    1. Calmac grabbed the ball;

     

     

    2. Maeda started his run towards goal;

     

     

    3. When Calmac played the ball, Maeda was offside;

     

     

    4. Maeda came back into an ‘onside’ position. Still ‘offside’, as he had been offside when Calmac played the ball;

     

     

    HOWEVER….

     

     

    5. Another Celtic player played the ball while Maeda was in his new offside position.

     

     

    6. Maeda turned and ran (from his ONSIDE position).

    No matter how good the camera work is watching on TV is always a second best option. But despite not being there in person I thought Walsh’s performance was strange. I’d never bought into the notion that he was an Ibrox mole but I began to revise my opinion in the first half. Then the sending off. Walsh was adamant that the R2ngers man was going. He was equally adamant that Trusty didn’t merit a red.

     

    Yes, the Ibrox men did play better in the second half but without the penalty award the chances were that they wouldn’t score. For about 10 minutes before and after the penalty every Celtic challenge was penalised and every opposition foul ignored. All round, it was a mystifying performance.

     

    ps That was never a penalty. Only the poisonous combination of McLean and Dallas could torture the truth enough to give that award.

    It was a disgraceful performance backed up by a tainted VAR

     

     

    (son of dallas in the var van – who would have thunk it……)

    Re poor officiating

     

     

    I refute the suggestion that Celtic don’t challenge poor officiating. What they don’t do is grandstand on it. One thing our former CEO did on several occasions was make sure complaints were made strongly and through the proper channels.

     

     

    What I would say given the crazy media hysterics today (and I have not seen replays of any of it and Hampden did not offer me a greet vantage point today) is that it would serve our CEO or Chair well to publicly engage on this as the public narrative is all one way. Best to complain when you win. What I did sense was we seemed to have different standards applied for bookings and play regularly delayed when we were trying to take quick free kicks etc.

    The huns demanding an explanation from the SFA as to why Trusty wasn’t red carded .

     

     

    They might have new owners and a new nmanager but they’re still up to the same old deflection and the same old entitled attitude . Wonder if we’ll demand to know why Cornelius wasn’t red carded for a far worse tackle on Nygren?
