With the return, or perhaps the resurgence, of sectarian singing, ditties and add ons amongst our support, emanating in the main, from the area in and around the standing area at Celtic Park, and also from a substantial section of our away support at games in Scotland, particularly offensive during Advent, the chances are we will soon see and hear the resurrection, if I can use that word, of that most odious version of Jingle Bells, paradoxically perhaps in the Highlands of Scotland on Wednesday.

  2. Juranovic could do us a turn on the right side ahead of ralston, left side scales for me Taylor was back to being physically dominated by an average motherwell player Woolery, he isn’t good enough strong enough or tall enough, weak in the tackle and prone to giving the ball away

The ultras do not need to sing if they don’t want to. It is entirely their perogative to remain silent.

However by the same token, the rest of the support don’t need to dance to their tune when they decide to end their vow of silence.

    ——

Correct and diplomatically put, as usual.

The GB are intent on taking the club on and to win at all costs, & under any circumstances. There is an ‘organisation’ based in Govan that has the same philosophy.

Consider this: No matter the rights, or, wrong of what the Ultras are inflamed about, if due to their actions they were able to dictate policy & operations to Celtic, where would it end? Knowing that they can defeat Celtic, which grievance would be up next?

    1) Would they insist that all our Israeli players be let go & no more of their ilk signed, due to their allegiance to Palestine?

    2) Would they demand that all board members, and those in administrative positions who do not share their political views be sacked?

Celtic must not lose face in this current shenanigans – to do so would leave the club a laughing-stock and a hostage to fortune.

  4. One other thing

Anyone heard from the Hearts manager after yesterday’s decisions against his team 🤔

  5. I’ve not really been following the Higgins argument so I apologise if I now inadvertently annoy some people.

Has anyone explained how some in our support seem to know who the club are going to appoint ? I’d have thought our recruiting process would be confidential ? And if we are appointing Higgins, it certainly seems to be taking a while to be finalised because this has dragged on now for months.

Big Jimmy, that’s great. Next week would be fine, I’m in serious training. Get D66 to exchange numbers. HH young fella.

  7. Given where we are I’d have bitten your hand off for 3 points and a clean sheet and downside was Jamesey’s injury yesterday.

I had hoped, neigh expected, that the Huns would now have left the 2 edinburgh games with less than 100% so that’s a pisser. If there is hope, they aren’t blowing teams away, riding their luck and will drop points, probably at home. Help from their refereeing brethren isn’t even subtle anymore though.

Onto the highlands, where any win will do.

The rest of the support have decided to end their vow of silence?

    When did this happen?

It’s the end of an era.

    Hugh news, if true.

  9. While I think it’s fair enough for a Celtic rep, be that Nicholson or some one else to speak to the GB – the idea that the club talk specifically about a job application during that meeting is for the birds imo.

I’m sure there’s all manner of data protection laws and employment laws that would prevent the club from doing so.

  10. BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL on 12TH DECEMBER 2021 8:50 PM

Coming up for seven months since someone tried to burn down Peter Lawwell’s house while he and his family were inside.

    It’s been a while – thought I’d just check I haven’t missed any developments?

B2B, the burned out garage has been completely removed, but the house/driveway remains empty and blocked off though on occasion as I have walked by it there have been some workies in the grounds.

Obviously after this length of time it wouls seem that there is going to be no arrests or even charges made.

  11. AN DÚN on 13TH DECEMBER 2021 9:51 AM

Agreed, there are and would be data issues. No way any employer could discuss, those asking the questions probably know that……

    Euan Anderson

Remember that name, he will get plenty of our games going forward,

    After yesterday’s performance

Has anyone ever ever seen before

A team held up at a throw in, and told to move further up the park as you are 10 metres behind correct position

A referee that does not know the rules at a corner

    Or

    A goalkeepers kick out

And more importantly constantly getting in the way of our play by standing in middle between our players, so we cannot take that pass

And that’s setting aside the fouls he let go

    Horrendous refereeing display, absolutely horrendous

    ===================

Hi Norriem – agree wholeheartedly – a terrible refereeing display. Made the same point about the throw in that would have been down in front of you – that was a new one!

The fouling on Rogic from the start of the game should have seen two of their players booked no question – the one where Rogic was breaking upfield from a Hearts corner / bit of pressure and was pulled down – a booking every day of the week. The corner / making Turnbull take it again – either doesn’t know the rules, was cheating, or was not paying attention – terrible either way.

  13. Eddie Howe looks anything but a man with a plan in the post-Leicester drubbing presser:

    https://sport.optus.com.au/epl/videos/os36403/os36403-post-match-leicester-city-v-newcastle-united

Great news if our winter shopping spree begins with a Reo (almost a fitting Nesmith-related tribute) and then we get a couple more reinforcements IN from the far east.

Regarding OUTBOUNDS, quite a few EPL teams could do with the odd Ajeti or Bolingoli in their squad.

How many would continue to work with a defensive nucleus of Carl, CCV, Welshy and let Julliene go for the right money.

Would we get a decent fee for ABC? [Albi, Boli abd Chris] ?

  14. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

…and watch the replay of Celtic’s goal – walks between Turnbull and McGregor preventing a potential pass to Calum.

I think he might just be not the best / out of his depth.

  15. Madhun likes to block passes too don’t think they stand there when other teams play. Either they are choosing to block or their bias tells them to defend…..

A man who never goes near Celtic Park and regularly slaughters those who do has the audacity to criticise the Celtic support inside the stadium for not singing. You are so wrong. Every game there is loud singing and chanting in the Jock Stein stand, as there was yesterday.

Your arrogance is breathtaking. Stop talking about things you know nothing about. You’re an embarrassment.

  17. TOM MCLAUGHLIN on 13TH DECEMBER 2021 10:34 AM

You’re more full of shit than a Billy Bowie tanker.

If there was so much loud singing and chanting why are so many moaning about the GB protest?

Why are the manager and players commenting on the silence?

  18. EMERALDBEE \O/ A DOUBLE NINER!! on 13TH DECEMBER 2021 10:07 AM

It seems though that, rightly or wrongly, suspicion has settled on a Celtic supporting underworld figure with certain sporting interests.

  19. BIG GEORGES FAN CLUB – HAIL, HAIL, WEE OSCAR on 13TH DECEMBER 2021 10:24 AM

With some refs you wonder whether it’s incompetence or bias (conscious or otherwise) but with that clown it appeared to be both.

Having said that, he might have an excuse for the corner. The whole point of it was to fool the opposition, which it did, but it was done so well it also fooled the officials.

  20. Striker or no striker consider this :-

    26 shots.

    7 shots on target.

10 corners and 10 free kicks.

We need to take more of our chances. Every outfield player on the pitch should be able to score a ” sitter” I would wager that every player we have has played upfront at some stage in their development.

Forget the incompetent referee, he did not miss our gilt edged chances

  21. GREENPINATA on 13TH DECEMBER 2021 11:15 AM

This is not a new thing, it’s been going on for years. Part of the problem is always playing against teams with ten men behind the ball, and keepers who for whatever reason seem to be able to raise their game. That keeper yesterday had a very good game. One save in particular where he was diving to his right and he saved the deflected ball with his left hand was outstanding. He probably won’t make a better save in his career.

Well said.Cannot believe that so many on here cannot see through him.

  23. Good morning (only just) from a wet North Staffs. Good result yesterday and on to Wednesday in the Highlands.

So who will we draw today – I’d go for limited travel

  24. We’ve conceded 1 goal in 5 games against Scottish teams

Even after our dreadful start our defensive record is the sixth best in the last 22 seasons

Ange’s unconventional methods, fannyaboutball, are working. Who would have thought we’d be where we are because of not conceding

However we’re doing it, we’re not conceding from corners, or from crosses anymore

Carry on conceding at the rate of the last 5 games and we’ll win the league

  25. CELTIC40ME on 13TH DECEMBER 2021 11:58 AM

It’s certainly counter intuitive that a style of football that is based on retaining possession and moving forward is working out not because of the amount of goals scored but for the amount of goals conceded. When the journey started most assumed it would be the other way round.

Having a top class keeper helps of course.

  26. Peter Lawell firebomb and George Square riot developements:

Eddie Howe’s backroom staff said (I paraphrase)

“IF THAT’S THE WAY THEY CNUTS BEHAVE WHEN THEY WIN THE LEAGUE I DON’T WANT MY FAMILY ANYWHERE GLASGOW. SORRY EDDIE, YOU’RE ON YOUR OWN”
