  1. Do we stick with the manager or KTF with him?

In one way it’s best just to admit failure and move on, the other option is to wait it out and perhaps in the Jan window we can improve….,,,,, erm I wish we stuck with Lenny, we have been let down by the plc who make these decisions.

  2. We all said our team look far less athletic the our opponents in Europe.

We sent out our youth on loan and the clubs all mentioned how unfit they were.

We have to allow the changes to take place imo.

The fact that the scum are not in the picture is giving some people the laid back ach don’t worry attitude.

The manager is under intense pressure for me.

If Hearts ko us on Wednesday he has to go.

  4. sorry about that …. hit enter by mistake …

and having midfielders who can see and make such a pass …

too many players are still reverting to the old way of running like mad…. and then everyboyd (who is stationary) camps around the 18 yard box…. we need to learn to make and take a pass while moving, and to time the runs into the box to make them effective.

this is the game RD says he wants us to learn and play, and, if we are to become a creditable force in Europe again, we need to learn it ….

RD may or may not be the guy to do this … but whoever coaches the team (and I hope the players and fans dont do a PLeG on this guy) …. someone has to stick with it ….

    short term pain,long term gain…

  5. Just in. Goals never materialised. At least the chances did. Keeper had a couple of excellent saves. Not least from Scepovic header in the final minutes.

Doesn’t matter about the personnel that Deila puts on the park or the subs he made THEY are responsible for the own ineptitude.

Motherwell had two chances and scored one. Defensively that’s ok.

    Creativity is missing.

    Stokes is terrible.

  6. That, to put it mildly, was shockingly inept. There is no shape to this team at all. I’ll say it now–Neil Lennon would have had us into the group stages with these players. I think Big Ronnie is out of his depth. I know people talk about Tony Mowbray, but his teams, at least until after the Christmas of that season, looked good on the pitch. His players were getting lumps kicked out of them. The Scottish MSM were absolutely vile in their treatment of the man. He was not a Celtic manager, but he was better than what we’re seeing at the moment. The fans are hoping against hope he’ll turn out all right, but I think Celtic should cut their losses asap.

Want a name? Tony Pulis would do me. He can organise, inspire, and improve a team.

Whether he would suit the board is another matter.

And don’t give me the old chestnut that his teams don’t play football. He works with what he’s given.

The guy would be a revelation in Scotland.

    ……..

There was no need for wholesale changes to the team today.

Deila is chopping and changing like it was pre-season.

    Couldn’t believe the team today.

  8. robobhoy …

the pitch is too big for 11 players to cover it all …. there is always space…. we have to learn to create and utilise the space …

other teams do it to Celtic regularly …. so, there is no reason that we can’t be doing the same…

to me…it seems like too many of our players, having got to Cetlic and played in the CL, think they have made it, and prepared to do the hard work necessary to learn to play another way …. just my observation.

  9. I want our Celtic to be miles ahead of Motherwell, how do we get there?

Only way I can see is if DD and his puppet are removed, obviously it ain’t happening but perhaps there is someone out there with the dosh to buy majority shares from DD.

    Absent landlords don’t work.

Captain Beefheart. We need to stick with Rony and give him time but we need to see improvement and 1-1 at home against Motherwell is not improvement. To many of our players look as if they are going through the motions only. We need players to work there socks off for 90 mins plus and if they dont kick there backsides they are getting paid plenty.Rony has to toughen up. H.H.

So we sack our turnip after a couple of months. Right?

So what happens if the next guru turns out to be another turnip? Sack him after a couple of months as well?

  14. We had chances to score in the 2nd half, but by then we were getting desperate and they manned the ramparts.

Team selection for first half was dire.

Guidetti up front with Stokes helping neither him or the midfield.

An easy gig for Stokes and he blew it.

    Midfield was gutless.

Kayal and Tonev are luxury players when you have other hard workers but on their own in this league they will be found out.

Bitton is a good player but nervous and risk averse.

Defence has it’s own challenges but they need a hard working organized midfield in front of them. Today they didn’t have that for the first 45 minutes.

Ronny, whether it’s selection by committee or selection by rotation, it ain’t working.

Figure out which players you can trust and bin the rest to the stiffs.

    You are nearly right.

We just have one problem……..A lot of our players just don’t have the skills or technique…….and our management team are well out of their depth

    Joe,

The notion that Ronny has no cojones or fire to challenge our lazy chumpsIis a media fabrication. The man has fire and cojones.

Meanwhile, AS remains a protected species for some reason.

    Don’t appoint a guru.

Appoint a good competent manager with experience and a track record.

  21. I think RD also, quite reasonably, thought he would get more out of Tonev, Kayal and Bitton.

Without wanting to speculate, I have long suspected the group of Stokes, Commons, Mulgrew etc don’t help – on the pitch at least.

They seem to overlook new players, preferring to pass to each other.

Same with free kicks. We all saw Guidetti hit a beauty for Sweden yet Stokes and Commons take every one.

Has commons ever scored a free kick? VVD scored one and then hardly got a look in.

  24. There’s a manager in the SPFL who has a team at the top of the league playing decent football and developing young players being sold for big money.

Now why didn’t Celtic speak to him over a Norwegian guy who doesn’t seem to get the job he has?

  25. robobhoy

The truth is, technically, scottish players and the scottish game have fallen behind most …

However, there are still players like James McCarthy (and even steven fletcher, who might be aned, but is decent footballer) who are coming through in Scotland and developing into good players (even Naismith at Everton has developed into a good player) ..l.. so, the potential is there …

plus, some of the teams we play in scotalnd, play a decent passing game (albeit with less skielled players than we have at celtic) …..

those two things tell me that it is possible to have a team in scotland – with a lot of scottish players … who could play good, atractive competetive football …it will just take a bit of time before the old school mentality changes..

personally, I think RD is the first step towards that change….

PS … sorry for the dodgy typing …. multitasking on the computer , so it keeps freezing and messing up my spelling!

  26. I think Ronny has to share in more detail his thinking. Otherwise we will be left scratching our heads wondering why? Like with Mowbray and Barnes.

If it is true he is trying to change the way the team plays and everything surrounding the prep for games etc he has to explain what he is doing and why he thinks it is worth the short to medium term ups and downs.

Maybe then the fans will be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and importantly the time to succeed in making those changes.

Snake Plissken. Rony thumped his team 6-1 lets give Rony the time and the Support he needs he should get at least a full season.H.H.
