A close encounter with the third kind was never on and once again that cavernous gap, reopened with John Beaton’s whistle. In Parkhead’s green place twinkle toed Paulo Bernardo stepped up as predicted, and Celtic’s signature tenacity, in summer paid off big time, in the first half.
The proverbial “ if it was a boxing match it would have been stopped “ was never more appropriate. Hatate, Bernardo, and Maeda could all have scored more, in the first half where Brendan Rodger’s team ran riot with Alistair Johnston and Greg Taylor backing a miles better midfield trio.
Two free kicks and hope springing eternal gave Sevco the opening minutes, before Kyogo’s ‘ there’s your dinner ‘ was found amid delirium, to be offside by baw hair or ‘a Dallas ’. Daizen Maeda tortured Sevco with athleticism wide on the left , a feature of his game that draws him towards the ball into the penalty box, for the inevitable opener. Kyogo could have flounced but didn’t and his sublime strike was always staunchion bound, and screamed ‘pick it out’ perfectly.
The second half was anti climatic apart from the full stadium Huddle near the end, in between Kyogo especially should have scored. BR brought on James of the five hundred club, and almost as if to rub it in, a bit more, Engels, Idah and McCowan. We game managed it out and demonstrated our superiority when Callum McGregor picked a spot to aim at in the Celtic end, found it, and it was pint time and another school night of rebelary and merry making for the overjoyed supporters.

Lots of unpleasant facets to the huns today
Lawrence brought on to foul
Alex Rae being carded
Subs putting Paulo off before he takes a corner (as did the near side linesman)
Just general hunnery

kyogo has scored against him from outside the box 3 times in the last 9 months.
Waiting to go in to dinner – so all I will say is that it was a mastersrtoke to bring back Brendan – there is so much more to come from this group of players. Callum Hail Hail (keeps getting better), Jamsie (500) Hail Hail, Luke (dream comes true) Hail Hail, and that goes for all the players in the squad today. The gulf is there for all to see but it’s now only the thin end of a wedge that will open up throughout the season – great day out and now for a great night in – HH & God bless Brendan Rodgers!

Looking forward to Sportscene later on. Hope Michael Stewart is in the house. Must admit I dont mind Kris Boyd too much especially on days like these. Not a bad analyst and guaranteed to verge on the edge of self combustion with the performance of the team in blue. All adds to the entertainment.
Next up Hearts at home, couple of weeks away, which will give Naismith time to ponder his inevitable demise at Celtic Park. Looking forward to that already.

Just got back 30 minutes ago, don’t know what the traffic problem was outside CP but took an age to get away from the ground to the motorway 🤬 Watched the huns team buses passing us with a police escort, would love to see through those stained windows.
Anyhooos just read the baldy Belgium’s post match comments, I honestly think he’s lost the plot, reminds me of that other manager they had who was arguing with fans in a garden 😳

Cyberspace can spin up a conspiracy theory in no time at all – I get that.
But what is incontrovertible about the VAR image for the offside goals – the lines from the furthestmost parts of the bodies of the two players measured – come down at two different angles.
At the very least, questions need to be asked of John Moss.
Interesting to see Daizen taken out of the press today (only Kyogo & Hatate committed to it) so he could defend against their breaks and have the energy retained for the many great balls played behind their back line, mostly by the much maligned Liam Scales who, once again, outshone his defensive partner.
I have to pick only 3 from a great Top 4 performers (Calmac, Daizen, Paolo Bernardo & Scales) Kuhn and Kaspar were not bad either.
The other thing I’d note, after all the transfer window angst, was that we won the match with a team that was, apart from Paolo, available to us pre the transfer window.
We had a really good day and I hope it keeps us warm through the international break.

Dont forget the SFA carried out a World Wide search to find a new Head of Referee Operations….

The disallowed Kyogo was one of the best examples of Ange-Brendanball I’ve ever seen. Unless Kyogo was offside when he scored, (and I’m sure there was a defender there or thereabouts) then it has to be blatant cheating by VARs. Beaton never disallowed it, did the Asst Ref flag it up, will need to watch it again…

As for R2ngers- who cares really?
But a few observations if I may.
Butland – One Eyed Jack
Diamonde – escaped his third red card against Celtic in a similar manner to the way he escaped his second and his first.
Inexplicably !!!!
Any other football jurisdiction he’d be hauled up. Coached to foul and play short passes in a triangle and nothing more. Limited and overrated in equal measure.
Jefte – might very well be a footballer .. Brazilian penchant for tricks, nutmegs and show pony stuff on display today – but never a defender.
Captain “Disappointed” – Not even pretending to play for the team now. (Why would you I suppose when they tried to punt you?). Went through the motions. Not interested in defending.
Souttar …. S–L–O–W B–R–A–I–N
Propper …. S–L–O–W L–E–G–S
Barron – runs, points, claps, hustles, passes sideways. Newer version of Halliday and Holt.
Cerny – lazy b*****d
Dessers – I’ve said before on here and I’ll say it again. A decent player but not a finisher.

Is this the first time ever that Sky never showed the “lines”
Wonder why

Warning : Lots of swearing but worth a listen.
By the way … Kuhn can’t score with his shoulder/arm look at his feet …
Although maybe tomorrow Sky will tell us you can score with above sleeve …
Dallas is a cheat along with Beaton
(By the way I would do the same for Celtic)
