Gerrard has got 5 points from his first 4 SPFL games, sacked before…..?

So according to the SkySports online highlights Celtic never hit the woodwork at all and McGregor never kicked Ajer. But Edouard getting a yellow for nothing was a key but of the action. Who the hell compiled that you have to wonder. Glad I unsubscribed years ago.

Just as a wee warm up for the Negs who will be on sooner or later, I felt Rogic was just off yesterday. I also felt James was bit patchy and Eddie was not firing on all cylinders.Calmac, too, was not his recent, brilliant self.
Lustig was better than of late but if the loanee is as good as we can expect a £13 m player to be, then all round improvement on a good display is still likely.
Just imagine what the score might have been !!!

I thought Boyata was imperious yesterday. Would love to see a close up of when Morelos seemed to dump him to the ground for their one shot on target. The commentator seems to think he clearly won the ball but seems unlikely given Boyata was between Morelos and the ball when he suddenly was sent sprawling. Also just seen the Brown Booking. Lafferty really is a shameless cheat. Can you not be cited for that, almost Mulgrew incident like.
DeniaBhoy on
Over on FF, many of them are clinging to the belief that we will get worse and they will get better, that they won’t be so tired / scared / clueless at ibrox. That Slippy G will learn that you can’t sit in against us.
I don’t think they understand how threadbare their squad is likely to become on the back of several weeks of multiple games. October > December has been brutal to us the last two seasons when we were playing double the number of games of all the other SPFL clubs.
We could chop and change our midfield and forward lines regularly without too much of a problem (defence clearly not). We could replace the best talent in Scotland with . . . the best talent in Scotland. Drop Armstrong and Rogic, play McGregor and Ntcham. Drop Dembele, play Griffiths and so on and so forth.
I cannot see their journeymen and loanees having the ability to cope with the demands of playing /being spanked in Europe on a Thursday night and bossing it on the Sunday.
This is just the start of the season and they are already using tiredness as an excuse.
Bateen Bhoy on
Hot Smoked,
In addition to Benkovic, we also have Mulumbu, Morgan, Arzani, and Bitton to return from injury, all of whom should increase competition and raise performance levels of those who excelled yesterday. After an admittedly poor ‘transfer window’ things on the pitch really don’t look so bad as some would have us believe ?

“As we mainly play with one up front, I am not sure that we need three. Even if i could be convinced that we did, what level of player would we get for third choice? Better than Christie?”
Well we did manage to obtain Edouard as our 3rd choice striker last year and he is certainly a level above Christie. BR was also staring to implement a two striker formation with Edouard playing wide and Dembele up front. I think he would still be amenable to that formation if we had the personnel.
We should have three strikers at the club. BR has said as much. We play about 60 games a year with little in the way of a summer break. Injures and suspension could leave us in a poor position. Hopefully we get through until January when we will have a replacement for Dembele (amongst many other signings) lined up.

Something along the lines of the refs need to show more awareness of certain player’s habits when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Brown’s tackle was clean, studs were down and there was no contact. Come out and tell it as it is Brendan. Lafferty, McGregor, Jack and Morelos – habitual cheats, plain and simple.

Bang on Turkeybhoy – Mika was excellent and could have topped a top class performance with his run & header – very unlucky. He is always well up for these games and once again did not let us down.
Wee Jamesie is becoming more and more influential in this fixture and terrorised them yesterday.
I was massively encouraged by 2 things yesterday:
The togetherness of our camp, led by Brendan, in the aftermath of a difficult time.
How little fitba Sevco have in them, hardly strung 4 passes together. They are a slightly better version of Kilmarnock/St Johnstone type teams – decent shape with 2 banks of 4 but seem incapable of attacking innovation.

A new 3-year deal with a 25-30 million clause sounds about right.
