From the upper jock stein section, it looked like a rangers sub who went round to pass a message to MacGregor.
Straight away he went down with an injury. All the rangers players then went over to the sideline and got instructions from the coaching staff. It looked preplanned.

Yep . Sickening and sad to see the best and most lethal player on the pitch (Eddy) rendered impotent by the lack of quality round about him today Both wingers cutting inside to clutter up Eddy’s patch in the middle and not making the runs which might have drawn the 2 or 3 defenders constantly policing Eddy to give him some space.
Sevco used their more modest talents more effectively today.
Maybe Lenny thought MJ might turn in a match winning performance on the back of his new 5 year deal but it certainly didn’t work out that way.

Today is a major set back. For first time, I feel our league winning run is in genuine doubt. This is not like last year. We do not have a game in hand with a nice run of home games after the split.
I have them as favourites given their run of home games and the next derby being at Ibrox.
Neil has two months to put together another ten match winning run then it’s Ibrox. He needs to come up with a line up and strategy for their press. First things first, win the next ten games.
We can have no bad days when we come back.

Re the meeja, I do mostly for all others but I retain an interest in the national broadcaster.
The Shortie football wing is horrible but should be shown-up at every opportunity.
Julien by far the best of our back four, not brilliant but who was?
As for those hoping for the return of the Kenyan Fenian? Have any of you seen him play recently? Why do so many think that he’s the answer? We have a strong skillful central midfielder already on the books in ON, but despite hitting a good run of form recently, the tactical genius that is Lennon thought that we would be better off with Mikey ‘mr muscle’ Johnston. Only took NF 70 minutes to remember that MJ is a waste of a Jersey but by then it was too late for Ntcham to make a difference…

Today though, he’s been let down somewhat by his players. This was not the Cluj qualifier again. Neil owned that result but today lies with the players.

I don’t think Eddy is an out and out number 9. We need to learn to use him in the way we did on the rare occasions he played with Moussa. It also gives us a 4-4-2 option.
Bayo isn’t going to do it and Griffiths is way off the pace and question marks hang over him.
Whether we go for the boy Sporar we’ve been linked with i don’t know, if he scores goals then great. Dare i say it, Cosgrove could be a decent foil for Eddy. He is a handful and knows where the back of the net is. Sure there are limitations but if it was Cosgrove and the boy Sporar that would give us more threat and physicality.
Folk will say its unrealistic to think we could sign two strikers but were going for 9 in a a row and we have two strikers who aren’t at the races.

I think they’re favourites because they’ve got 9 games at home from 14 up to the split. We’ve got 5 at home and 8 away during that time.
We needed a cushion for the second part of the season and we didn’t earn it today. Clinging to being two points in front when they’ve a game in hand over Ross county at Ibrox is simply delusional.
We do ourselves no favours by underestimating their threat. They’re favourites for me but they were favourites at Ibrox in September. Bottom line, it doesn’t matter who the favourites are – we’ve two and half months to put things right.

Despite our stuttering play today, most of the key incidents which decided the result were on the goal line just inside the post.
Twice Rangers covered their post and cleared headers off their line.
We left our post unattended and Katic had an open door.
I played right back at school and was always taught to cover the post at corners. It reduces the target by 40% if both posts are covered but neither Neil nor Brendan deploy this tactic.
I would like someone who is more tactically aware than I am to explain why managers don’t do this.

Hrvastski Jim,
It’s just a defensive choice, like zonal marking or man to man.
If you do one you sacrifice another, men on posts means more space in other areas of the box which can be exploited.
When it goes for a coach he is a genius, when it goes against they’re a dud.
Still licking wounds tonight.
We need some hard shifts on the training ground in the next few weeks and to come back fresh and determined. And reinforced.

I think the non defending of the posts is due to the fear that those guys on the posts will play attackers onside if the ball is partially cleared and then returned.
It’s a 50/50 thing.
I was annoyed with Christie and McGregor giving away so many sill y fouls with a jersey tug or whatever, especially in the last 15 or so.

‘We have to be a lot more physical going forward’ – Neil Lennon BBC post match.
Thanks to the poster of the link.
There you have it – the front four were powderpuff.
Eddy is an exceptional talent. You can’t have players around him who blow hot and cold.
Hit Smoked – I don’t think anyone was saying that about Neil. What I did say was he said he didn’t think we deserved to lose.
And we did deserve to lose.
I also said I think he has decided this season not to criticise the team publicly, something he was doing a lot at Hibs.
John Kennedy DONE heehaw .. he just looked at the Sev back room staff guy going nuts
MJ completely powder puff; way too light weight.
Why is Sinclair shut out?
