“Reigning champions Celtic are still unbeaten this official season. In the five matches that were played, they also scored fifteen goals and conceded only one. They also recorded a clean sheet against Rangers and with the victory they put their direct rival, who already lost points, at a serious disadvantage in the Scottish title race.
Didn’t realise r2ngers spent nearly £12m in the transfer window _ thought they were skint. (well they are now)
” Celtic brought in £10.59m more in the summer transfer market than they spent, Aberdeen made a profit of £2.67m, Motherwell were up £1.34m and Heart of Midlothian £1.01m, but Hibernian spent £438,460 more than they brought in, while Rangers’ net spend was £11.71m.”

Great that 4 newbies to the Glasgow derby got starts and now appreciate what it is all about.
I was concerned that the preconditioning which clearly is in evidence with colleagues such as Diomande Souter Butland Dessers Sterling might not be wired into Jefte Proper Cerny and Barron plus the subs. My fear was they might arrive with belief they could actually win. Not so and like many this past decade of doom for them they now know what Espanyolification really looks like. They could be in 6th place and 8 points off the pace set by Celtic and Aberdeen by the end of their next game.
The decade of doom started with a season where they failed to get promotion first time from the championship. They then lost to Hibs in the cup final a year later when they did go up. Then 3 trophies across 8 years of living well outside their means. The only 3 trophies since 2011. Plenty medicine still to take as well. Not a surprise to see and hear poor Kris Boyd so upset.
Great to see new rangers traditions being upheld and Celtic continue to build to the next level.
Delighted that Bernardo showed his ability to step into O Riley’s shoes as many doubted. Hopefully we slowly assimilate our new guys into the squad as they will definitely be needed. There was some truth in Clement’s comment about players playing together knowing things instinctively. My expectation re the new lads would be more like November onwards for them to really be integrated to allow full and seamless rotation.
Brendans team selections will be interesting this next few weeks.
As for the hunterlopers who have infiltrated this place over recent weeks. GIRUY.
Far better football-educated men than me have highlighted Butland’s achilles heel in struggling with shots low and to his left in the last few seasons, both on this blog and elsewhere. Kyogo again brutally pin-pointed this flaw yesterday which I mentioned at the time, but seems this is not the case. Thanks for keeping me right

I’m sure I wasn’t alone in rewatching the fun last night, but I spotted something (rotten) that I had missed during the game.
When R2ngers lose the ball in a quick turnover for our third, Daizen was involved at the start then played a short ball and watched CalMac take off. As CalMac moves inside, the wee rat McAusland, fully 10 metres away from the ball, takes Daizen out, just to make a point I presume. Ref? Assistant? VAR? A definite booking if not a red for deliberately hurting an opponent.
A new rat on the block for those of a ‘staunch’ persuasion.

It might have been me who talked about Serco’s early 2 chances to score ( there were also a couple of pass-backs from Lesser & McAusland that they pretended were shots at goal).
At the match, I did not know that they were offside and neither did most who weren’t watching on TV.
I’ve seen the TV highlights now and agree that they were both offside chances- but would they have been called?

You can say what you like about Kris Boyd but that was a honest summation of the game, we could do with more so called pundits being the same!
Speaking of predictions, shout out to Tom Boyd in #7 yesterday. He said Maeda to score first and 3-0.

………..
Glad to help you out.
It’s probably been mentioned (I haven’t read back yet).
Diomande being booked , then in the second half Beaton points out 4 times after a foul he’s made challenges and one he’ll be off ….
Behind him Tavernier is saying ,but John , John .
Why was he not sent off there and then instead of giving the huns a chance to sub him …….
Managers questioning refs decisions are sanctioned why are officials not sanctioned for poor decisions ……
We stayed overnight in The Radisson Red after the match .
A long lye in , and now up to Eusebi’s for a brunch .
Life is good .
Thank you Brendan and the Bhoys .
There is nothing like the desperation of Huns in tears , who cannot see any daylight .
What a blissful day ahead .

Especially if you’re at work.

In no particular order
Wages free up
Confirmed prize money projection in Europa following hearts elimination
Chump change for Wright and Cantwell
Chunk of season ticket money
Was some of the above earmarked for future costs? (Tax bills, construction, salaries)
Likely.
But when living hand to mouth, bills due next quarter are not priorities.
Well done Luke McCowan…..Lifeguard to Lifebhoy.

There has been a lot of talk about SPFL opponents targeting Greg Taylor with long diagonal balls.
The game yesterday started with just such a ball. Rangers from the kick off sent the ball straight away on a long diagonal to………………….
