  1. Paul yesterday –

‘We will win tomorrow despite the whim of the First Minister.’

I get worried when he’s so confident about Celtic – he has a history of these wrong predictions.

For his sake, I hope he’s not so uber confident in his business life.

  2. Prestonpans

We’ve had a couple of strange terrific performances according to Neil this season.

‘Probably our worst showing against the Huns for a long long time.’

Our worst showing since last November…It is seriously worrying how Stevie G has Neil in his back pocket.

    *he disnae beale does.

Simple question Would we have lost if Brendan was in charge ??

*we lost in his last game against them and if he had stayed we might not have got NIAR.

67 EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS It’s a moot point and I know nobody wants to say a good word about BR but I believe if Rogers was backed and had the net spend Lennon had this window, we’d walk this league.

*he was, we bought big Eddy but then he told the board he wanted tae go tae China and take the Moose with him.

    AIPPLE on 17TH OCTOBER 2020 4:07 PM

Furthermore, and not to make any excuses but we should be putting together a highlights reel of Morelos behavior and sending to the beaks.

*last time we did that Maxwell allegedly told PL tae eff off.

His post match comments this season have been wide of the mark. Not surprised by the garbage he spouted today. Painful to watch on the touchline as well. No passion, nothing, just sits mumbling to himself. His days should be numbered but our owner and board would not shed one single tear if the hun won the league this year. Anyone on here who thinks otherwise is gravely mistaken.

  5. Chris Sutton:

‘Well done Rangers, thoroughly deserved win against Celtic reserves’

    Mad me laugh anyway

Sutton sums up the mentality of those who think, all is well with Celtic at present. Wonder what he would have said if Rony had been manager today, not his pal Lennon….

We can only win this league with a new manager – discuss….

    __________________________________________________________________

How’s that for a vote of confidence!

We are the only team to have won a domestic trophy since 2015,

    why not discuss that?

Leagues are neither won or lost in October.

  8. Who’s confident we’ll bounce back and thump Aberdeen?

Right now, the best we can hope for is another dull performance, nick a late win then come on here and read people say “It’s the three points that matter”.

Performances DO matter because you get stuck in a rut and it’s hard to suddenly switch it on when the quality of opposition steps up.

The best we all hope for is a comprehensive victory with our best players available for selection.

That’s 3 times in a row now Sevco have outplayed us .. They imploded last season, but unless they implode again this season which is highly unlikely, we are in for a long hard season.

Only my opinion, but I think our squad has got progressively poorer each year since Brendan’s first season.

In addition Lenny will need to seriously up his game ..

I hope he can, as that was a complete and utter shambles today.

This season could potentially see the Club miss out on £50 Million pounds of lost revenue.

We have already missed out on £30 Million pounds of champions league money.

The difference between winning and losing the league this year could be another £20 Million.

Win the league and with good marketing we would bring in an extra £10 Million in merchandise sales etc. with 10 In A Row.

Lose the league and we kiss goodbye to an extra £10 Million in merchandising, and also then factor in a drop off in Season Ticket sales of at least £10 Million as well.

With so much at stake this year it begs the question again, do we really have the best suitably qualified people running our Club both on and off the park.

Well this season will answer all these questions.

Time was when we used to see a reaction to a setback like today but I think the fire in the bellies has been missing for so long that I’m only expecting more of what we’ve had this season .

A fraught , late ,narrow win at best, from a flat performance .

  12. All this Sevco “outlplayed us”…really?

We were piss poor today all over the park, but the goals were laughably bad and apart from that I cant remember one moment of being cut open., maybe Kent’s shot.

The same problems today were exactly the same as I witnessed last week. We are toothless. Slow in the build up, sloppy with passed and devoid of ideas.

  13. We have been playing total garbage for some time now, to deny that is head in the sand stuff, the only reason we are winning, just, is we have better players that the rest, sevco excluded for the winning, all it shows is how badly we are coached, imo of course.

We are regressing at an alarming rate.

  16. JAMES FORREST on 17TH OCTOBER 2020 3:50 PM

    WESTCRAIGS:

The Celtic board gave this manager £16 million plus to spend in the last window. Peter Lawwell did not instruct the players today to play a rigid system that mean nobody challenged for a ball if they weren’t within 6 yards of it. Dermot Desmond did not make like-for-like substitutions at 2-0 down.

Those guys did, however, hire Neil Lennon without interviewing or even considering another candidate.

The blame stretches in many directions … but the guy in the dugout today was responsible for that shambles. If you want to question his hiring, that’s a different issue … but this one’s on him.

    James F

    .

I couldn’t agree more with what you posted at 3.50pm. he was the manager today and the blame falls squarely on Lennons shoulders,He picked the team and is wholly responsible for the shambles for today.

Another thing that could be responsible is the slagging off the players on the blog, do you think that any of the players don’t read the blog, you can rest assured that some will read it and pass on your remarks to others,This blog has gone down hill because so called Supporters slagging of most of the team these days,

for god sake grow up and keep your slagging to your self.

  17. CORKCELT on 17TH OCTOBER 2020 2:56 PM

Duffy was poor but he was not alone.

Duffy had played 300 minutes of football in last 10 days before today and has been to & back from both Slovakia & Finland.

That’s hilarious Corky. A few weeks back you were telling us all how he needed games and was waiting to get up to speed.

Take your fenian blinkers off fella. He is what he’s giving us – a gallus big, honest pro, terrific in the air but poor on the ground, slow of turn and with poor distribution. This IS Shane Duffy but he’s now part of the undroppables which must cheer up those around him.

His signing was an odd one. It wasn’t systemic (we needed a left footed CH) and was basically a Julien replacement who could do blood and snotters. He costs us a fortune.

BR did not want to go to China

BR wanted to talk to a Chinese club

    Big difference

The reason was to see his worth

Do you believe BR would have gone to China ??

BR was our best Manager since MON

    Look at Leicester

BR was not getting the love from PL

At Celtic there is only one boss PL

BR was getting lots of attention not just from China

McGinn going to Villa was the last straw for BR

We lost McGinn to Villa for half a million quid

    What’s he worth now

BR is a top class manager and we let him fly

My love for Celtic knows no bounds – but it is not blinkered

  19. For the first time ever ,and I am in my seventies, I went out and never watched the game

Celtic have the best players sevco has the best team.We seem to just send the players out with no plan just depending on individual brilliance, they send their ones out with a plan.

Sorry to say it but Neil looks as he has runout of ideas

    Time for change ?

  20. From the first minute, the players’ body language, lack of application and fight, failure to quickly challenge or tackle, and absence of communication, gave me a feeling of impending doom.

By not making any changes at halftime, our manager compounded the fiasco. The situation looked ominous before they scored the second, and then it was far too late. We were outcoached and outmanaged, and this bankrupt zombie club have owned us in every game since (and including) the Forster League Cup Final. Why are we so complacent, and why are we not learning from these experiences and changing our tactics? Very, very disappointed in Neil Lennon today.

  21. Neil Lennon like all supporters is watching a team that can’t compete with this average Sevco team,His tactics started in the first half, and the same tactics in the second half ,end result 0/2,,to me that tells me he hasn’t a clue to change things around,So he has to find some scapegoat, and low and behold there’s a mole in the squad, for god sake come clean and say we were poor and not for the first time we have been a average team, also I would like to say the rest of his coaches don’t look if they couldn’t care less ,they just seem static,no personality we need to get our act together or we can forget about the 10.

  22. Needs to forget about leaking team.

Frimpong is an impact sub but needs to work on his control & distribution.

We need to get a formation that the players can fit into & stick with it.

    IMO of course.

  23. We have the players. We lack the right shape.

Looking at it again the first goal required a better tuned defensive line. Duffy at fault for stepping back too early. If he doesn’t it is offside. But he does.

The second, we had chances to clear our lines, we didn’t . The shape running back toward goal was wrong which meant no celtic player to stop the ball as it cones across. 9 times out of 10 duffys block doesn’t land at the zombie players feet. But it did.

Moi- side foot it. Goal. But from a zombie pov goldson and helander are all over the place for that effort. Goldson in paricular. Moi had him beaten in the air on a number of occasions i might add.

Griefs chance, if he has a few games under his expanded belt, gets slid under or chipped over the advancing beast. But it didn’t.

From their pov a straight pass from an advancing centre back has split their defence in two. Pretty poor in fact.

I suppose my point is I don’t think they get any better. They have their shape, their forward flicks and tricks and one touch passing phases are based on knowing there will be players running the channels. My opinion is that they shouldn’t be getting into those positions as often as they did at times.

When Neil came back the football got better for a spell. Rodgers stuff had become dull and predictable. I was delighted that there were players playing close to each other, outfall available and a more fluid look to the team. We have regressed a bit. And we also need a second ba player at the back. Duffy should be instructed to make clearances and get the ball short to the footballers. I like the guy and he has a big part to play in the months ahead, not least in instilling done backbone and fight into the team, but Chris A and Chris J are better at football.

I’ve always enjoyed my drink and my songs better after a defeat. Its the defiant nature of the Celtic family I think. So heads up, brains engaged, enjoy the debate and remember this is only a blog, no clique, real or inagined, is to blame for any of this mess today (and whatever failings have contributed to it). In fact think about this, do you think Peter Lawwell, hard nosed capitalist that he is, defying everyone to suit his own agenda if foljs are to be believed, looks online to see if he has enough cover from the cqn clique or the celtic da’s for his next dastardly plot to keep sevco alive so his bonus is bigger?

Nearly 50 years a celt and i am still standing. All the better for the knocks and the set backs.

Stream if consciousness over. Later Timland

  24. lets all do the huddle on

still cant believe we didnt have a single shot on target

    at home

to me this is much more than just a lack of tactics from the management

i think its that, combined with the fact that our players might not be that good after all

    lets be honest

we have been pretty shite all season and hadnt even really played anyone yet apart from ferencvaros, who are at best an average side

  25. lets all do the huddle on

Needs to forget about leaking team.

    —-

    exactly

    major red herring

    major deflection

rugby internationals give their team out 2 days in advance

if your team is good enough then its good enough

i bet neil knew what rangers starting line up was probably going to be but could still do fek all about it

yes, its bad that those leaks happen and needs to be stopped, but it is not related to shite performances and shouldnt be mentioned in the context of the game

  26. here is a very celtic da thought – how many games did it take MON to suss out what Alex mcleish was doing to our older incarnation of the 3-5-2?

I recall a couple of losses before he stuck Jackie mcnamara at a more conventional right back role and totally nullified lovenkrands. Or maybe it is my fading memory?

Ah, but NL is no MON I hear you say.

Maybe not, but hey, I have to console myself somehow.

  27. Dermot Desmond Personally got Brenda Rodgers to come to Celtic,To replace Lennon with a good coach like Pochetiino ex Spurs ,who I believe is being linked to Man Utd if Solsjar team start winning games,I know it would cost a lot money to bring Ponchennito ,but if you can bring in a coach like Rodgers surely they should try and bring the ex Spurs man to Celtic, if not there is a lot off Good young Managers in The Bundslegia.

  28. “ AC Milan’s winning start goes on!

It’s early days, of course, but just how big a win could that be?

Milan are three points clear at the top of Serie A after four wins from four courtesy of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic double against derby rivals Inter.”

  29. DD. chooses the managers. PL just gives them the nod. DD tells the CEO on what direction the club should operate PL carries those wishes out, to the fullest. Nothing, absolutely nothing will change if the club release Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell, Dermott calls the shots and until he changes the way he wants the club run, and that is highly unlikely, then nothing will change, por cierto.
