I wrote earlier this week that I was riding a wave of optimism.
I saw nothing tonight to temper that wave of optimism.
Fast free flowing breaks, silky skills and astute defending.
This wave is only going to rise further.
All aboard for the ride of our lives.

A lot of our play tonight was breath taking in speed, touch & tempo.
Sinclair is clearly special and has hit the ground running….he needs no time to bed in and adjust. Previous players who have needed no time include Lubo, Naka and Kris.
That was such an exciting performance which has left me unable to sleep. BBC stats report we had 26 shots on goal with 16 on target. Very impressive against a hard working and well organised team.
Howevah……..
A note of caution. Our attacking style and formation leaves gaps that even slightly better teams than Motherwell will exploit. They could easily have had 2 in the first half and a HT score line of 6-2 for Celtic would have been a fair reflection of play.
A solid defensive midfielder is essential I think. Guys such as Wanyama, Lennon and Lambert do not grow on trees but we need someone in that role or we’ll be caught out in Europe.
This is a seriously great time to be a Celtic supporter, Brendan will bring The Thunder back and then some. Let’s enjoy it.
But it’s keeping me from bliddy sleeping and causing me to look up Celtic facts on Wiki and other stuff like who won this year’s Mary From Dungloe competition.
God bless our beloved Celtic.

Tully57, i feel your pain on the staying up late. i am 5 1/2/ or 6 1/2 hours ahead of Celtic time (depending on the time of year) so midweek games are a killer as i need to get up at 6. However, i will gladly stay up to watch them this year as it means some champions league action for us.
however, there could be a fight for the TV as Mrs Mingalarbar is a manc so is a Man City fan … unless we are in the same group that is… ok getting ahead of myself now.. need to beat the lads from the holy land first.

Scotsman posts early warning for SPFL defenders.
Much of Celtic’s irresistible pace and penetration was provided by Scott Sinclair, who looks like he could wreak untold havoc against Scottish defences. A solitary strike was modest reward for his efforts.
Greetings from Brunei. Nearly a full day’s travelling and a tad jet-lagged but still managed to get the Firestick up and running to watch the game in the wee small hours over here.
Great performance with slinky Sinky looking the part.

POGMATHONYAHUN, long trip and hope you get over it soon. Once you do, if you’re there for a couple of weeks get yourself over the border to Sarawak. Brunei, is pretty shit and the ferry only takes a few minutes. Miri is a nice to spend your weekends.
Mulu is well worth a visit and while there you can do some of the biggest caves on the planet. In fact, it would be a real shame not to go there. Your missus will love it too.
Good morning friends. The weather this morning in East Kilbride is the exact opposite of last night’s excellent performance – dull, bleak, blustery, and pretty depressing looking. And to get that performance with the following players in the stand too – Tierney, Griffiths, Toure, Roberts, Ambrose. Good times.
Once again, thanks for all the well wishers on my Ma’s 90th birthday yesterday, last nights result just fin. Of a perfect day for her as she watched the game with her brand new Celtic trackie top on with ….Annie 90….on the back of it, sais she’s wearing it every game on the telly now when Celtic are on, bless her, once again thank you all for your heartfelt birthday wishes.
I was very pleased with last nights performance at Celtic Park, it’s a long time since I at a game and enjoyed myself so early in the season, I’m not going overboard right now so early in the season, but something is happening at the club right now and I’m liking it, even in here, level 5s little helpers have been shtum, but they still lurk in here with the Huns…..ergo…..the GIRFUYs .

A performance to tell Scotland what is coming to them this season.
There was palpable excitement that the Rangers were back and all those old superiority feelings would come rushing back. A top class manager and a couple of signings later and we are riding the crest of a large and speeding wave.
Brendan recommends two signings. Good way to put pressure on the board.
Goalkeeper and central midfielder are my guesses. The players played with Brodge before and want to come here.
Go get them Celtic – you have seen what small changes have done so far.
Strange story this morning that Simunovic could be on the road out. Maybe that’s why we are still looking at a centre back.

Very dull here in darkest Lanarkshire this morning, however the sun is shining on Celtic Park.
An utterly sparkling performance last night, from first whistle till last….hungry, aggressive and pacy.
Now , once we can defend corners I may even upgrade my hopes from Europa League players to Champions League hangers on.
