There were folks on here earlier predicting 6-0, 3-0 etc; They need to get a grip and face reality.
I predicted 7-0
With the amount of possession I underestimated what it SHOULD have been
Well, football results are achieved by……………………… scoring goals…………correct?
We could have played for a week with that set up without success.
Manager’s call. How did that look?

Imagine telling Jimmy Johnstone or George Best NOT to take a man on if a simple pass is available

Palma as a pen taker is a no go. One trick pony.
Turnbull preferred and not just for his effort today.

at the agm BR talked about quality and development players , how long does it take to develop a player as we have players like AR and MJ who have never developed into quality and yet they are still playing first team for us , both shouldn’t be at Celtic Park never mind first team.

What I hoped would be a good day in a Celtic friendly bar in Rome and in sadness. Could not understand Yang ‘s constantly turning inside. The inclusion of M J was incredible. The only thing he did was to get his Jersey pulled.
We need a goalie quickly. Good full backs would help.
How did Kelly get away with always crossing the line when he was kicking the ball out? Oh, I forgot the red did not worry about that. Why? If course, the usual answer.

November 6, 1965, we returned from a ECWC 1-0 win in Denmark injury free and so again fielded the same side for this game, the only home one we failed to win all season against Maryhill Magyars who had just won their first game.
In a turbulent game in which 2 harry wraggs were booked we almost went behind twice due to Big Billy being posted missin amidst a shaky defence with oul Ronnie saving the day, we did eventually take the lead 6 minutes from the break with Joe McGoals sweeping the ball high into the roof of the net.
Although we pushed for a second in the second half Celtic the sizzle equalised when Bobby Murdoch failed to clear and the ball was pushed through to Celtic reject Jim Conway, a player we signed instead of both Joe and Gerry Baker when we had scouted all 3, found the corner of the net.
FYI there were 7 Lisbon Lions that afternoon plus 2 players who were instrumental in our glorious last minute winner victory against Vojvodina Charlie Gallagher and the Bear.

Ended in sadness. Red should be ref, of course. Should not have had that extra glass of wine at dinner.

Who have we signed in the last two transfer windows that has improved the first team. By improved I mean someone who has come in and displaced an existing starter because they were better?
AJ is a good like-for-like replacement for JJ, replacement being the operative word.
Apart from that?
No one.
The recruitment has simply been dreadful.

Truth.
Why anyone would expect improvements is way beyond.
We have downsized since last year, we are unbeaten in the League and have had one bad half in Europe (okay, it was a doozy).
If you accept development players, accept a development season.
I was just thinking of Gerry and Joe Baker, Tommy Bryceland and Pat Quinn yesterday. Would have loved all 4 at Parkhead. Football players each and every one.

How many who were there today, or on here tonight were there on 7th April 2008 ?
Booing a team which had won 2 leagues in a row against and reached the last 16 in CL for first time ever and for 2 seasons in a row.
A team losing 1-0 at home to Motherwell. A Celtic team which would win 3 leagues in a row on Tommy Burns Thursday at Tannadice. A team which were the first Celtic team I ever heard booed off the park by their own supporters.
I remember being disgusted at what I thought was arrogant behaviour befitting of the other lot.
Todays booing went almost unmentioned. It seems to be normalised now a days in our consumers expectations.
Personally I was never thinking our rivals were so bad this season but their consumers drove out their manager who had lost 3 domestic games vs our 1 and 1 draw at that stage.
They have now lost 3 games vs our drawn 3 we should have won and lost a league cup tie.
They spent big and money they don’t have. They have blown more on a panic management change and they are determined. We can’t afford more like today but we also can’t afford to tear ourselves apart. We lost 2 good players and more importantly a really good coach in the close season. We have 3 really big contributors all injured. We came back from an international break where most of our players were away and our opposition were not. We will have more adversity to deal with this next 5 weeks. I hope we can show the spirit (on and off the park) we showed in April and May 2008, when the team and support did pull together and win the league against a rangers team which got to the Europa cup final.
There are many more who would like to see us implode. Just as they did. Like the guy who allowed their goalie to waste time for 100 minutes today. The same who didn’t red card Mugabe for his foul on Oh.
My point is that the next 5 weeks are critical. We have 4 home games. 4 games where support will be critical if we want to win and not abuse.
As for the assholes calling radio stations etc. They really do need help in my opinion.

31003 @ 7:51 PM,
Jimmy Johnstone was my favourite player, a winger par excellence.
The thing is, he would beat the whole defence, go back and beat them all again.
A brilliant spectacle of football.
Still, as the years progressed it occurred that there was often little end product.
So I asked on here, how come big Jock, who I grew to understand was a very pragmatic football manager put up with this indulgence.
Someone older and wiser (might have been TONTINE TIM) told me, while Jinky was tieing up the defence on the right wing, we had Bobby on the left;)
Ah!!
Big Jock was quite smart
