ryecatcher, Tony Watt came off the bench to score those two goals. He didn’t start the game and is not a first choice at Lierse. If he comes back here Neil Lennon will not play him because the lad is lazy and doesn’t listen. How many times do you need to hear that before it sinks in?

I listened to Keevins, Guidi et al going on about deluded Celtic Fans who are in denial about not wanting a football team from Ibrox lining up against us.
I read this on line yesterday and it further strengthened my feeling that I don’t want them anywhere near us.

That sounds like the start of a flounce. Nobody suggests all is rosy but you should expect someone (me on this occasion) to raise an incredulity at people who are deeply worried at this time. Given our history and how we are developing in difficult times then this feels OTT.

Our captain is Celtics best paid player. He is our best paid player because he is Celtics captain.
Has this not been Celtics most profitable year ever in our history ?
Yet we cannot award arguably two of our better performers improved deals ?
We can offer a living wage ?

Just home from the game on the free bus provided and, despite a poorish match, I enjoyed the experience.
Was in good company before, during and after the match so that was good. Atmosphere at the match was very poor and the game itself will only be remebered by me, for the company kept.

jimtim- That comment from Delahunt tells me how far he is prepared to go to twist the knife into Celtic and by extension, Neil Lennon.
Surely this smug sneering insult cannot escape the attention of Celtic FC.
As somebody mentioned earlier, commercial radio stations like Clyde dance to the tune of those sponsors who are paying them, truth and balance are the first casualties.
They should be denied access to Celtic Park until an apology is received.
(A mate of mine went to Uni with Delahunt, he tells me he was a rabid Tim back then).
It must be tough trying to motivate pro sportsmen who are leading their division with ease, are unbeaten and very miserly at the back to do MORE than that…NFL has an almost unique set of issues to grapple with…
He said at the beginning of the season recruitment was geared towards putting some pace in the team, and for one reason or another that hasn’t worked out as yet.
Then in the CL a more expansive approach was tried and after some early promise – San Siro game in particular – it didn’t deliver.
Perhaps a temporary tactical retrenchment was an inevitable reaction?
On a brighter note the pie and Bovril in the LL Upper was darn good today:)

A bad run of form ( when we’ve won 5 games on the bounce without letting a goal in) is one thing but the general air of disenchantment round the ground is another. In the ground it felt a bit as though we are in crisis. Even if we arent really.

It’s not a flounce mate. I can take poor football I’ve seen that before and still went every week. I’m talking about the entire experience today, for me it was awful.

Thanks. I wouldn’t want to be portrayed as having blind faith and I think some of the ideas on here and other blogs to redress ‘stuff’ have been enlightening. Some of the issues we’ve inflicted on ourselves and at the other end of the spectrum the msm are in full offense against the club fuelling the old if you tell a lie often enough you’ll believe it. Despite CQN the majority of our support are unduly influenced by the press.
And to explain – Bonner has yet to be surpassed by Forster. If Forster plays in a world cup and has a similar performance to Packie I might change my mind which would mena dropping Paul Elliot.
Agathe because I was too young to see Danny McGrain at his best and picking Danny would have meant dropping the Maestro.
Izzy – too young for Tommy Gemmel.
Van Dijk – better than McCarthy, Mjallby, Balde. What a pair him and Paul Elliot would have made.
Lennon – Lambert was a better holding midfielder imho. John Collins would have been my pick here but again the Maestro factor comes in to play. The other choice would have been Petrov but Lenny for balance shades it.
Front two self explanatory. Cadette was a flawed genius who like a lot of other players in this team I would love to have seen link up with God. Mcstay, Naka, Larsson, Cadette. whats not to like. Football brains.
Just back from the game, and trying hard to think of a game as bad as that. Only benefit is that it kept me off the drink until now :-)

We need re-enforncements for sure but I think we have a decent core.
We need at least two creative go that spark players as there are none in the current set up.
One in the midfield and one up front.
Is Lenny the man to take us forward to be honest I think he deserves one more season as the manager merry ground never gets any easier..

Fair enough fella. I’m a veteran of the 24 hour trips from the north of Ireland back in the 80s and 90s when we’d run the gauntlet of the security forces at larne to watch willie falconer and Ian Andrews struggle at either end of the park :)

If I said that we had won 16 and drew 3 out of 19, the cry would be 1 horse league but when we had a “Competitive” League, i.e. when the Huns were about we would at most have played them twice by the half way mark, we still had to play ten other teams. You cannot dismiss the 19 unbeaten games as if it was nothing nor the run of clean sheets. Neither can you dismiss that Partick played bloody well. We want a competitive League and when we can’t hump the opposition 5 nil we are in crisis. Now I’m not saying all is well, its obviously not and its heartbreaking to see all the empty seats and lack of atmosphere, plus the pedestrian nature of the games. I can only hope that the penny drops with the suits, we need a couple of exciting signings and get the singing section back or better still a standing section. By the way the man above could lend a hand re the bloody weather or else we may need to borrow Sevco’s retractable roof.
