There was a very good article by James Forrest,in the last couple of days, among the dearth of very poor ones, about Willie Collum, and the Dundee U. Red Card incident with.
Walsh hung out to dry.Worth a read. When you stop pissing yourself laughing.
I stand corrected re my previous post about squad depth.
I (lazily) assumed they took the chance to rest some players.
Saw the starting lineup for the first time just now.
At least seven automatic first choice starters and two others who’d make every squad and most games.

*RESULTS FROM GAME #39 CELTIC 5 RAITH ROVERS 0 (MAEDA(3), McCOWAN, YANG)*
Good evening, friends.
My own pre-match concerns that we weren’t starting with our strongest team were very quickly dispersed when Daizen Maeda decided to show us how quickly he can adapt to his centre forward role. A beautifully placed stroke into the corner of the net in 5 minutes got us off to the perfect start. A wee 10 minute spell midway through the first half was our only sloppy period and it was during this time that Raith had their solitary chance of the game, a breakaway and decent enough chip allowing Sinisallo to make his first competitive save in a Celtic jersey.
On 36 minutes Hatate came on for the injured Bernardo and hopefully it was more of a cautionary move with Paulo being fit and available for our next game.
Shades of our midweek home game against Dundee, we again got our second goal in first half stoppage time. A brilliant breakaway goal with Kuhn feeding Yang who played it back across perfectly into the path of Maeda. Game, set and match.
The second half was still in its infancy when we got our third. Yang had his second assist in 3 minutes when his pass across the 6 yard box was clipped by McCowan into the net. And on 55 minutes Yang completed his best 10 minute spell in the hoops when he volleyed a wonderful Ralston cross into the net.
More substitutes followed with the departing McGregor, Kuhn, Yang and Schlupp replaced by Engels, Jota, Kenny and Nawrocki. Fortunately, Daizen remained on the park and in 76 minutes got his hat trick, and his 50th Celtic goal, slotting home a low cross from McCowan.
The Brendan Rodgers Scottish Cup love in continues – played 19, won 19! And hopefully both those numbers eventually change to 22. And this afternoon’s events certainly increase the possibility of that! I mean, even EKFC took Queens Park to extra time in the Challenge Cup semi final, coming back from 0-2!!
The full results are below but there’s something worth highlighting. In midweek, Daizen Maeda became the 9th player to receive 100% of the votes since I restarted this wee venture in season 2022-23. He now becomes the first player ‘ever’ to have received 100% approval in consecutive games! He has also been voted Man Of the Match 3 games in a row.
We have now played 39 games this season, winning 29, drawing 7 and losing 3. We have scored 110 and conceded 33 (domestically it’s 97-19 and in Europe it’s 13-14).
Thank you so much to the 68 who voted this time around. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.
Sinisalo: 0
Ralston: 1
Murray*: 19
Scales: 2
Schlupp: 7
McGregor: 8
McCowan*: 48
Bernardo: 0
Kuhn: 4
Maeda*: 68
Yang: 45
Hatate: 1
Engels: 1
Jota: 0
Kenny: 0
Nawrocki: 0
And so, the players receiving POINTS for the game against Raith Rovers are –
Maeda – 5 points
McCowan – 4 points
Yang – 3 points
Murray – 2 points
McGregor – 1 point
And the overall positions after 39 games played are –
We now have the home leg of our Champions League play off round as Celtic aim to win through to the last 16. It’s an 8.00pm kick off on Wednesday evening against Bayern Munich. Do us proud, bhoys!

Ok I’ll start it – feel free to add verses
Just over the river
In Govan one day
The new Glasgow Rangers a game they did play
With a billion pound striker
And the old ‘same club’ lie
To play lowly Queens in a Scottish Cup tie
I wonder if Feeleep still thinks that the league is still not over
Ps Feel you’ll get good odds for a bet if you fancy it?
Pps Big Jimmy will advise you as he’s our resident betsman!!
” they will be talking about this all over Europe….”
The queens came up they know they would not win.
As the second rangers were honest and true
They would get the ref to blow before time.
