If Ajer had at least made an attempt to challenge Katic to that cross instead of being frozen yo the spot , they probably wouldn’t have scored . By the same token , if Kent hadn’t been left in splendid isolation in the middle of our box they might not have got the first either. Yes , our midfield was over run , yes our front 4 were ineffective but our defence didn’t cover itself in glory either.

  2. Despite the dismal result, Ive opened the Dada ” Chocolate” and will imbibe greedily.

Sleep will come much easier and I will awake with a sore napper doubtless but still glad to be a Tim.

    Cheers!

Lenny was a dud today and a lucky dud at the Cup final. He needs to up his game for March 15

  4. I have no idea why people keep going on about how they lost games after the break last season, that was last season and a very different hun team, what is happening now is a very different scenario to last year, if it comforts you to believe that fair enough.

  5. CRC, Lenny needs to up hips game in every game between now and 15th March.

We need to have our noses in front and not allow the Lanarkshire Refs have any influence at all in the run in.

Well done with the walking challenge, great effort.

  6. Yous are no listening jullien is not the dominant centre half we require in the league we play in, he has not got the ability to play against the bustling style of the big target men in the SPL , at best he is an old sweeper style playing behind a centre half , probably better suited to the non contact football of hitting long passes or just clearing your lines and that pairing him with Ayer who is a very similar player is a bomb-scare

Today`s result has dimmed my optimism not one iota.

Rangers won today on tactics alone. Not on personnel , because imho we have better players .

Lennie and his assistants must now review seriously what went wrong.

    Twice.

And yet we won the one we had to win.

It was obvious that the hun had figured out how to shut down wee Frimpong , and yet we persisted in feeding him. His threat is in going to the line for the cut back.

The hun defence neutered him and therefore our principle line of attack.

A sobering lesson which I am sure will be learned and acted upon .

Why did Christie take the pen when Ice Man was on the pitch?

Akin to Georgio’s miss that won them the league and got them (illegal) CL cash?

History doesn’t repeat…….but does it rhyme?

    Nope.

Sevco have shown in the last two meetings that they have the blueprint to beat us . We now have to come up with a blueprint of our own to restore the status quo . It will obviously have to be a different approach to today’s failed approach.

    Lenny is under the microscope.

Ah well as the new year approaches we enter a new decade. Which means I’ve watch Celtic 50 years, 1969 – 2019, win lose or draw seen it all.

Here’s to 2020 and remember it’s the hope that kills them😂 come back stronger after winter shutdown👍👏

  13. There will be a few weeks of Hun optimism and so it should they “nearly” won the league cup … they didn’t … they have won at Celtic Park for the first time in this existence, and 2010 was their last victory in any form …

Celtic are still top of the league

We will go into the next decade as treble winners, top of the league with a few hurdles to overcome…. this, in fact, OUR team …. recharge the batteries and go again … BUT if you want to sit on your phone or laptop banging away at the keys worrying … well you will probably always worry ….

Probably around the end of May those pesky adverts or login problems will return :-)

Am off to ma kip still a very happy Tim, exceptional team & exceptional times, take a breather and ask yourself can you ever remember a time when we went nearly a decade without even winning once in Govan ??? Even the late 80s & 90s … I cant … never mind top of the league and already the “first” trophy in the bag …..

I suppose we all have a different outlook :-)

  16. MACJAY 1 FOR NEIL LENNON @ 21:04

I think wr have been kidding ourselves on that we have better players than them. They beat us comprehensively twice last season, pummelled us at Hampden, and now this. I can see no area where we have better players.

Add to this that only one team looked to be professionally coached today. All the Ibrox players knew their job, stuck to it and won every battle.

This is not the end of the world, but I suggest it’s the end of an era.

There was no cohesion in the Celtic team – it was a series of individual performances which were not good enough.

You spend far too much time on Twitter influenced by others how about am original post from yourself ??

Or can you only copy n paste

  18. Father Jack – spot on. Some seem to think because they imploded post break last season, they will do it again this year.

I think before today we were 10 points better off than last year. They are, I assume similarly better off. We are close to max points yet they are right beside us and the form team.

Although both teams are likely to drop a few points, every game is going to be seen as a must win with no margin for error.

Last year Morelos’s suspensions cost them dear. They were inclined to drop points when he was out. This year they don’t look like a one man team.

  19. For the question that was asked earlier.

Rangers backup goalkeeper Andy Firth got short shrift from Celtic stewards as he looked to pass a message to Allan McGregor .

The 23-year-old was despatched by the Light Blues dugout to pass on a message to his team-mate.

But the Rangers man made the mistake of sprinting up to the Celtic end to catch his fellow keeper’s attention and was quickly told to get back to his own half of the field.

As Hoops substitute Leigh Griffiths watched on and the Parkhead faithful hurled pelters in his direction, Firth was grabbed by a steward and told in no uncertain terms that he wasn’t allowed in that half of the field.

  20. let it sink in a newly formed club was allowed to get the better of us think about thatlawell and lennon

  21. MacJay1 – I see these comments all the time that it’s tactics that causes these Celtic defeats.

It’s not tactics to misplace passes, concede silly fouls or be outplayed by your opposite number as that is what happened today.

  22. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Lenny thought we deserved a draw today. Would make you weep. You can’t solve a problem until you’re willing to acknowledge it.

  23. The guy who tried to pass on the message was not a substitute, so he is not allowed to leave the technical area, but he did

  24. in the league cup final we got lucky but today there was no luck but its two games in row we have been poor

The transfer market price is not the only criterion on which to judge the quality of player.

But it is surely a reasonable indicator.

The transfer market value for our players would surely be dramatically higher than for theirs.

Hence the ” better players ” comment I made.

The professional coaching comment you made is imho precisely where the problem lies .

But only with the hun games .

i am confident that Lennie will admit to the problem and will fix it.

In addition , I fully expect a harder challenge from the “also rans ” than they have hitherto provided .

Incidentally , a slight feeling of relief that the monkey is off our backs.

We were always going to lose to them at some stage.

    Today it happened.

  26. GFTB

Respectfully, we do have a different outlook. If you think that leading the league by 2 points when the Hun has a game in hand versus Ross County at the Bigotdome is cause for celebration, then you are in for a hard landing. Complacently defying reality is what got us into this mess. I don’t want to hear about last season either – we had the game in hand and this Hun team is far superior to last year’s. Strategically, it is far more prudent to assume we are a point behind.

There is too much wishful thinking on Celtic web sites that the Hun will financially implode – it’s not going to happen, despite how much we wish it to happen. If our augmentation in January does not exceed that of the Hun, then we are in deep trouble. Resting on our last decade’s laurels will not help us one jot in 2020. We need to keep looking forward, and not backwards. Hail, hail.

    IniquitousIV

  27. you might accept defeat from a new club I don’t like it and will say so you don’t like it don’t read it

  28. PETERLATCHFORDSBELLY on 29TH DECEMBER 2019 9:32 PM

The manager is entitled to spin the positive after such a sore defeat at home.

However the match stats slightly favour us on possesion ,shots and corners.

Therefore saying we deserved a draw is not exactly nonsense.

    We are all dissapointed.

I refuse to go after Lennon who has done a remarkable job since taking over.

I believe he will get it right and learn from todays defeat.

Rangers are a miles better team now than anything BR faced in the last 3 seasons.

We are going to have to fight like dogs to win the title this year.

In Neil Lennon we have the correct man for the job.

    p.s

French Eddy was our worst player today for me.

Wasted nearly everything and just ran into defenders.

Whilst I usually marvel at his work I don’t see why he gets off the hook for a dire display when wee james forrest gets slaughtered.

    Don`t disagree. Individual errors matter.

Nevertheless , I remain convinced that we were tactically outmanoeuvered today AND at Hampden .
