, as far as I know.

    Ye can’t argue with that.

That’s me finito for a few weeks anyway.

Unfortunately there’s a considerable % of our support that still buy into the ‘Old Firm’ myth. I’ve overheard enough folk chatting about it in CP to think we could sell our Hampden allocation to that type alone, never mind the folk that don’t buy into it but still want to support the team.

Re the semi final, anyone up for getting under their skin again, just like we did for our first meeting last February?

    ————-

Just my opinion, but I would say do absolutely nothing.

The point about them being a new club was well made last year.

Anything more would just be giving them attention they don’t deserve.

Treat them as we would St Mirren, Ayr or Annan. That will get under their skin more than anything!

Collum has a Duty of Care re the safety of the players, yet he walked off at HT yesterday without a care in the world, and Johansen is lying in agony after a disgraceful tackle.he is totally incompetent and not fit for purpose.

Playing Hunco is an acid test of Lawwell’s stewardship over the last 4 years.

My expectation was that we would be on a very higher level when we we met again given the financial and playing advantages we would have enjoyed while the new club developed in to a top league outfit.

Right now I feel we are marginally better. However the game itself will prove the point one way or another.

If the Huns were to win then I’d expect Lawwell to front up any press conference and explain himself.

I think he’d say ‘they went bust – we didn’t’. For many happy clapping CQNers that would be sufficient.

The talking can now stop . It’s time for action.

If the score is close in our favour – what does that say about our player purchasing strategy?

If we romp it. Lawwell should still front the post match conference up and give folk like me the V( for victory).

  10. FYI

Van Gaal blames Mata’s stupidity for sending off.

Wenger blames Coquelin’s lack of discipline for his ordering off.

  11. Morning Timland from a cool hun free mountain valley.

    Mr Pastry

    From last night.

Why should I worry what I write, seriously ?

Anyways, the club are imo staying silent cos it’s all about the money, they want the OF rivalry back.

I don’t buy the club are staying silent because of the court cases, there have been numerous times for them to comment, they have chosen not to, the illegal registration of players should have been challenged, big time, the DOS scheme, when it has been wildly accepted that they were due this money and hasn’t been paid should have been challenged, that was blatent cheating.

But most of all and I reckon that I speak for the majority of supporters is their silence on the same club myth.

The old huns died, FACT, the phoenix version are not the same club, had our suits came out and quashed the myth that they are the same club, I reckon the majority of the support would be happy with this.

The smsm printed that the huns died in their papers, even walturd, traynor et all stated that they died, yet we didn’t officially, why not, this is what I believe is sticking in the craw of the support.

As for the stripping of the trophies they won during the EBT cheating years, I agree that the court cases will have to be over to decide, but I will wager even if they are proven to have cheated due to the EBT’s the club will still stay silent.

Shame, cos the suits are all about the money, and speaking out would imo bring many supporters back into the fold, they are just too stupid to see this, or scared more likely, they don’t have the balls to stand up to the cabal.

We’ve actually got a pretty decent record against Rangers down the years.

I can understand your reasoning, however We can never miss an opportunity to remind Scottish Football and beyond , that we are not daft and time will never alter the fact that the old Huns are like a Dodo and the new huns are a new club.

If the truth hurts or inconveniences some, then tough.

    Hail, Hail.

I’ve been thinking about the relative difference in squads and available budgets over the last few days (not much just mulling it). The tv money is so pitiful up here that the difference between Premiership winners and losers isn’t really that significant. What really separates budgets is ticketing and marketing.

I was primarily looking at Aberdeen to start with. They’re turnover is about 1/3 of ours and their wage bill about 1/5 but then so is their number of staff. While we will be paying way more at the upper end I suspect that some of their players will be on comparable wages – you get what you pay for and so the difference in quality won’t be as much as we’d hoped.

Bringing this back to our SF opponents. We know they’re employing some Premiership level players and probably paying them the appropriate wage. Of course they’re loss making at least in part because they can’t charge Premiership ticket prices yet. It’ll be a challenge and I suspect it’s their players that have been heralded as stars that might look most average but the likes of Wallace etc will probably be up to it.

Ultimately it may well be the ‘Old Firm’ fans that provide the financial boost we need to keep ahead of them. That’s quite galling.

KevJ…..sorry sir for slow response but dug took me for a walk.

EWB was in charge of Glasgow City fitba team (the ladies) when I met him and now manager of

a phoenix team, Airdrie. He had a stroke during Saturday’s game v Cowdenbeath but apparently

is now recuperating…and for that I’m pleased. He is a Dundonian (not his fault) and as I said, a good football man.
