  1. I think there are people who support , Celtic, that have deep pockets, well time they and not the supporters, start investing in new players.

  2. When we play Bayern Munich behind closed doors,I don’t think guys will be springing to his defence………

  5. IF the pitch invader is mentally handicapped, then a defence can be made for him. I cannot think of a defence for the seeming ineptitude of the stewards.

I have criticised. I dont know anyone that hasnt, do you?

I can hardly be held to account for your untimely crass interjection.

Next time, before retorting, please try to remember, manners cost nothing.

Serious questions need to be asked about the stewarding at the CL games.

I would have thought that stewards should always be watching the crowd – not the pitch or the screen – and that they should have the necessary physicality to restrain and contain someone intent on pitch invasion. Otherwise, why are they there?

I understand that it might be all too easy to ‘switch off’ for a few seconds when something significant happens on the field – but that should surely be the time when most attention to duties is required. Either we have got the wrong people doing the job – or we have the right people but not enough of them or not adequately trained (or perhaps not adequately paid?)

  8. …apart from some snydey comments from a couple of Liverpool and Man utd colleagues………….(who really should be supporting CCFC and know better) I’m over last nights result. We will only get better……..

  9. Celtic were dreadful in the first half.. they never turned up.. Would it have made a difference?> of course. were on back foot from first minute never picked up a loose ball. This down to manager to get team ready for the kick-off. and be up for it. Couldn’t pass it 10 yards. No one looking for the ball. SA was anonymous. ON was shocking . PR and SS tried but got no support. LG isolated. Against Barca when ew we won 2-1 we had fewer attempts than last night and Barca had a t least double number of chances. That’s football. We deserved luck against Barca though . Not last night. our best defenders were young full backs. No fear at all. Let’s turn up next game with a bit of arrogance and determination. And idiot on park? how can they not be stopped? We rightly critised Huns for letting it happen

  13. The guy who ran onto the park should be paying any fine issued to the club. Sue him for damages if necessary. Same goes for anyone letting off a flare, fine the dozen or so around where the flare is let off and natural justice will take its course.

  14. VFR800 is now a Monster 821 on

I don’t really see where the criticism is coming from after last night. Their front 3 will be valued at over £500M – yes £500M. The other 8 starters and 3 subs will probably be around another £500M so their team last night is a £1 Billion team. Think on that! Our squad (including Roberts and Dembele) would be valued at less than £100M – not enough to buy one of their front 3.

That’s not a gulf in class, it’s a gulf in finances.

The criticism of Rodgers and the claims he threw the team under the bus is just bollocks. He told it like it was. We were like under-12’s standing off better players and giving the ball away cheaply. He also praised the improved performance in they second half.

Man for man they are streets ahead of us so it was not an unexpected result. This is what it must be like to support a bottom tier SPFL team coming to get get mauled by Celtic.

I’m not sure which school of jurisprudence equates collective punishment with natural justice.

Mind you, this is Scotland, so anything is possible.

  16. No big deal for me.They are the best team in the world at the moment.we talk about their fantastic front players.glad to see some are appreciating what they have in midfield and defence. Not a weakness to be found.

    A joy to watch.

People forgetting we started without Moussa,Dedryk,Eboue, last night. Not saying they would have made a vast difference, but who knows.Eboue would have been all over their midfield, harrying, tackling.A couple of the goals could have been avoided,if Dedryk had been at CH.IMHO,when we have our players fit,we have the best team that we could possibly have playing in Scotland. If that falls below the standard of PSG,Barca,Madrid, etc, well,we just have to live with that. This is now the reality.I will make no judgements until we play on the only level playing field we will have in this group, against Anderlecht.

By that time, god willing,we will have a full squad available. Its still game on for 3rd place.

Celtic got gubbed by a far better side.

Most fans can live with that.

It was the lack of fight that rankles.

And that wasn’t down to financial disparity between the clubs.

  18. Will Dedryck and Moussa be back for Anderlecht? I suppose they’d need to be back in one of the three games beforehand to have a chance.

  19. VFR-By the sound of it,the team done exactly what Brendan told them not to do,stand off them………..

Like a Boxer. Its very hard to put up a fight when you cant get close enough to lay a glove on your opponent.

I watched the Celtic players chasing about, trying to get close,to no avail. That was a masterclass of football last night.Just accept it.

The attitude and performance of the players was markedly different in the second half.

And that wasn’t down to a reduction in the quality of PSG.

  24. My friends in Celtic,

Perspective: Yes the ability to spend crazy money helps, but I thought the tactics, awareness and movement of PSG was a joy to behold.

I posted yesterday I would be happy if all our players played to their full potential, sadly that wasn’t the case.

Imagine we had put together a squad costing mega millions and still got beaten by 5 goals. ( Like Liverpool) then I think the manager should be castigated.

Generally I thought the fans who made the effort in monsoon conditions were superb. It’s soooooooo much easier to watch it on TV and criticise everything.

There is a gulf. It’s called the Persian Gulf.

No doubt Celtic let me down, I had Sinclair first goal and Celtic 3-1. At 600-1.

As big a let down I have ever had in the betting world. Tant Pis as they say in the 19th arrondissement.

Things I have learned. Feyonoord are in the CL for the first time in fifteen years. (That cannot be true)

Worst home result since getting beat 5-1 by the old Rangers in 1961. And the first time we have been beaten

5-0 at home, by Hearts, since the 1890s. (Will need to check with OldTim and ThomtheTim on that one. Oh and by the way, Aberdeen beat us 5-1 in 1947, and they’re no PSG.

And another thing, the last European team to beat us 5-0 was Artmedia.

    Where are they now?
