  4. USA probably has more to fear from the influencial Catholic right wingers, Kevin Roberts, President of the Heritage Foundation and Leo Leonard, co-chairman of the Federalist Society, both of whom are Opus Dei members.

These two have been instumental in providing Trump with his authoritan playbook (Project 2025) and a Supreme Court heavy with conservative Catholics.

“Opus Dei is a powerful, secretive organization with members in political, economic, and Church leadership throughout the world. But what is nowhere exposed – because it isn’t even perceived as a problem – is Opus Dei’s unabashed encouragement of intense economic and political ambition,” Robin Morgan

  5. Grand day for the Celtic and those celebrating St Patricks day in Glasgow

Joy at paradise with a well deserved 3 points as MO’N and the team squeezing out very ounce of desire to win the title from a thin squad, Celtic park finding its purpose and voice

Congratulations on a happy joyful celebration inclusive parade yesterday,

In his book American Fascists: The Christian Right and the War on America, Chris Hedges characterizes the Christian fundamentalist right as a totalitarian movement masquerading as religion, which he terms “dominionism”. Hedges argues this movement aims to dismantle American democracy, impose a strict theocracy, and shares ideological similarities with early fascist movements.

Frank has now joined me on the hunger-strike. I saw the boys at Mass today which I enjoyed. Fr Toner said Mass.

Again it was a pretty boring day. I had a bit of trouble to get slopped out tonight and to get water.

I have a visit tomorrow and it will be good to see my family. I am also looking forward to the walk in the fresh air, it will tire me out, but I hope the weather is good. I must go.

  9. Long day at work yesterday so missed all the fun. Well done the Blessed Martin and the Bhoys and nice to see the jam farts follow follow through and shit the bed. One game at a time sweet Celtic.

I think the US has more to fear from evangelicals duped by the Scofield Reference Bible than anything else.

Off out, be nice to each other

I love a Parkhead game with an atmosphere.

It’s gradually coming back in our seat of the pants season with KT and Julian Araujo the latest injury victims. John Beaton was there, obvious enough early, to draw that cringeworthy chant, he booked AOC, Reo, Colby Donovan and Tony Ralston for his first and only tackle for his 18 minutes on the park.

Motherwell don’t dominate Celtic in Parkhead in our lifetime but they made a pretty good fist of it , in the first half. Good players popped up everywhere with this new passing game, and no customary gaps at the back. We played the longer ball Sinasalo again like a new signing, and Liam Scales was revelling in wearing the captain’s armband.

A slip by Reo who was again outstanding, gave Well the opener, but Yang levelled with a great drive into the corner. AOC replaced with McCowan put in a shift in Engels slot, Nygren had a quiet day, Daizen was there with dyed hair of the week, and movement that helped ensure 3 points.

Celtic were much brighter after half time Tounekti was replaced by Tomas and the breakthrough was coming with MON adding another more direct striker. John Beaton from a few yards with a clear view didn’t ‘see’ Daizen Maeda’s manhandling but good ole VAR to the rescue, as it let him ‘see’ what he’d ‘missed’.

Trials and tribulations Tomas is our upgrade with two dead balls he’s kept the MON miracle double alive. Then Yang cracked in a lifted left foot finish ending a late Parkhead winter day, with a hint of Celtic spring.

  11. No celebrating yet.Good results, that’s all.7 of the most important games of the season coming up,starting next week at Dundee Unt.We thought we were on a run, then Hibs

burst that.Win next week,we have two weeks more to get some big players back.Hearts also.

Thing is,its now in our own hands.

  13. Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Celtic starlet Dara Jikiemi ahead of a host of competition, according to TEAMtalk.

The Reds have been keen to strengthen their squad as they look to transition into a new era of playing staff at Anfield, with a number of top players now entering the twilight years of their career.

But the club are also alert to some top talent across the world and want to ensure they are brought in to future-proof the squad for years to come, which has seen them convince one star to make the move south of the border.

Jikiemi, who turned 16 in January and has captained the Scotland youth teams, is considered to be one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the Celtic academy and is believed to have a huge future ahead of him.

Capable of playing at centre-back or in midfield, Jikiemi has been described as a player who is ‘fast’ and ‘strong in his duels’, which had seen a number of clubs paying close attention to him trying to convince him to join.

  14. Great second half for Yang,Maeda, but still lacking first half.Poor pass to Hatate from Sinisalo, althought Hatate, bless him,was running back asking for the ball.To use a phrase” Just say NO”.We had a wee bit of it near the end when we got in a bit of stupidity again trying our hardest to lose a goal.Passing out to full backs at the corner flags, never a great tactic when they are marked.

  15. In the 1st half most of Motherwells play came down our left where Seb was basically having a mare , didn’t know whether to stick or twist , off the ball he had a total mare.

Changes at half time sorted that problem , with Big Tam threatening at CF.

    Good atmosphere,GB not missed.

  16. Deniabhoy,

While we lose our terrific 16 year olds, let’s face it,has anyone ever heard of the boy?,Arsenal, bring on a 16 year old,to win the game for them .That’s the difference.

No pathway in Scotland, except the first team for these kids.We are too careful with bringing these kids through.”.What’s the problem in having this kid training with the 1st team, getting game time, seems to take an eternity with us.Aw,too young, you will burn them out”nonsense prevails.

  18. What was noticeable to me in the first half was the lack of running back with any urgency from Tounekti, KT was often left with 2 on him defending. Not good enough he needs to up his work rate to have a future at Celtic.

Remember when you bigging up the half-decent atmosphere yesterday to include the much louder than usual moans and groans and wailing for the chances missed by Maeda, Nygren, McCowan and some of the periods of possession for Motherwell when Celtic didnt look as tho they had a clue what they were doing.

and btw, the Well forward who many hoped we should go for – utter mince yday – hopefully a one-off if we are interested

  20. Spikey,

I know mate.Like to kid themselves on.When we are a goal down, and playing poorly, the GB never falter, never stop.Helps drown out the moans, and complaints.

When most are out heading home, still there to applaud the team.Showing appreciation.

“Who needs them”.Just ask the players.

  21. spikeysauldman on

KT doesnt help matters by always moving inside when defending with Tounekti posted missing sometimes – with Nygren in midfield the holes are bigger everywhere

Thought Daizen was v good yesterday, remarkably with his link up play.

whoever takes over from MON should be forced to have a sit-down with him to discuss just how to get the best out of some of the players. Doesnt need to be a system/tactics talk, but defo a man management talk, regardless of the ego/status of the next guy

  24. TurkeyBhoy – yep and the lack of a proper reseve league has made things much worse in my opinion. These starlets know the chances of getting game time in the first team is close to non-existent. At least if there was a reserve league they would have a chance to play against senior players and show if they were ready for the step up.

Liverpool will pay a minimal fee to us, pay the player a big wage (relative to other Scottish pros) and in 2-3 years he will either be ready for the EPL or sold for a silly amount of money. In the meantime he will be playing against a much higher level of opposition week in and week out in the Professional Development League or the EPL2.

  25. The problem with wanting M& S to stay for another year has its problems. We all saw what happened in January,5 loans.Be the same this Summer.Don’t give them an excuse.

Morrison headed to Bayern Munich and is now playing for Auchtershuggle Reserve.

Let them go, let them enjoy the egg on their face when it arrives.

  29. I am in a minority of one on here who really never felt bothered about hearts loss last night.

I always thought they will drop

Points and hate that their dropping points puts rangers back into the frame a bit and they go today in knowledge that a win puts them 1 behind us and 3 behind hearts.

I would have rather seen them start knowing a win still keeps them 6 off the pace. More likelihood of them losing today with that kind of pressure.

Hearts were never going to stay the distance anyway imo.

I hope rangers prove me wrong lol
