  1. CELTIC: Barkas, Taylor, Ajeti, Turnbull, Urhoghide, Shaw, McGregor, Montgomery, Ralston, Welsh, Moffat.

Subs: Bain, Abada, Rogic, Edouard, Bolingoli, Afolabi, O’Connor, Coffey, Robertson, Murray, Henderson, Hjelde.

  2. Lowland League FT score

HUNTER extended the lead in the second half before new Celtic signing LAWAL reduced the deficit.

Celtic came into more in the second half. A few shaky moment but the 3 points is all that matters.

  3. We are living in strange times. With Edouard heading for the exit, only two out of the twenty-three listed would be considered first-choices going into the season, in my opinion…McGregor & Turnbull.

I find it almost unbelievable that we find ourselves in such a predicament. We will certainly be making it up as we go along this season……can you be successful doing that? I don’t think so, but would love to be proved wrong.

  4. Celtic v PNE …

Interesting who’s starting, who’s on the bench – and who’s not – with Tuesday in mind ?

    JHB –

Edouard is playing on Tuesday, unless you know more than Ange does and there is a team wanting to buy him. Maybe you could share that information with us and the Scottish media who have obviously missed it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Afternoon gents,

Quick question, Why has Luca Connel not even got a sniff of action so far this pre-season? Is he injured?

  7. timmy7_noted on

The lesser spotted Tom Rogic, probably come on for 15 minutes in the second half then out injured till October.

  8. coolhandlook on

Tom, thanks for the clarification. Just seems strange that Boli is getting a game today and no sign of Luca today or vs Bristol.

I don’t know if and when Edouard will play again for us, and as you rightly say, neither does anyone else. So I am not a party to, and cannot share, any inside information.

I just find it hard to believe that the player, who had some kind of commitment problem for the majority of last season, will want to go into what will be a highly competitive game and risk injury when an imminent move maybe on the cards.

Of course, as our only proven striker I would want him, with a caveat, to be facing the Danes – that caveat is that he will be fully focussed and perform as we all know he can.

Christie and Ajer are conspicuous by their absence for obvious reasons, that Eddy is not, puzzles me. Is he staying to run down his contract? On last season’s showing I hope not.

  10. Tom…. I think you might be wrong re Edouard.

Looks to me like Ang won’t make the same mistake as Lennon and has banished Christie, Ntcham and Eddie..

We can’t afford him telling the manager he has a sore leg 90 mins before a CL qualifier like last season.

I don’t think these 3 will play for the 1st ream again and I totally agree with him.

    JHB & LAXALT –

    Thanks for your responses.

I don’t believe Edouard downed tools last season. I think he simply had a huge form slump. It happens.

If a footballer decides he wants a big money move, why would he make a conscious decision to stop performing? How is that going to attract suitors? It makes no sense.

He is on the bench today, so is clearly in Ange’s plans for Tuesday.

If Eddy does get a move, it’s more likely to be towards the end of the window. In the meantime, as long as Celtic are paying his wages, Ange will use him on Tuesday for a very important game. Of that I have no doubt.

  12. pleased for Barkas

    pleased with Shaw

The CHs and wide mids will not be what we start the league with but CHs may have to play on Tues. Scary for them and us to be fair

  13. so far 7 crosses into our box – we can’t deal with any of them. I know/hope we will bring in taller CH but awful we are in this situation.

  14. turnbull fantastic – Taylor and Montgomery not playing well – Taylor distribution is uncharacteristically off so far. Urigide looks strong

  15. glendalystonsils on

Defending crosses was our major weakness last season . I fear it will not be corrected in time for qualifiers . Still look very suspect .
