Rewatched the highlights. Aside from the 3 we scored we had 13 other near things, including the goal chopped off. Our xG must’ve been through the roof.
Belmont Brian – my Mum passed away a few weeks ago of vascular dementia. Your comments in jest to a fellow poster did not upset me in the slightest, all about context.
(by the way she gave birth to me at home in Belmont St, is that where you are from? ).
Happy Monday everyone. Those Fenian refs and VAR officials have a lot to answer for. Like how they were not reduced to 9 men after the Cornelius ankle breaker.

Lets not shed too many tears for Brendan.
Opportunities are opening up.
First at Wolves, then at Southampton and I suspect soon at Norwich….
Thing is all those clubs are at or near the bottom of the league
I appreciate your comment and thanks for understanding.
I hope you and your family are well, losing a loved one is extremely difficult.
And, yes, I lived in Belmont St from 1976, No.45 at the lane.

Gutted to hear Osmond not in Euro squad. So the manager didn’t pick Shin or Osmond for that.
Seems odd to me. Only Kenny and Ianatcho.

The positive is the lad will be fresh and buzzing for Sunday.

Also at the game it was refreshing not hear the usual dirges from a section of our support.
Personally I would rather have organic encouragement than the anachronistic crap we get subjected to.

Sorry to hear that. My mum currently going through this. Thankfully she is still in her own house and whilst a shell of her previous self, she is calm and recognises us all. The carers she have are amazing and one of us is in daily too..

B78, am waiting on our politicians etc condemning the anti-Catholic songbook from that lot. We do have some nuggets in our own support but the numbers in their end singing FTPand the Vatican along with the Famine Song is quite unbelievable.
I fact, I didn’t even make it out of Rutherglen without being subject to their pathetic behaviour. Walking past the 20 Club as they filed out, one young lad in his late teens/early 20’s with his dad, told us to GTF ya Fenuan B’s. Lovely people……

Was thinking, about the new manager.Personally,I would keep Martin and Sean at least till the Cup final is past. MON would not know much about Saints, maybe Sean would,. so what would a foreign coach and his staff know?It seems like the players are happy and commited at the moment, not sure its wise for anotherr upheaval, especially with the run of games to Xmas.
Seems likely candidates would be more suited to joining then.
Repeat of the game on Premier Sports at 11.30 and 5.30

Not at all surprised by ‘their’ behaviour.Their song sheet is anti RC and that has been the case for decades. There was a joke that use to do the rounds here in Belfast years ago..What is the difference between a RC and a Fenian? Ans: RC plays for Linfield.Anyhow, Celtic took care of ‘ them’ yesterday,to send their hordes away in a sombre mood.Talking on the pitch comes to mind

In the same way I am also not waiting for the no. 9876 bus from my house to wherever I want to go …

Our victory over them (both societally and in football terms) is simple.
We are not them.

What shocks me more about the songbook is not that the public authorities do nothing to stop it, but that it exists at all.
What culture are we in where the hatred against 3rd, 4th, 5th generation Irish Catholics is so ingrained that tens of thousands of people belt out these songs on a weekly basis? These are not anti-Celtic songs, they are aimed at you, me, our spouses, kids, grandkids, simply because of our ethnic, cultural background.
If I heard a fellow Celtic fan make a chant against an ethnic minority I’d call him out. For them it’s not just part of their identity, it is their identity.
It’s odd maybe but I know a number of supporters of the deid team, some of them season ticket holders at Ibrox (all of them married to Catholics admittedly) but better people you couldn’t meet.

Callum Osmand is listed on the UEFA website as eligble to compete in the EL. (Yamada does not seem to be)
But he is not in the 23 (25?) man squad. Could come in at some point, say if Maeda goes January.

Correction, both Idah and Yamada were listed with UEFA as part of Celtic overall team squad.
Lot of young players listed there too, as well as the young Man City CB

I can’t recall the specific regs …
… but a club can submit a B-list of ? up to 8 players ? … under a certain age.
Wasn’t sure if that applied to home grown youngsters only.
Likely not the case if Osmand is showing as eligible.
