    Why did so many England players take aff their Silver Medals straight away. A clear sign of disgust.

    There is no doubt that when Celtic are in the CL proper and boxing as hard as possible it is such a joy to soak up the atmosphere inside and outside the Holy Ground. It is Electric.

     

     

    No chance we are doing anything this Season on that front.

    Serious question. If you have been coached to play a certain way, how long does it take to change wholescale to play another way.

     

    Not looking to make an excuse for lack of quality and experience which we need, but maybe take a step back and consider that the players are trying to change their approach as well as massively ramp up their fitness in a matter of weeks.

    Ange is not a miracle worker so why there were high levels of optimism when we are as unprepared as ever is a mystery.

     

    Off the field preparation is a shambles every year and has been for years its not a surprise to me that we go into the cl qualifiers in a state of disarray, we plan it that way.

     

    So far the manager has changed, everything else is business as usual only difference is that we don’t have any trophies to keep the season ticket holders happy.

    Anywhere between 21 – 66 days (experts reckon) to change an old habit or adopt a new one.

     

    The Boss was appointed 5 weeks ago, but has had about 2+ weeks with all of his squad.

     

    Add in the complication that Liel and Kyogo prob won’t speak good enough on-field English to know key terms etc, and you’d build in some extra learning time.

     

    We should be right in about 6 weeks time. :O

    I only watched the 1st half yesterday, and then turned off as I was becoming more frustrated and bored to be honest.

     

    Calmac and Turnbull were okay in flashes…as for the rest….?

     

    I saw NOTHING about AJETI last season that I liked….on yesterdays showing he convinced me even more that we sold the wrong guy when we let Klimama go.

     

    Ajeti hasnt a clue…in my opinion. A ” Soft Centre”. I said last season that he was a DUD.

     

    IF hes good enough to play for Celtic then…Im Brad Pitt !

     

     

    Any other NEW Guys coming in….can’t be any worse than the current lot…as yesterday we looked ( Yet again), like a SHAMBLES in Defence.

     

     

    Sadly I BLAME Peter Lawwell and Neil Lennon in particular although certain players should shoulder some blame also.

     

    IF Midgieland are better than Preston…we should ALL be worried ?

    AJETI…NO amount of good Coaching etc is gonna turn a ” DUD” into a good player.

     

    In my life time I think Ive only witnessed ONE Celtic player who looked like a DUD….come good finally….and that was ” BOBBY PETTA”…under Martin O’Neill and co.

     

    I was feeling quite chirpy yesterday after a good day oot with the rest of the Dirty Dozen on Friday…the only thing that cheered me up yesterday was having some good winners at the Horse Racing at good EARLY Odds…of 11/1, 5/1. 7/2 and 0/30.

     

    Maybe I should have watched the 2nd half also as I didnt see young ABADA play ?

    to honest i dont want to go in cl wewill get embarrased we are a pathetic bunch and i have no confidence at all

     

    its theleague we need but i dont think we are ready no money no ambition and our manager robably tenth choice like i said the board from top to bottom pathetic

    PNE are a week into pre-season training. They are 3 weeks from their first competitive game, whilst we are playing an ECL qualifier on Tuesday. They are a mid table Championship team. They should have beaten us 3-0 at Parkhead. We have an EFL League 1 team. If we’re lucky.

     

     

    This is Peter Lawwell’S legacy. He’s transformed the club during his tenure into an enterprise to make money for greedy Tories. That’s only possible because 50K fans will pay through the nose to watch Port Vale – on a crap stream. It’s a cynical abuse of an emotional attachment.

    Abada looked very sharp when he came on – super fast and a good shot. Brief appearance only, but optimistic about him. The Japanese signing – Kyogo Furuhashi looks – from his recent form and videos – to be a cracker and the big Swede will slot in to the defence to hopefully give us a bit of solidity.

     

     

    As with everyone else – agree it is all very late in the day, but no point in dwelling on that – we are where we are, we know the reasons. Onwards and upwards for me – expect a few bumps early in the road, but I do think Ange will get us on a positive road.

    Hope Ange is more motivational in the dressing room than in front of Celtic TV. He sounds really down already before a competitive game has started.

     

    He basically said we started poorly and got worse.

    Some positives from the game against PNE, but honestly think there

     

    were more negatives, can only hope we have bigger and better players

     

    ready to pledge their allegiance to the best club in the universe.

     

    Just watched a great wee series ” THE NEST ” on STAN, I’m sure most of

     

    you have already seen it in the U.K.

     

    With that great wee ghuy from the Port, Martin Compston, and the superb

     

    David Hayman.

     

    Loved Martin talking up the tic and wearing the hoops in it, what a great

     

    ambassador for the club that bhoy is.

     

    Now can anyone tell me what hoops top that was he is wearing ? no Celtic

     

    crest but some writing on it, maybe a testimonial shirt?

     

    And must admit some beautiful panoramic views of Glesgy in it, felt really

     

    nostalgic.

    Big Fraser – your ship sailed, you are limited with the ball at your feet so I doubt it’s true, just a flier to unsettle an already, less than fully confident, goalkeeper.

     

     

    Let’s be honest we need a whole new back four, with experience and organisational skills, ability (of course), they just won’t be here quick enough. Once that is established we’ll have a sounder footing and should kick on (said more in Hope than expectation).

     

     

    I was content with Barkas yesterday, given that he plays further up the park than Bain (I’m nota fan) I’d imagine he’ll be first choice, if we don’t buy a goalkeeper.

     

     

    It looks like defensive reinforcements are on their way, possibly in time for the Cousins of William game

    Appreciate his candour, but he is looking down already and we aren’t even out of pre-season. I wonder if he is realising that he is the patsy.

     

     

    I saw a twitter post saying that back in 2018 when we played AEK, we were worried about a back 4 of Lustig, Hendry, Ajer and Tierney; Lustig and Hendry being the weak links.

     

     

    Ohh for those halcyon days! That example is a microcosm of the mismanagement of our club and denuding of quality in the final years of Peter the Great.
