The CL tells you everything you need to know.

    Summer 2013 vs 2013 CL — Bought 6 / Played 1

That was after we had lost the spine of our team — 3 sold / 2 badly missed / 2 certain starters.

Something is badly wrong with our player acquisition strategy.

Local players available on the cheap not followed up.

Projects / Punts / Agent special offers — Yes please.

If it doesn’t make sense then it doesn’t make sense.

You / me / we need to ask why?

Two of them were on at the weekend. Dunno about the other two.

Big Draper of ICT is appealing against his red card on the grounds that, only last week, he got an email fromSFA telling him that fouling was now permitted. They forgot to tell him it was only a temporary arrangement.

  6. No football team has ever consistently & repeatedly played Harlem Globetrotter type, all out attacking, football. The Globetrotters were not playing competitively. There’s was a touring circus show.

Not even the Hungarians of the 50’s constantly played flair football.

Nor the Brazilians or the Dutch of the 60’s & 70;s.

That is NOT the nature of competitive football.

These great sides loved to attack, but they did not do it it constantly.

Sometimes their performances had to be functional.

We insult our own intelligences to think that a competitive, physical contact sport can ever become the stuff of exhibition. It won’t happen.

I’m glad that it won’t happen.

I am happy to see Celtic scrapping & grinding out results.

If I ever feel a need for more artistic movement, I will go to watch the Royal Ballet Company.

Meantime, I will enjoy seeing Celtic where I have always wanted them to be.

Comfortably dominating our domestic game & awaiting the opportunities that will inevitablty come their way.

    Our day HAS come.

Weefra, it is not necessary to mention that these guys are Celtic supporters, anyone who is a regular on here knows that. But please stop telling unhappy supporters to stop posting and go elsewhere…that’s all folks!

Just looking at the SPL table.

Good to see the Well, Dons, Utd and Hibs all in the top six now. Apart from the Jambos it’s pretty much all the best supported sides up there now.

The second half of the season could be quite interesting.

How often are you gonna watch a functional-and frequently dysfunctional display before it bores the pants off you?

    Yes,it is competitive sport.

But it is also a spectator sport.

  10. Sammi to the Arsenal, that would be interesting, I reckon he would revel in the epl these days, at least he would get proper protection from the referees.

Wherever he goes, I wish him well and thank him for his time at Celtic.

  11. Getting sick of hearing Celtic miss rankers..bbc sportscene tonight and clyde yesterday due to our stadium not being full every home game..its never Rankers miss us!a leaching shower of cheats but thats ok its Celtics fault..44k sb holders or there abouts why buy them if you cant turn up to support the club you love..instead our club keep scoring own goals and driving fans apart .my fear is that our ground may get even emptier over the next few months if new signings or the product on the park doesnt improve..rant over hh

Good evening my friend but I’m afraid I must disagree with you.

I’m deeply unhappy at some, though not all, of the recent action/inaction of our custodians. However, I won’t and don’t want to be going elsewhere. I’ll still be going to watch every week.

I won’t ever boo or criticise Celtic players although I’ll admit to the occasion ffs through frustration and angst.

Our recent transfer policy has been awful. Poor targets but even poorer signings particularly up front.

Lenny has given us considerable highs but equally there have been some very very low points.

Our board…..well I’m best leaving that for fear of a rant that would lack perspective :-)

I’m worried about Celtic. In my eyes it’s not an irrational fear, it’s genuine and heartfelt. But results and performances will never see me walking away. I couldn’t say the same if I felt we weren’t the club that I’d always supported.

    That’s my greatest concern.

  13. Billy Bhoy supports wee Oscar on

    Cowiebhoy,

Yup, It was Chris Woods, who achieved over 1000 minutes in the SC tie they memorably lost 1-0 to Hamilton at Ibrox.

    Well, I remember it anyway!

  14. Boaby

Lunchtime tomorrow. I don’t gie a f@@k how they’re playing, and you know that. I support Celtic. Ach, maybe am old fashioned. Like a real supporter, like you really are. Defo off now, livestock to attend to in the mo. This friggin pending storm is all we need. But, hey ho. Tok soon.

  15. In the heat of Lisbon on

kinda thinkin Lenny’s future as manager might not be something that he will decide.

As the team play in a fashion that he champions, the stadium empties and the PLC looks on, there can be only 1 outcome.

the PLC will look for someone who can sell season books and it certainly aint Lenny

  16. glendalystonsils on

Apparently 20,000 Celtic fans had their coats and Celtic scarfs on yesterday to go to the match, when they suddenly remembered that ‘Rangers’ were no longer in their division.

They promptly turned around and said to the missus ‘can we go shopping instead, dearest?’

  17. TBJ Praying for Oscar Knox on

I doubt we could have sammi and ibra in the same team and I would personally prefer Zlatan:) . Maybe tony watt could learn a few things from him … maybe polish his medals too.

  18. MadMitch

    Bought 6 / Played 1

    We did buy 6

The spine of our team was a free transfer , a £900k midfielder and a £2.5 centre forward.

Maybe we need a new scouting system if the players we are buying aren’t any good.Or maybe we should give them more than 6 months before we write them off.

Two of the “spine of our team” couldnt get a starting position after 6 months.

    Good call,mate.

Good luck to OLDTIM in the morning.

  21. BMCUWP,

I will NEVER tire of seeing Celtic dominate Scottish football.

i have no dreams of it becoming balletic.

Having seen the cheating of the lean & hungry years, I don’t really care how that ascendancy is achieved.

I only know that there is going to be a show, & the Glasgow Celtic will be there.

Do you think for one minute that our ancient rivals in this city would care about how they put us back in our place ?

It simply would not matter to them.

Neither does it matter to this old Celtic man how we have achieved what we have.

At least I know that you read all my posts even though you are very selective regarding the points you respond to.

As I said easily pleased — 70 minutes out of 540 is a good campaign.

I wish I could live with those numbers, unfortunately I can’t.

Regarding the rest of your comments they are just a collection of generalist platitudes.

No insight, no detail and no understanding of the season and the mistakes that are being made.

You suggest that I am permanently disgruntled — wrong and you know it.

I am by trade a professional worrier and I do not like the path the club is currently following.

I have provided my initial thoughts on a way forward aka the “Growth Agenda”.

How about you provide some thoughts on how the club can progress?

Then we can discuss the economics of a new 10K seater stadium.

Fair enough,mate-and I respect your views.

They largely echo my Dad’s opinions, tbh.

But I still think it is unarguable that a significant number of Celtic supporters are unhappy with what they are seeing. And those views deserve to be stated too.

Maybe ayes maybe naws, but one thing is for sure in spite of the weather transport etc. Parkhead would have been a sell out instead of circa 28.000.
