  1. FT

That was squeaky bum time. Self inflicted. We are not in a good place at the minute. Brendan has plenty of work to do for the Europa match

  2. NEGANON2 on 10TH FEBRUARY 2018 2:11 PM

This has been another absolutely terrible performance.

*actually I thought it was a very good performance taking into consideration the constant intimidation and pathetic refereeing the players were subject to, as well as a lame duck centre half who is living on his launching the bin bag.

  3. Great defending KT to save us having replay.

To many questions and nervy moments.

Lustig made his first forward run in the 90 th minute.

    Stark contrast to last season.

Two terrible moments by a once strong defender gifted Thistle 2 goals and left us vulnerable.

  4. Our defence is as shaky as its ever been, De Vries does not fill me with confidence either. JF the difference today.

  5. Routine him. It was an awful performance. As for defenders why the he’ll didn’t we buy a good one. Too busy trying to make as much profit as possi le.

What really concerns me is that Brendan doesn’t appear to be doing anything about these performances.

The ref was terrible but we can’t complain because we let the cheating happen unopposed.

  6. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well we stutter on we do not look settled as a team to many players struggling with form.I dont know what the answer is but I hope Brendan can sort it out and we can recapture some of last years form. H.H.

  7. glendalystonsils on

Injuries and a few key players off form has lessened the gap there should be between us and the likes of the Maryhill maulers. Two cheap goals conceded, Jozo at fault for both and we must look at replacing with someone safer/ more aware.

Thistle should have had at least another 3 booked, McLean was diabolical.

Jamesie was sensational. Agree Charly is not quite ready for this type of game.

  8. Job done, bigger, tougher test next week though and to avoid a doin’ we’ll need to provide a transformed performance.

    Hey Presto CSC.

  9. I fear we have become incredibly complacent. After they scored in the first half we were stinking. Couldn’t string two passes together. Brendan should be furious but I think he is in a bit of a stupor.

  10. It’s all about money spent

Just watched last 10 mins of spurs / Arsenal – £50m Lacazette has 2 chances to equalise -mmmmmmmmmmm

  11. Much as though many may not like it you can see today why Boyata has been Brendan’s first choice centre half..

Comperr will be fit for the run in let’s hope he is a decent centre half to carry the defence and organise it..

  12. Neganon in full flight I see,

Must say for first time in season, I feel we are vulnerable at domestic level.

Thought Tierney, Ajer and Ntcham did OK & Forrest was brilliant but there was a lot of nervy play & Jozo had a shocker.

  13. What is the Stars on

Weeping wailing and gnashing of teeth has commenced.

I hope Peter Lawwell keeps all the money for himself.

Just to drive all the malcontents completely nuts.

Meanwhile in Syria children are being slaughtered. There are bigger problems in the world than supporting a HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL football team.

  14. Brendan Rodgers ,needs to change the whole system the way the team play, other teams have sussed us out, players making to many mistakes, also I hope there a new players coming in the Summer,Nitcham,Simunivic,Lustig,Edoourd,Mousanda, Sinclair,Ajer who I’m still not convinced with him,all need to find new clubs,as for Zenit,I dread to think what the score will be on Thursday night,if it’s the same eleven that start ,

  15. According to the beeb which disnae like us we had 63% possession, 13 to 5 shots, 6 to 2 shots on target, equal on corners but more importantly 10 fouls against their 21 and yet only 1 harry wragg yellow carded.

The tone has been sent when snivellin sent out the word stop Broonie stop Celtic. Our players are scared to react to viciousness. Hopefully a fair and decent official on Thursday but then again the bonkle double glazing salesman might have something to say about that.

  16. Difference between this season and last is the amount of unforced errors we seem to be making, at least at domestic level.

  17. Anyone have any idea what was the Daily Ranger headline was which was removed and they apologised for?

  18. Another cup tie comes and goes and the hun community in journalism sees another chance to rip Celtic apart for winning. It was pretty today but it was nowhere near as bad as the hyperbole in the media or on here suggests..

Brendan is in a stupor, what does that even mean???

Is there a lip reader in the house??

  19. Simunovic cost us two goals today, which is unfortunate, but with our cup-tied defensive limitations he’ll have to play against Zenit and I hope he has a blinder. Ajer was awesome today and MUST play against Zenit. Hendry is still too raw and over-awed at playing for Celtic at the moment, but he’ll come good given time to adapt.

The second goal which Simunovic gave away today really annoyed me because Rogic, who we all want to see coming back, was waiting to come on and instead of kicking the ball out up field he gave it away to the opposition who gratefully scored!!!!!!!!!!! – WTF!

If he had more awareness about him he’d have done the crowd a great service (if he’d more awareness, he wouldn’t have given the first goal away, but hey-ho) and we’d have seen the Wizard of Oz back in action after so long out.

Anyway, a win’s a win! Onwards and upwards! Come on the Hoops!

  20. Prior to Thursday we need to make ourselves more compact , we collect the ball from the keeper and often or CH are 60 yards appart, one bad pass the opposition any opposition have a hole to run through, we are not good enough to retain the ball in the centre of midfield are we are very light weight, Sinclair has to be left out and play 3 mobile combative midfielders from what we have available, if we go in and play an open game we will concede plenty, we have no options at CH due to injury so the guys who cost the two goals today will be selected. Play two up go long play from there.

  21. Keep saying it.we make these mistakes and get nervy, with the endless passing the ball backwards.Lustig is getting himself into all sorts of bother continually looking to pass the ball backwards.KT is becoming more and more guilty of it.In the 1st 15 minutes we were excellent.Lose a stupid goal, then it starts.Must be so frustrating for players up front, making runs, jostling for position, only to see it go backwards.Musonda, did not know where to go.

Forrest, outstanding.Ntcham, worked hard.Ajer did well.KT,was just KT,going forward, tremendous. One thing. In the last couple of games,Broony has been a shadow of the player who dominated every game.Still played well, but in the case of Broony, thats not enough. Not for him as well,I bet.

  22. DESSYBHOY on 10TH FEBRUARY 2018 2:45 PM,

I agree.Kouassi has to start.Have to be more solid in midfield.

  23. Just back from CP and I have only read the current page but, honestly, I really don’t think we were as bad as that. Yes, it was a close result and they got a siff of the equaliser but we were dominant and got through them on more than the 3 occasions we scored.

One horrendous blind pass from Jozo made it nervous but we came out in the 2nd half and cruised it unitl 5 mins from the end. Musonda was fine, a little lightweight and unused to the leniency in tackling, but tokk part in some good build ups.

On a day when we saw a hat trick from the former Scapegoat of the Year (3 years running) we should perhaps consiser suppressing the appetite to nominate a young man in his 2nd match as his successor.

This performance and score has no influence on how tough next Thursday will be. The good thing is that we can now concentrate on that match now.

  24. Won easily with only 3 players getting above average marks; Ajer, Tierney and Jamesy.

Jozo made it closer than it should have been. Complete brain freeze for the first. And succumbed to the “get it up the park” brigade only to see it come straight back and concede another goal. If only he had turned back and passed to the keeper …

  25. BOBBY MURDOCH'S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS on

I think it is way past the time that Celtic presented a bliddy H-U-G-E list of assaults on KT.

He’s Scotland’s finest prospect in many a year, and at 20,captained club and country.

We should be proud of him and some of us are. But certain people are out to cripple him,and certain others are accommodating it.

Every game,a career-threatening injury or six.

    Time to be mouthy, Celtic

  26. With all the talk and speculation about Patrick Roberts and Charly Musonda (and Scott Sinclair) – How much is Wee Jamesy worth? He’s been on fire of late, totally unpayable today and possibly our best player at the moment! – €$10 Million Pounds Sterling for starters!? €20 Million?

  27. BMCW – wholeheartedly agree.

And the other thought, our players should be going mental to the red and opposition. Let them know we are not happy and will be getting our own back.

Instead, Kieran gets assaulted and our players move into position (apart from Ajer who had a few words and finger pointing at the assistant red). Same when Lustig was injured. No one in the face of the thugs.

  28. Hurry back Griff.

delighted to be in the hat,we have lost that factor where teams fear us.Well done Jamesy bhoy

  29. Apologies for the typos.

I was less annoyed by the match and more by Peter Lawwell’s interview with Tom English on Radio Scotland which I listened to on the way home.

After spending less than a minute trying hard not to bioast about the recent financial report on the club, he was moved on by Tom English to consider issues around the SFA and the game in general. While Peter was professionally critical of SFA organisation and performance, his words were professional and neutral. He gave no detail on what or who had earned his dissatisfaction, preferring to use neutral buzz-speak and talk of a need for change and to re-structure for the benefit of all clubs. He exonerated Stuart Regan for any of the facts that contributed to the need for “change and re-structuring” and he positively praised Neil Doncaster, saying he wanted to keep him at the SPFL rather than see him poached by the SFA, as Tom English had asserted that Celtic wanted to back Doncaster for the job.

After this non-event of non-communication, they went back to the studio and , even a neutral pundit like Willie Miller, was puzzled and perturbed as to what Peter Lawwell was saying or whether he was speaking for other clubs at all.

It must be discouraging for Canamalr, Morrisey, Auldheid and BRT & H to listen to this failure to specify and attack. Peter Lawwel did not miss and hit the wall: instead he chose to face away from the wall and pretend it was not even there.

This performance was much worse than Celtic’s today.

  30. Agree – Charly must be frustrated. Kept showing for the ball only for Lustig and Jozo and even KT to turn backwards
