  1. Brilliant turnout for Captain Fantastic.

Was not a bad game for a friendly.

Only a great save from the Irish keeper denied Henrik a goal after a brilliant Ollie pass.

Young Johnson looks to have it and can replace Paddy.

Calvin Miller is a wing back and in a back three would thrive.

Young Regan Hendry looks ready to contribute as he is strong on the ball and makes good choices.

Incredible support deserve lots of praise.

Having cyber-conversed for a few years,it was a pleasure to meet you. Obviously I expect that pleasure to be somewhat regular.

What I didn’t expect from a cyber-correspondent was a wee photie of you and Mrs D in resplendent wedding attire

Yer a guid lad,Andy. And Mrs D is well worthy of a winner like yourself.

  3. BMCW!!

How are ye keeping mate? Still on the mend I hope!

I am sure this weekend proved to be a great pick me up for you!

Shoot me a note when you get a chance

    Get well soon..

  4. Mickey Johnston stole the show. Reagan Hendry looked very useful when he came on. (And Jack Hendry was very good too).

    What happened to Paddy McCourt?

    Not a bother,mate. Seems yer lad’s place has a lovely diner,Romy’s.

Bit far for me,but, blinkin’ flip,I’m thinking about it!

Then again,my wee pet hun phoned me from Dublin today,he will be in Belfast in three weeks. His first sentence was-FFS,ye seen the prices over here?!!!!

A former luminary of this site stayed, with his friends,in Thornbury every year when they went down to Cheltenham.

Me,personally? I’d have stayed in Cheltenham. Like,aw hell, how do we get back? Sod it,I’ll deal with it the morra.

Good sir, I am looking forward to getting a date in the diary next season for a match and good swally down London way (rail replacement permitting) .

I’ve only met a few CQNers and I’m delighted to have made your acquaintance and had great correspondence with you. Celtic – a club like no other? CQN – a blog like no other!

    Aye,moi aussi!!

    Or,in Scottish,bring it on,who’s round is it!!!

I rather enjoyed my wee day oot in Paradise today. Thought Mikey Johnston was excellent, as was Regan Hendry second half. That young Henrik Larsson chap looked a yard off the pace but still made the keeper pull off a great save.

  9. What is the Stars on

I think Larsson is over rated. Dont think he will make a professional career

Not good enough for Celtic. Thats for sure

  10. Delaneys Dunky on

Hope you enjoyed your Double Treble Celtic weekend in Glesca D.

Not worth the £650k being quoted.

    Reminds me,when I first came down here,Nov 2001. 2002 World Cup,as per,English people thought winning it was a gimme.

Getting slightly p’d off with my colleagues at work,I asked them a simple question.

I’ve got a score here which says Henrik Larsson will score more goals than ANY England player. Not a named player, anyone in the squad

    Who’s interested?

Surprised by the response, tbh. I’d have thought they’d have run away and hid,but no.

Seven of them actually asked for double or quits with Michael Owen!

  12. What is the Stars on

    Splendid all round fun.

Ended up blasting out the Rebs in a pub in Falkirk.

Thats something you don’t see very often.

Thanks to Angel Gabriel for organising a ticket for me and to VFR the great Cqn motor bike courier for delivering same ??

  13. Delaneys Dunky on

Brilliant M. When I stayed in England, the English fitba team supporters often reminded me of a fan base fae Govan way.

  14. Enjoyed that today, great to see Henrik again and i had a wee tiny lump in my throat when Paddy went off. It was only a friendly of course but one or two of the youngsters look very good indeed. Regan Hendry looked very powerful and Johnston has sublime skill and oozes confidence.

  15. Livi get promoted against a hapless Thistle.

Sammon missed a penalty right at the end.

Time to start wearing extra shinnies If their display against Dundee Utd was anything to go by.

    HH jamesgang

Ah,get the next one. Who’s counting?

  17. WITS

If VFR didn’t fit 5 people on his bike like you did for us in Dublin then you’re a better man than him!!

    HH to yous both.

  18. McPhail Bhoy on

So Livi promoted? Another worn carpet excuse of a pitch I hear. This has to stop to play in Scotland’s top tier either have a natural grass pitch in good condition or stick to 5 a side

  19. Delaneys Dunky on

A big thank you from Ryan and I. Great wee day oot in Paradise for us. Having a coupla pints now.

    Irie ??

  20. embramike says ” Yer team’s deid…Beat it!” on

So Livingston in the Premiership next season and Thistle relegated. Big John Harrison has been filling in as the striker coach at Livingston this season.

Just a pity they are looking at a 4G pitch for next season. That would mean 25% of next season’s away matches on artificial surfaces with Accies and that ‘rubber crumb’ mess at Killie !

Plus there’s Hertz “long grass” – although they are installing a hybrid pitch so how is Levein going to grow the artificial 10% !

There is a UEFA reg about grass length – 30mm – but how would mini huns know that !

  21. Plastic pitch is a bummer right enough but they Huns must be spewing, not getting to their famous Firhill next season.

  22. What is the Stars on

The pub in Falkirk was the appropriately named The Star.

I agree there wouldnt be many in Falkirk that would be described as Celtic Minded. However that pub and one other( that I cant think of the name of right now) were flying the Green Flag deep behind enemy lines. …

Falkirks Green and White ????….eh not quite ??

  23. Just reading on Twitter that Hamilton and Kilmarnock are going back to grass next season.

  24. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

I switched between the game at Firhill and the Celtic Women v Hibs Ladies game.

In terms of football ability, the Hibs girls were miles ahead of the other three teams on view…..and that is not an exaggeration.

  25. i'vehadtochangemyname on

A small part of me is looking forward to a quick drop into ff on the day we win 10iar

My old boss, who lurks on here, helps run a supporters bus from Falkirk.

They call themselves The Pioneers, so that’s really good work,by you, behind enemy lines. :-)

    Hail Hail

  27. Stars

Appropriate right enough, can you help me out as to it’s whereabouts ,

The Mrs was brought up there and isny any help either.
