  1. Callum McG has another two seasons after this, as a 10 he could likely do more, we have him out of position and have done for years, he is a genuinely very good footballer ask MON he knows what he’s looking at as he played midfield himself. Callum is trying to drive the team but the quality around him is severley lacking

  2. If a drunk who has just shat himself accused me of eyeing up his toothless girlfriend and wanted a square go – me walking away and saying nothing is not evidence that I was attracted to his girlfriend nor that I was afraid of a fight.

  3. Burnley

I asked you to clarify your comments re our previous manager.

You didn’t and you won’t. There are no ‘by all accounts’

It’s just innuendo from an unknown source in an unknown galaxy (remember when we laughed at the huns thus)

However, that was never your point. It was the ‘years to come’ line you were keen to type. You can see the Honda civic being driven swiftly into a wall and you want to make sure you can continue to blame Brendan today, tomorrow and for as long as you need to. Anything rather than identifying the true root causes, some of whom may be better known to you.

You are a coward Burnley78. A coward and a liar.

  4. Oh for a Barry Robson or an Alan Thompson in the midfield we are soft and pushed around. Raskin would get a toe up his hole rapidly.

  8. Jock Stein gave the answer.

    Football without fans is nothing.

They pay at the turnstile and deserve to be entertained.

    That`s all.

  9. Brendan walked away the first time and commented that people would feel differently in time. He knew it was a dysfunctional mess and they had enough rope. All he had to do was wait.

This time around it’s much the same. What an absolute mess Desmond has made of this. Rodgers must be sitting thinking to himself hell mend them.

  10. Delboy Tisdale will see us alwight. This time next year we will be run by Billionaires.Cushty.

    You know it makes sense

  12. Brendan is a smart guy ; he knew the next manager would struggle badly — although he was glad to see MON do well. Nancy being appointed was a WTF moment for Rodgers and anybody with experience of the demands and expectations of a major club. It was always going to end in failure with 70 goals removed from the Team Kyogo, Kuhn, Idah and Jota. What has turned it into a disaster is that they appointed a guy completely out of his depth and he can’t see what he is doing wrong with his kamikaze football.

Rodgers quite rightly said nothing as he knew the disaster that would unfold. He knew the Celtic fans would turn as they saw Lawwells legacy play out. Rodgers has been round the circuit twice with Celtic and he know the black arts that would be deployed against him from blocking signings, press briefings, internet attacks with his fan boys in CQN doing their damndest. The attacks continue to try and blame him. Paul67 is at the heart of this and would rather see Celtic lose under Rodgers to launch personal attacks. They will keeep at this but even on CQN they have been sussed out big time.

What will hurt Desmond most is having to pay up Rodgers contract for listening to Lawwell. He knows this now and it has been hinted that Lawwell was asked to step down. Desmond doesn’t like losing out financially— bad for the ego/reputation.

It’s almost certain he will have to perform the nodding duck routine for Nancy & co and Tisdale contracts. Tisdale is a spiv and Desmond should have seen through him. The best spivs are the public school boys with porcelain English accents who have never done a days work in their lives. It’s the stress that breaks them —- I see the same in Nicholson he is aging badly in a very short space of time. No Peter eh Mick !

Nicholson incompetence will ensure he is a goner soon enough.

Desmond is a financier , investor but never a guy who ran companies. He invested far and wide including JV’s in Canada. He even likes a bet — big one on the Milan – Liverpool game when it was 3 nil at HT. However he never was a guy to build structures eg. in a FTSE 100 company.

So every change of manager is huge risk as there is no proper structures in place; it’s not to difficult to do— copy progressive football clubs at home or abroad ( Arsenal, Bodo,…) one for every letter of the alphabet. Some on here would have you believe we had the structures because of 2 decades of domestic success — we actually had no competition ; we are a small local Glasgow company run like a corner shop.

From Rodgers who has won more trophies than Nancy has games at Celtic —- quite an achievement. It takes remarkable gross incompetence to it in weeks. It proves the structures were never there and the team has been seriously downsized.

In my humble opinion the change will be made soon as this is now a total embarrassment to Desmond and people will be questioning his marbles. He has to show he still has something….

Or he finds a buyer —- but it won’t be a US one with deep pockets.

    In the meantime focus

    1. Get MON & Co in ASAP

    2. New chairperson and CEO ASAP. Clear out others over 18 months.

    3. Rebuild Teams

    4. New board and Exec Team develop purpose, vision and strategy for 2030.

Yip, fair play to BR for giving it a go twice, ultimately a victim of ‘ No net spend ‘

Gets most of them in the end at Celtic, they tried for an opposite type ‘development’ manager.

You know like the one that was called for on here by Paul67 towards the end of the season, no intention of employing another manager that would want in on recruitment or how much the spend would be.

Now look what they’ve gone and done.

  14. Feel sorry for fancy nancy

Last few games we have dominated most teams for a full half and not taken our chances

(huns, motherwell, Livingstone, aberdeen, dundee utd, in the scottlish league cup – st mirren heats and in europe roma)

surely he can see our set up

Depsite having 2 training sessions is fucked

If only the fucking idiot had a full pre season!!

Cos after telling us no changes

    He changed it all

And after 6 or 7 games he bitched (and he did) about not having enough games on the training ground to change it

    Fucking idiot

  15. Purpose, vision and strategy!! How dare you that is for rich successful people. Bow your head and hope for forgiveness.

  16. ADVERTISEMENT
  17. GerryBhoy He also said the manager should have full control of the football side. Shankly could have moved to Liverpool before he did. But he was not guaranteed control. There was a poster earlier suggested giving the manager full control was a mistake…or was it DD made a mistake? Never in a million years would I give WN total control as he has proved he is inadequate. We did have a manager though that was successful, and whatever went wrong, time will tell. Managers need to control the football. That is when we are most successful. We did not and are not making our club the best it can be. That is all I want to be the best we can be.

In the 60s the board were picking the team before JS arrived. No one should be signing players without the managers agreement. For whatever reason. That is real back to basics. No business objective.

    Sorry for highlighting your post.

    Best wishes Boab.

  18. Out of his depth; overwhelmed by the size of the job; should never have been hired and THAT is the problem.

    He needs to go now.

Those who hired him need to front up and fix what they fucked up!

GerryBhoy He also said the manager should have full control of the football side.

*At the board meeting on Thursday March 4, 1965, the night after Jocks return he was asked what the team would be on the Saturday, seemingly he said that due to a wee injury here and a wee cold there he couldnae name it, at that Sir Bob allegedly said so you are telling us to mind our own business to which the greatest manager we have ever had said that’s about the size of it, this story was related to us by Hugh McIlvanney, a close friend of the Big Mhan, in the Centennial video to which he added Jock said its no use saying you have control when you don’t, on that note its worthwhile reading Alex Gordon’s column on this very site as one in the know

  21. Glenowen @ 7:53 pm,

    Exactly

The innuendo and unsubstantited nonsense levelled at our ex-manager, is just how the rogues in our Boardroom work.

It takes no time at all to determine the accusations made against him were nonsense – yet we are supposed to believe that there are a myriad of accusations that are so bad the Brendan haters can’t even repeat them.

I’ve no intention of taking my time up with their nonsense, they were wrong and they now have proved to be wrong, very wrong – but consider this…

The Celtic Hierarchy went to Roger Hannah of the Sun and told him

“He’s the only manager in the club’s history who has repeatedly questioned things….”

That was printed on the 5th Sept.

Dermot Desmond said this in his official statement on the 27th Oct

“statements about transfers and club operations came entirely out of the blue…”

How on earth can these two conflicting statements possibly be true?

It seems to me that DD was so immersed in the Barchester deal that he was paying little or no attention to Celtic.

When his attention returned to the club he was briefed by the senior Board members who took the opportunity to bull$£¡t him.

Not thinking for one moment he was going to spout it out in a rage in the public domain.

    Hail Hail

  22. Maolmuire O Muirgheasa on

The next move from the unterschweine at the trough will be… illuminating to say the least.

Should they allow Nancy to continue, it will confirm a quiet truth, they are willing to let either Sevco or the Edinburgh huns grasp the title, all to preserve the faint illusion of competition. A necessary sacrifice, or so they believe.

But they have backed themselves into a corner they did not envisage. The Lennon three-card monte won’t work this time around, leaving Nancy to flounder just long enough to make the title unreachable, then casting him aside to feign decisiveness. We have see that movie before and we will not be buying a ticket for the sequel.

This is what unfolds now. They would rather let the league slip from their own grasp, if it means keeping others buoyant. But this time, we are not merely watching. We are counting the cards. And we have their number.

If they believe they will get away with it a second time… they are profoundly, and perhaps fatally, mistaken.

They may believe this is still a game of perception. It has become something else entirely.

It would make one think. They live so well on the money of others (our money). But at what point does gratitude turn into strategy? Are the unterschweine at the trough just feasting… or are they quietly, methodically, ensuring the supply can never be cut off? The deepest betrayal often wears the guise of dependence.

The next few days will tell us all we need to know.

  23. One thing you can say is that Burnley 78 regularly goes to our games.

He puts his money where his mouth is.

So in my opinion he deserves to state his views. His views may be unpopular, but big deal. He has earned the right to his opinion.

    It was baltic today.

Many attending the game had to travel at mad o’clock.

Many of us needed blinkers as the sun was so powerful. Very uncomfortable watch, pardon the pun.

The prices for food in the stadium are shocking.

There is definitely no hot water in the Jock Stein upper

I have every respect for those who made the effort to attend.

I have lesser respect for those who had a long lie , then watched the game in the comfort of the house or pub, then slagged off those who made the effort to attend.

Armchair critics, what are they like?

I think the board factored in the size of the change when WN was appointed, to the extent we’d lose the league.

They didn’t factor in the total collapse or the peasants revolt at the ridiculous system he’s trying to play still after 8 games. ST’s are already being patched, even last season they were ahem getting passed around, or as empty as BR.

Being played off the park by Motherwell was the watershed IMO the second half today was inevitable.

  27. We were certainly well schooled by `well; if you know what I mean.

Second half today was a similar story so, he needs to GO!

  28. Greenpinta,

Ridiculous post.So fans with no STs watching the game on TV,should have no opinion.

Maybe if Burnleys friends on the Board had a bit of backbone,we could have had another 3,000 fans there today.Keep the ban on them, and let the GB ,who attend every game, which you say you admire, back in.Maybe our Board like to hear their filth, rather than see banners telling them the truth.

  29. Lucky Cody

    A well laid out scenario

However, it does beg some questions

What about Desmond saying his family will never sell?

If he speaks with forged Tongue, why would he not sell to a new US investor?

    What about Arab sports washing?

Is there not some Scots/Irish rich guy who could afford to buy Desmond shares?

What about a top 5 club owner buying out Desmond and using us as a feeder Club?

However, Nancy has to go, He’s lost the players
