It’s very easy to tell Lenny’s signings from PL’s. All our manager’s choices were resounding successes while all TSSM’s were abject failures.

PFayr, I am a glass half full person. I also trust folk. I trust the Auldheids of this world who put some of your concerns to the test.
As usual I expect Celtic to quietly make their concerns known on Dougie Dougie, Ogilvie etc. I also think it is a disgrace that the SFA think it is ok to promote the son of a disgraced former ref. He will have an undeniable agenda. Even if the boy doesn’t and for some reason he is whiter than white surely it’s not fair in the boy to eventualy pitch him in to ref a Celtic game. It makes no sense.
The referees should be set up as a separate body to the SFA – outsourced if you like and should provide a service. Clubs should then be able to give feedback to the service provider to tell them how they perform and tell them what improvements they would like to see. It is our product. We are the paying customer. We should be feeding these thoughts to the shareholders at our clubs in order that these ideas are put to the SFA and SPFL boards. Put the ref service out to tender and make it impartial.
The signing policy is not great. I agree. Mind you our scouting of forwards has been woeful. Bangura, Rassmussen, Balde, Pukki all bought for our top money and all of them failures. Hooper granted but Neil Lennon seems to have watched him and demanded him just as he did with Wilson. Maybe the hand off from John Park and now Peter Houston to Neil needs more work. Could Neil have watched Bangura, Rassmussen, Balde and Pukki more before we signed him and he gave up on them? Pukki seems to be getting more of his time but he will soon give up and go back to Peter Lawell and need to justify why this hasn’t worked. Paul 67 seems to hint that we need to dig the players up before the like of Herenveeren and Schalke etc. I agree and we seem to have done this with the Icelandic lad. Hpwever, maybe Neil needs to go and watch a real striker to remind him what one looks like before he goes and watches another candidate our scouts have put him on to. Go and watch Suarez and then look for someone with 3 zeros less on his price tag who might one day do what he does.
The football is not negative, I would say it is pragmatic and played on percentages. Don’t give the ball away is the first premise. However, I wonder if we need to play like that in order that we get used to it for the Champions League. We are clearly not good enough to go into the Champions League and play open football. We need to stick to the simple pass and not have midfielders going ahead of the ball. I would say we have been more negative in the last 3 games than we had been against Juve, AC Milan and Ajax away. If it is the case that we need to play with one style in order to get the practice in for the Champions League then Neil needs to come out and talk about this. Aye players look leggy and tired but only because they are lethargic.
Lastly , I don’t see us being profit obsessed. I see us being pragmatic but that pragmatism can deliver more and particularly an effing striker.

Some camerawork at the Hibs game. They cunningly manage to mask the capacity crowd. Can’t have people thinking Armageddon has been avoided. How hard must it have been to edit the crowd out of the highlights.
………and then they manage it again at the New Firm derby just to show that it wasn’t a fluke.
And you are permanently disgruntled. Now that we have the barbs out of the way, let’s look at the substantive points.
We have just had a shambolic Summer 2013 transfer window.
And it came on the back of our 3rd qualification for the last 16. You may have missed it because you were not posting at that time, lest your posts got lost in the welter of congratulations we were receiving from last year’s mineshafters apologising for the failure of their armageddon predictions to come true then. You seem to feel you have more fertile soil now that we have had a poorish Euro campaign. One bad campaign out of 4 was enough to get rid of WGS, so it should do for Neil too, eh?
We would rather double up on our CEO’s salary than pay the living wage.
This is a point that cuts across the mineshafter/ happyclapper divide so is irrelevant to our debate. I favour the Living Wage and I favour board members and executives being paid and “bonused” at more realistic levels. However, I also recognise that, though it would be good to do this, it would make minimal difference to our finances for football.
We have been put out of Europe after a series of poor team selections and poor performances.
I don’t know if your selections would have been any better because, let’s face it, nobody sane would let you or me pick a pro football team.
Yes, there were poor results and poor performances. The first 70 minutes away to AC was amongst the best performances I have seen from a Celtic squad in Europe, but it earned nothing for us.
We have a series of projects, time wasters and non entities trying out for “Centre Forward Imposter of the Week”.
We have a “Shadow” midfield wasting away in the stand every week.
We have more unfit, poorly conditioned players waiting for their next muscle strain.
Yep, in common with every football club in the world, at any level, there are a number of transfer mistakes warming the bench or awaiting a move. In common with every club in the modern game, we have a lengthy injury list as players seek to protect their playing career and future health. And, in common with every football blog on the planet, we have posters criticising for wrong buys, bizarre subs, no plan B, lost the dressing room, need to buy big, etc; etc;
Mind you, credit where it’s due, divining that our problem was the lack of a suitable sized expensive white elephant stadium for our reserve team, was a unique insight that I have only seen offered on here by yourself.
Oh yes but no worries the TFOD2 tribute act are always worth a chuckle.

I have made a wee line of demarcation between what you might term as a Lenny signing and a Lawwel signing above.
I believe from the quotes I have read that Neil Lennon identified and scouted Gary Hooper. John Park may well have agreed with him but quotes I have read indicate Neil Lennon saw him while he was with Forrest.
However, I have also read quotes from Neil Lennon where he has said that the scouts identify the players and they then narrow a list down until they identify a number of targets. Peter Lawell and others then negotiate. Some from the list are signed others are not.
So who from the list below did Peter Lawwel scout and foist on Neil Lennon?
