  1. PeterLatchfordsBelly having watched the clip on X (link posted earlier), the referee’s whistle was blown exactly as the clock at the top of the screen ticked over onto 95:00. So technically it was within the allotted time, but the penalty kick should have been the final kick off the ball (rebound notwithstanding). There should have been no subsequent play.

Furthermore, whoever the pundit was immediately stated “that’s never a penalty!”. But I did think that the second QP defender impeded the rangers player (who 100% played for the pen) from jumping for the ball… albeit he wouldn’t have connected due to the first defender’s header. If it had been a Celtic player attacking I suspect we’d have wanted the decision and would have accused the ref of cheating had it not been forthcoming.

    Greenpinta were you there yesterday????

    ————

Unfortunately no. I am currently working away from home, but I watched it on TV.

  5. Huns result has cheered-up a miserable weekend that started with some White Van man side-swipin’ the oul’ chariot…………

They goat a penalty as well!?………………..what was the odds on that????????

    Aye.

  6. Queen’s Park lost 2-1 at bottom-of-the-Championship Airdrieonians last weekend. They needed extra-time to get past League One Montrose in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

  7. Greenpinta the reason I asked was that on TV you couldn’t see the huge spaces on top tier

Looked 40k to me compared to say 50 that it usually is

  8. Philippe…

“Results like this, I’m frustrated about it. The only way for this club to get consistency for the future, to build something, is to keep consistency.

  9. That sparked wild scenes of celebration and meant Queen’s Park became only the second side to win in 18 games at Ibrox this season after Olympique Lyonnais.

Celtic couldn’t do it. Neither could Tottenham.

Above from BBC Scotland match report, there’s a lot of hurt there at the moment and a lot of Huns

victoria on the thrown. and ibrox didnt exist.

qp become another team that has beatenthe two rangers.

On Saturday 29 October, Queen’s Park beat Vale of Leven 2-1 in a fine game in Alexandria. Willie Anderson put Queen’s ahead with a slick goal in seven minutes and Tom Brock added a second two minutes later. Vale pulled one back through David Friel five minutes from time.

Queen’s Park were away from home again on the following Saturday. Their opponents were Rangers and the match attracted 5,000 spectators to Kinning Park. Queen’s Park fell behind in 25 minutes to a Corbett goal but two second half goals, one from a Johnny Kay header and the other from David Allan, gave the visitors a 2-1 victory. The Queen’s Park team was A R Rowan; A Watson and A H Holm; J J Gow and J W Holm; M J E Fraser, W Anderson, G Angus, G Ker, J L Kay, and D S Allan.

and now to the cheats with the whistles.

I don’t normally defend match officials in any way but….

In a league game it is important to play all the due added time as any goal(s) either way might affect GD and league place at end of season. Referees have considerable leeway with regard time management and in a cup game with one team 5 ahead, the outcome of the match will not be altered by playing 3 or 4 added minutes and do calling time dead on 90 mins is reasonable. Also, from my point of view, it meant no risk of injuries in that 3 or 4 mins to key players with no real gain in terms of the result.

I for one was delighted there was no added time v Raith Rovers, having won £100 on Celtic 5-0.

i dont believe those relentless goal hungry celtic players want time up blown on 90.

its a cheat, and coupons will be busted an awe.

  18. Great Celtic times indeed.

25 years ago this week we lost to Inverness Caley at home in the cup.

Since then we have won 18 leagues and they have won 7. We have won 11 Scottish Cups to their 6 and 12 Lesgue Cups to their 7. A total of 41 Trophies to their 20.

Prior to that we had won just 4 trophies in 12 years since 1988. They won 25 in that period.

We’re going to Tynecastle in the quarterfinals. Calling it now.

I take it you’re fed up with Celtic getting easy home draws.

  20. This was a truly once in a lifetime event.

So so good to see. And to see Young Hazard do so well v Liverpool. Reminder of the treble we celebrated less than any on our history but which we still grafted for and deserved.

    1-0 league cup v thems

Really strong early new year form in league after set back v them at Celtic Park in December.

Dug deep when it was all going against us v Hibs and Hearts in the cup with no fans.

Great result and performance from the hoop yesterday and well done to Queens Park on their victory at the bigotdome today.

You absolutely knew a penalty was coming but not that the hall of famer Tavpen would miss.

The banter years just go on and on…..

  22. For those interested in other Celtic good news the Puskas team beat Ferencvaros tonight in Hungary.

Given the latter are potentially going to have a higher coefficient than us it is in our interests for them not to win the league there so we are more likely seeded in the play off draw in August.

Have you follow followed the CHAMPIONS WALL story, mug punters paid to get their photie included in a montage of former players to celebrate “55”. but they are still waiting on it being completed.

I think I will phone them tomorrow and ask how can i get added.

    =================

Stivs, you are forgetting the accounting standard that is unique to both clubs out of ibrox.

    Its called BigGeordiescut/dip/fleece/scam

It has been rife in orange ordour circles and started as the new club looked to the past for identity,it covered the huns at the “charity” legneds game vs Ac Milan and has had many facets to it this ‘wall’ being the latest.

It leads one to the assumption ‘giving’ does not work with the people.

  25. the long wait is over on

Jezz – that penalty at the bigotdome was soft.

While I think VAR , for all its flaws , has made things better it just shows that in circumstances where they REALLY need it they will still be given a shocking decision or two or three or however many they need.

Well done QP and Callum Davidson who seems a genuinely decent and down to earth guy.
