A fine and cogent case forwarded by yourself, and thanks for your historical notes on it.

The Partick local library there is a great resource.

John Kelly in his book Irish talks of its population swelling as ‘boats of faces’ came up the Clyde. The archdioces of Derry may give you more info on Fr.Daniel

  3. Celtic are the Champions Again.

Muir was the bampot officiating our game yesterday, how can a total turd of a Referee add on 1 minute in the 2nd half? And his obvious Bias with Motherwell getting the softest of fouls. Sick of all of these SH!T referees – Fvck the LRA.

These bellends have no idea about fitba.

Oh and I had over 5.5 goals in the game for a wee sma’ amount, seeing 1 minute added was Criminal!!!!

I only imagine if a dude or dudette was looking for wan mair goal for a Big Win and we have absolute *ssholes frae the Academy of the LRA impacting. Sue the B*astards in the Future….. When all is well.

Unfortunately even with a name called Erin, she’s a big old firm fan.

  5. Apologies for the delay in producing this update but I had a wee bit of last minute calculation to do:-

    —————————————————————

    Final Superbru update

The final round of matches saw a win for Celtic Mac with 8.5 points, holding off the 8 points of both The Lurking Tim and Bhoy from the Village. The wooden spoon was arbitrarily awarded to A thing of Beauty (congrats!).

Commiserations to the 12 punters whose 5:0 predictions for the Celtic game was spoiled by Giakoumakis late goal for our 6th and to Cosy Corner Bhoy and The class of 67 whose 7:0 predictions were ruined by the ref allowing only 1 minute of additional time. However this left Bada Bing on his own with the correct 6:0 prediction. Well done on that!

In the final competition we saw the top 3 positions unchanged so the winners and prizes are :-

Call me Gerry- 234.5 £125 – Gerry led from early on and held on despite many challenges

    Hopeful Hoops- 225.5 £80

    Magnificentseven- 220.5. £50

The separate prize for highest weekly Total goes to Bhoy from the Village for his 15.5 in round 18 and he earns £100

Superbru’s arbitrary computer has awarded the overall wooden spoon to wee McCaff and, I’ll try to get a real life wooden spoon to him if we can arrange a Celtic Park meet up any time, if he reminds me.

I want to thank everyone who contributed funds, even to those who dropped out of the competition after paying. It is a fun way to distract ourselves during the season and we raised a good sum for Sean’s Trust run by Linda Croker, partner of a departed CQNr, which aims to look after disadvantaged Glasgow children. I am willing to accept any further donations to this worthy cause and will work with celticrollercoaster, our constant fund manager and treasurer, to pass this on.

I promised Chalmersbhoy of Sentinel Celts that I would consult with him on future fund raising initiatives such as this. If anyone can get in touch with him, I would be keen to hear his ideas. We could rerun the Superbru predictor again next year or we could use the Cinch fantasy Football site for the SPFL if that was more to people’s liking or both if the demand is there. We could go back to running several more short-term competitions to be more regular in fund raising. Any feedback or viewpoints would be welcome.

But, above all, I would like to thank all of you for your kindness and generosity- the mark of real champions.

I am getting old and the smoke grenades have to be one offs – special occasions like yesterday fair do’s. Being Smoked out in 401 (the smoke disnae affect the holder when there is wind).

I found the Champions League sonic surprising.

The Lights have been held bach, SEVCO can win a Euro Trophy. Our attempts have been Shocking staying just ahead of a NEWCO. MONEY in the BANK strategy annoys those that stretch incomes to buy the Enjoyment of watching Celtic (playing exciting fitba).

Michael Nicholson if he Supports Ange with getting everything done pronto – no fuss. No Penny Pinching!!!! He will have ma Support, so very dissilusioned with the Celtic Board.

There have been serious errors of Judgement by Dermot and his Board. Rangers should have been put in the dust bin.

John McGinn should have been Broonies successor.

    Hint, hint? Worth a punt?

  10. Think Ericson might be playing CL for Spurs or Arsenal. If not, sure there will be big club in for him.EPL,I mean.

  11. Whilst I really enjoyed the game on Saturday, I really think we should have had a penalty shoot out before it kicked off.

Thanks for taking the time to set up the league.

It also reminded me why i quit gambling a long time ago:-)

  14. SFTB – Superbru competition was excellent. It gave an added interest for all six games each time. And the highest weekly score prize gave everyone an incentive right up til the last game of the season. It’s a great format imo (obviously 😁) whilst raising funds for very worthy causes. What’s not to like? Big shout out to those that organised it all 👏👏👏

Thanks for all the help and updates you offered with the competition.well done mate

Unfortunately i needed even more help with my selections!😉

  16. Hi ghuys . A long shot but looking for a bit of assistance . After the game on Saturday and after a few refreshments ,my brother and I went for the train at Central Station

My brother went down to the toilets in the station where he lost his phone . Containing his bus pass and his season ticket . The toilets were full of celts ,it was only a few minutes coming out the toilets that he realised he had lost his phone ,he was using it going down the steps into the toilet so it was definitely down there he dropped it . I know it is a slim chance but if anyone picked it up ,could we asked if it could be returned . All his family photo,s are also contained in it . Thanks ghuys

Check the lost property office in Central Station.maybe worth a visit in

    Good luck mate

Well done SFTB for running a great competition, with regular updates and all for a great cause.

I would be up for same again next season.

And Hail Hail to the Champions.

  19. From his “No, catastrophic to me means the end. This is far from the end.`to his ` Champions — that`s who we are.` Ange has come out with some beauties . I would say that this one is worth remembering in some instances before pressing `Post Comment` :

“If you end up in arguments with ignorant people, you eventually become one of them.”

Some man, Ange Postecoglou. A wee book of his sayings might be worth the effort .

  20. After posting that, I discovered that Ange wrote a book in 2017 !

“Changing The Game”, by Ange Postecoglou (Paperback, 2017)

    Anyone read it?

  21. Jimtim

Best of luck to your mate in his search. What happened when he tried `phoning his number?

It is very easy to set mobile phones to automatically upload all photos to the cloud as backup. You are usually offered this free function the first time you take a photo using the phone’s camera.

Ask your brother to check his google account if it is an Android. Also look at apps like DropBox, Drive and OneDrive. His family photos may well be accessible from another device.

  23. H S my brother went back down a few minutes after he discovered it gone ,I rang the number but it didn’t sound down in the toilets . I’m just hoping a fellow time sees the season ticket and hands it in . Thanks pal

I’ve been trying to get the book for months.

But haven’t been able to. Even on Amazon.

I’m going to see if my library can order it in.
