I think, Jack lost his father recently and Celtic offered him time off, but he preferred to go on loan … I might have picked that up wrong but I think Forest Green move suited all parties … got a feeling it’s a 18mth loan but pretty sure Celtic would have the option to have him back if required… let’s hope Jack uses this loan spell like Callum MacGregor did with Notts County :-)

  2. It’s getting very difficult for Lenny picking his team’s now.Wee Johnny playing like a demon at LB.I said previously, that he was not a natural back, and he is not but it does not seem to matter to him.Doing the role excellently.Frimpong defying his years with great performances. His speed from a standing start, blistering.

Ollie is a class act in the middle,as is Biton. They keep the ball moving effortlessly think Calmac could be given a wee break more. One or two rested in games, could help .Loving the team at the moment.

Julien.Only problem with Ajer is in the air.For his height,he is not the best,in both boxes.Apart from that, love his effort.

Jullien is a stand out for me.

I am beginning to think we have Home and Away full backs.

    Frimpong at Home and Elhamed Away;

Hayes /Bolingoli at Home and Taylor Away.

Thanks. I did think you meant Jullien but that I was not certain shows that, with Simunovic in reserve, we are looking strong in an important area.

I have to say, though, that I still feel a wee bit uncertain re Jullien. Perhaps strangely, I feel comfortable with Bitton.

Strangely enough, I think Bitton is a terrific footballer but when playing at the back my heart is in my mouth watching him… maybe because he is so confident in his ability that transfers to me thinking he is lackadaisical

    I suppose it’s all about opinions :-)

  7. Hello again all you young rebels.

Well i had Paddymac out for a wee drink and a blether on Saturday.

Just a quite coupla hours while our Celtic ghirls tore about the town lol.

No doubt he got a real fright with his illness but he’s getting back to

his best now, he’s got an angiagram ( spl ) tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Thought he was going to need it in the pub when a hun surfaced from

god knows where ” great results for the old firm and Scottish fitba eh?

Whit? there’s no feckin old firm thats a new team you support.

” Whit aboot wee moreloss eh? another European goal, thats him worth

    about 50 million now.”

Thought Paddy was going to have a relapse.

You would need another 100 million on that tae pay off yir debt ya twat.

” ach just pennies we’ll sell him and buy young Lawrence Shankland, he’s

ragers daft and he’s going to be the next Denis Law ”

” you would be better buying Lawrence of Arabia you silly old sod ”

Don’t recall. Leigh Griffiths & Afolabi are close to fitness.

If Aitchison is doing well, leave him where he is. We can benefit from that next season.

What you don’t want is to take him away from successful first-team football only to shove him back in the reserves when everyone is fit.

  9. We should only sell Bitton in January if we are signing another CB.

Does Lennon rate O’Connell enough to rely on him as the 3rd or 4th option?

  10. Nice one Mick. Driving home from yesterday’s game I was listening to some of the callers into Radio Clyde. A Celtic fan came on pretending to discuss the match but then suddenly asked whether Hugh (Keevins) thought that the fact that Rangesr(sic) were £10M in debt (his figures) would affect the outcome of the title race, given Celtic’s likelihood to spend in the January window. Hugh began to acknowledg that problem but was interrupted by the genius that is Alex Rae who shouted ‘but Rangers are debt free – all the loans were converted into shares and there’s no debt’!! My son nearly crashed the car. Unfortunately Hugh just replied with a very general ‘well we’ll agree to differ’ and the show moved on.

Head in the sand time again for them, I fear.

  11. I expect to be hammered here, bearing in mind the sensitivity surrounding the Poppy debate.

From my perspective, I feel the club has let itself down by the team not electing to wear the poppy yesterday.

At the end of the day, we are a Scottish club, founded by an Irishman, but we are Scottish after all. Let us not forget the number of Celtic players killed , fighting for Britain in two world wars, and for that matter, the Irish regiments who assisted Britain with huge casualties.

In my mind i feel it was not clever of us not to wear the poppy, if for nothing else, it gives ammunition to those who hate us, and there are many.

    Hail Hail

  12. ” In my mind i feel it was not clever of us not to wear the poppy, if for nothing else, it gives ammunition to those who hate us, and there are many.”

Maybe `not too clever` but honest.

` it gives ammunition to those who hate us,`

Hardly a good reason to wear a poppy.

As I said yesterday, if it really were all about `Freedom`, then the `Freedom` not to wear one should meet with acceptance rather than disapproval.

Not much `Freedom` evident on the BBC .

  13. King Lubo, with all due respect, once upon a time it was a dignified event. it is no longer. I recall when you put your penny in the tin and took a poppy from the tray and pinned it to your lapel.

Nowadays it’s cannons, abseiling and walking talking poppies with big banana feet.

It just doesn’t feel right to me…
