IN WHAT can only be described as a fairly bizarre season, Celtic have had three different managers for the first three derby encounters of a tumultuous campaign.
Brendan Rodgers was in the dug-out for the dull scoreless stalemate at Ibrox in August, but interim gaffer Martin O’Neill had more luck when he led the team to a 3-1 extra-time win over Rangers in the Premier Sports League Cup semi-final in November.
Wilfried Nancy was in the dug-out for the 3-1 home loss on January 3, his sixth loss in eight games that triggered his sacking after 33 catastrophic days at Parkhead.
O’Neill once again restored the balance during a double-header in Govan in March when the champions drew 2-2 in a league encounter and won 4-2 on penalty-kicks in the Scottish Cup quarter-final following a goalless extra-time draw.
