    There’s plenty ahead in the queue of Callum for stick …. in a more structured pattern of play Callum …. left side broke down when Diego appeared and everyone scurrying about trying to cover … not sure about wilful ?

     

     

    Still we get another chance in midweek , agree with you Leigh and Diego a definite no for both of these lhads ….

    Couple of ghuys mentioned a Videocelts article earlier which seemed to get to them a bit. So I thought I might have a wee look.

     

    The headline screams that Lenny outlines his plan to manage Celtic for the next 3 or 4 years.

     

    It then goes on a long rant about all our failures (real and perceived) before it actually gets to an actual quote. The main part being;

     

     

    I believe we have a fine squad and it’s just not been our year. Hopefully that can change over the next one, two, three, four seasons going forward.

     

     

    There is no mention from Lenny that he will be here next season never mind in 3 or 4 seasons time. He doesn’t even express the hope that he will be here.

     

    A nonsense story to cause outrage in our support.

     

    Whilst I was there, 2 other headlines/stories caught my eye.

     

    The first was about how Lenny privately visited some of our unsettled players. A lot of people might actually think this is a positive step by our manager. You know, as in talk things out, address concerns and maybe even resolve issues.

     

    However Videocelts headlines this story as “bizarre “. It takes a certain twisted logic or perhaps it is hate to present these actions as bizarre..

     

    The other headline was about how Celtic scored an own goal over the Davies transfer.

     

    It turns out that we inserted an injury-free clause into our deal. A fairly common sense approach one might think to offset the chance that your new arrival might need an operation or something. Recent history concerning David Turnbull will bear that out.

     

    I have never really bothered much with the Videocelts site before, and after taking a look this time, will probably not be back.

     

    These headlines would have not seemed out of place in the Sun or Record but not from what is purportedly a Celtic site

    Having taught briefly in a private school, I can assure you that ‘bought’ education is no guarantee of intelligence, class or decency.

     

    Same as private hospitals aren’t filled with kind, uber-fit, supermodels!

     

     

    And having played rugby for many years, I can also assure you that, great game though it is, in many countries it has more than its share of bigots, bullies and bams.

    Parkheadcumsalford , your earlier post re the treatment of our players by the opposition and then not getting the correct colour of card.

     

     

    I completely agree with you . I’m certain there has been no opposition player red carded in any of our league games. Retrospective red cards don’t count for me.

     

     

    I count in at least eight of our league games an opposition player should have walked plus Naismith in the cup final.

     

     

    Dicker for his cynical foul on Ed last August: Sibbald of Livi for his knee high challenge on Christie : Davidson and Gordon at McDermid Park : Morelos twice against us and Cole twice too .

     

     

    In two of these games , yesterday and at McDermid Park, it was the same ref .

     

     

    We have been dire on and off the pitch this season but the above shows that our match officials are, as they always have been , very lenient to opposition players.

    That’s the whole thing about these clickbait sites . They are masters at baiting the hook by putting up a misleading headline . Also , because some of them appear to be written by Celtic fans , it doesn’t mean they are .

    Team fell apart after Browns departure yesterday.We need to harness his experience for the remaining games. The keystone cops headless chicken stuff of the last 10 mins drains the confidence and that hinders development of younger players.

     

     

    A boring last 30mins and a 2-0 win would have been very welcome.

    Broony was excellent first half but 60 minutes is about his max . There was a big gap where he should have been at the M’well goal when he ran out of steam . Might be better giving Soro the first 45 or 60 then bringing on a fresh SB?

    Not that they need the points but the ref will be mindful of the danger to the ‘invincible league campaign’.

    A real piece of Celtic history here from 1973 after Bobby Murdoch had scored Celtic;s 6000th league goal. Here he meets Adam McLean who scored the 2000th goal, Jimmy McGrory (3000th) and Jimmy Delaney (4000th). Imagine the stories these guys could have told ?

    Great photo indeed. I know Jimmy McGrory played in the 20s and 30s when did Adam McLean play, what age would he have been in that photo? Anyone know who scored Celtic’s 1,000 goal and when was it?

    He had a decent first half against a Motherwell side who hardly crossed the half way line.

     

     

    But we were falling apart before he was subbed and he was one of the culprits.

    Honestly when I watch the dug meat that is sevco I am so frustrated that we are going to lose a league to a team of journeymen. We have better players. They have played better as a team. Just about. But they are sh 1 t 3

    He was MOTM during the week and plated well yesterday . We need to use Browns experience to help the youngsters gain some confidence.

    SB was sloppy at times throughout the game.

     

    He seems to be playing more positive football now but his concentration and focus can be lacking at times.

    As the huns limp towards an unchallenged title with another rotten performance it’s hard to sympathise with Lenny’s persecution complex. Yes we’ve been done in by the Scot Govt and football authorities this season. Yes, the refs aren’t even subtle in their efforts to help the huns over the line. BUT no-one was more eager to see the return of a strong (The) Rangers than Desmond and Lawwell. The blue pound is great for business – and after all, money talks, fairness walks.
