Minimum we still need is a GK (I’ve got a feeling Barkas could yet come good – I feel his issue is confidence not ability – Bain on the other hand…. hmmm)
Two CBs, a RB (maybe a cb who can play at RB?) Hopefully Starfelt is on the way.
A Centre mid.
All experienced.
I sense Ange is peeved. Hopefully he will have the wherewithal to put it up to the board. I think he does. His conversation with Dom McKay this evening should be pretty simple- ‘get me a viable squad!!!’

Got mixed feelings about the team – excited to see new signings, youth players and experienced players back together but watching v PNE was same old NL tactics/formation. Is AG really in charge or is it JK?

Opposition are looking at that and thinking we pass the ball ok in midfield but we offer no attacking threat and are highly vulnerable at the back.

I will back Ange 100% but he really has been thrown in at the deep end. Yes we are getting players in, but about a month too late. this board have not helped as they should have.

Pre-season games are shite and are all about fitness bla bla bla. But that game told me:
We need an experienced centreback, rightback and leftback asap
Barkas can dive and pass, who knew
Forrest, johnson the Japanese and Israeli boy along side anita and another will make a significant difference.

despite the urgency of the situation – the board has let celtic down. Full backs and center back are thee critical positions (regardless of Ajer sold or not). Yet , we appear to have been negotiating in this positions for 2-3 weeks. Ange said it takes time due to covid – it shouldn’t take weeks to agree a fee , agree a salary and get medical.
Clearly champs league money is not a priority – OR they think the Danes are worse than us!
As for Ange, his downfall high be the instance on playing total football – good luck on Scottish pitches and with Scottish referees!

Why should we be confident about Tuesday? The Danes will be significantly better than PNE .
We seriously lack quality and experience . A few gifted but inexperienced players can thrive when surrounded by experienced teammates but we have not got the balance to succeed at the moment and that was obvious today .
The Japanese boy and Starfelt need to be joined by another CB and 2 full backs of similar quality asap.

We’ve been woefully unprepared in previous qualifiers but this in unbelievable.
I’d definitely go with the mid to from six you have. Forget that Eddie’s going, we need to give ourselves a chance on Tuesday.
Barkas, yes. Actually that was probably his best game today.
Welsh is a cert.
Urhoghide is very raw and will give away lots of fouls. He might have some good attributes but he will need a fair bit of coaching.
Montgomery looks like he’ll be a far better left back than Taylor but I’d go for Taylor’s experience on Tuesday (forget that he can’t pass and loses possession).
Right back, Holy shit have we ever been so devoid of options.
Some dreadful trying to play out at back from Bain and Boli.
Turnbull very good as was Mcgregor. Like the promise of young Murray. Looking forward to being there on Tuesday. The 9000 need to be like the 300 Spartans.

Think we’re all discouraged I think he’s realised pretty quickly we are rubbish at the back, Welsh (at this stage ) and Taylor are squad players, the rest are too young or not good enough, drastically need good defenders and now, too late for Tuesday and the tie, but of course members of the board will still enjoy their little jolly to Denmark

I agree, not only because there is no future in it, but in my opinion there is no present in it either.
If the boy from Japan hadn’t signed, I would be worrying about Ange’s staying power.
The sooner the European qualifiers are out of the way, the better – we can then swallow the disappointment and get on domestically, which will be an uphill task.
There is neither shape, make, nor, form, to our squad – we are not adding to a core squad, we are trying to build the core. How long will that take?
Well it appears that we are still in the ‘try out’ stage – i.e. try all the players you’ve got and see who could ‘live’ in a restructured squad. We will probably be in the ‘try out’ stage until the end of August and then probably pad things out with some loans.
Dom & Ange have been handed a chalice – maybe not poisoned, but certainly past its ‘sell by date’ Astonishing really!!!
not convinced we will be brushed aside this season ( SG & SFA)

Lee O’Connor in 30 mins looked much better than Tony Ralston
For me Murray & Hjelde, looked far more comfortable in the middle than what Urghohide did
Montgomery or Hjelde, look far far better on left of defence than either Taylor or Bolingoli
I think young Scott Robertson looks very decent, and will be a squad player
Rogic & Edouard got game time, and we seen Abada
Now, when will we see Ange tactics ?
I’m convinced we are still watching the Lenny, Kennedy & Strachan set up
PS, can we try 2 up front, instead of leaving our centre forward isolated

Lots of misplaced optimism around, for no other reason than after 12 months of misery we need to believe it’s about to get better.
