St Martin stepping up was again; the right thing at the right time
What is less than helpful was the statement he bolloxed all over the official site
But after listening to brendans pressers maybe he thought that loosing the first bolt would help.
However
What a respobnse from the team, individual players stepping up and bursting a gut
Especially those who were not included in the match day squads this year
Huge credit goes to Martin and Shaun for giving the players belief, dig and drive

Delighted to see Osmand getting his chance. He looked great in pre-season games. I wonder how many of our younger guys could have been given more of a chance in the past couple of years. I go to a lot of B team games and thought Rocco Vata was outstanding. Water under the bridge now, but it’s great Osmand is in and maybe Shaun will start to give one or two more a chance.
Well deserved, great to see some dig and determination, second half they kinda took us by surprise I reckon, but once we weathered their storm we took control again, never seen Walsh so bias, the call must be out, sadly our suits will just bend over and take it.
Strange how some folks see the game, I thot Engels was superb, took so much pressure off CalMac and allowed him much more control, as for Jonny Kenny and Ozzy, they will only get better, Jamsie was superb when he came on as was KT, Sarachie ran his heart out, over the proverbial, wee Sean deserves a special mention as it must have been his decision to include young Ozzy.
Def red for the hun and am surprised that Austin stayed on given the rank officiating, as for their pen, Dearie Me…..Eff them.

He is so young and to most of us on here a grandkid
He played well tonight, depsite missing a few chances he got a toe on the one that mattered
Here’s hoping he gets the minutes and is able to develop and mature into the striker that many thought he was gonna be
One thing for sure, our departed manager was not gonna give him the time on the pitch to do that
I have (mostly) always been a brendan fan but his treatment of Trusty, Engels, Kenny and Osmand in denying them the game time they need (especially Trusty who has already proven his mettle to start and use the excuse of not wanting 2 left footers at centre half as it upsets the balance – remember atalanta?? )
I hope we can continue to believe in our players and play the best player for the position and not the best player for the system

Pleased for Martin.
I thought we were excellent in the first half. We were aggressive and confident. Kenny caused them huge problems. Trusty was a colossus.
In the 2nd half we were too passive and allowed them to crawl back into the game. They moved Tavernier into an inverted midfield position and we were slow to adjust and switch the play to the left. Tounekti was indicative of the problem. That being said the penalty Walsh gave them is a scandal and it’s an even bigger scandal that the VAR has not intervened.
There is evidence to suggest that some players are glad to see the back of Brendan by the nature of the performances and increased intensity. I can’t understand how Osmand has come so quickly into the equation and looks to be a threat. He is obviously highly rated by someone who has been at the club.
As for the search for a new manager. It’s an awkward time to recruit. My money is on Martin being given until the final at least.
The squad doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as it did just 7 days ago. Maybe Dermot was right. Time will tell. The protests will surely die down. A win over Rangers is just the tonic. It’s how this city rolls.

Well once again the “Trebles” on.A very hard game in the final, but we are there.AJ back, hunners of strikers fighting for a game.Callmac moved forward, Engels in a proper position. Two LBs.Looking much better.

When Lenny asked MoN about his thoughts on Osmand I swear for a moment Martin had no idea who he was referring to – “that the young lad. . .?”
Then he said he needed to go and watch some Larsson DVDs to be more composed in front of goal. Said with a smile, of course, but a wee message I think that he has a lot to learn.

That was the week that was.
Martin O’Neill proved that the manager is the supremo, at any football club. That’s why some supporters defend them to the end.
Not even subtle were the changes in team selection made by MON and Shaun the subbing was better staged, and Celtic were the superior team over the piece with lots of local derby controversy aided and abetted by interpretation of rules, and then there’s the VAR hun.
Arne Engels young player mysteriously went from ‘shoe in’ last season to frozen out. A was much better physical addition and badly needed to double pivot with Calmac, who was even free’d up for a great goal. Benny Nygren’s unconscious ‘goal’ ruled out, wasn’t stopping Celtic’s new more direct approach, in a first half where we were even an aerial threat, a superb header, a Celtic striker rarity and the icing on the first half cake.
Rainjurz unlike Hearts were wide open at the back and couldn’t handle Seb Tounetki especially in a period after half time, we should have put a few more into our Hampden happy place , but had to wait for Callum Osmand. We’ve gone from nobody playing well to everyone, playing well in a week.
Maligned ever present Liam Scales was immense from start to finish Auston Trusty easily justifies his place and price. Tony (gets it) Ralston had a great game despite the ludicrous new penalty hand ball interpretation, gifted by Nicky Walsh and patched by Andrew Dallas. Kieran Tierney threatened on the left like Saracchi before him James Forrest hit the bar with his swinger, and ran Rainjurz downwards in extra time, but it was Calum Osmand that did a Stevie Chalmers like diversion, into the Celtic end, for a thoroughly deserved 3-1.
Two new heroes in one day, really was piling on the agony putting on the style.

Of all the complaints about out board the one that I agree with most is how we take bad officiating lying down. We need to officially ask for an explanation of the penalty. Kilmarnock had a week long enquiry for a handball that was reasonably obvious.
