Walking home yesterday in disbelief. That we have fallen so far in such a short period of time is really quite extraordinary. Not only is the squad short of quality but most importantly it lacks character and spirit.
In recruitment character is often overlooked and we are seeing that is spades this season however what is worse is a manager that cannot inspire and motivate – that is the building block #1 for everything that follows. It is what makes a manager and builds a team – there is no shortcut or philosophy that works in team sports without a man manager that can motivate and inspire the group and we absolutely do not have it. We would be well minded to think long and hard about the next permanent appt. – give me spirit and character before the tactics board any day.

Anyone, be that a manager or a mere supporter, who still thinks that our goalie is good enough to start doesn’t know what they are talking about. If Sinisalo isn’t thought to be a suitable replacement what are we doing about it? Probably fuck all. That’s our normal response to any difficulties, pull up the duvet Michael it’s cold out there.

I think the board own this shambles 100%. Forget how BRs time ended but ask how did it get to the point that a normally unflappable media operator started uttering nonsense car analogies?
He was clearly promised X or he simply would not have come back. He had said after Leicester he was having a min year out but we convinced him to come back – remember we went after him, sold him the dream.
From Kyogo onwards it has been a shambles and like him or not BR is a successful and experienced manager and he saw what was in the post. The board did not back a proper recruitment drive or squad management and in the process undermined the manager with more projects when what was required was some quality starters to replace those that left (Kyogo, Kuhn, Ihah) and those that were ripe for trading (Meada, Hatate). Now again like him or not have a walk in BR shoes when despite all your knowledge and experience what your feeding up is being ignored and then the whispering campaign starts about poor value from previous buys etc. how are you feeling? Motivated? Part of a team? Don’t forget that despite the hefty prices paid for Engels etc we still didn’t have a NET spend and as has been well documented our negotiators had the pants well pulled down at that time. Then we have the infamous leak to The Sun – how’s your mood then?
BR did not undermine players – he did and said what every manager says in every interview in every transfer window “we’d like to add some extra quality” “we need some extra pace in the team” “we’re missing some quality in the final third” “ we lacked the quality to break them down” – all phrases we hear every day in football at every level but on this blog for example that is translated into he’s telling the players they are not good enough – funny that doesn’t seem to apply elsewhere?
BR ended in a poor place no doubt – my view is he was completely demotivated by what surrounded him, what he saw coming (looks correct on that score) and by the internal politics of Celtic – would you be keen to sign a contract extension in those circumstances? Some players in that period looked less motivated (unlike now where it is all of them!) and this was also landed at his door however what we know now is that several had wanted away and never got it and several were extremely disappointed, including the captain, that new recruits were not the first team standard expected to try and kick the team on – go figure.
BR wanted progress and a serious football dept with policy for growth whereas the board wanted shortcuts, no risk and punts in the hope of catching few gems along the way – how’s that working out for us?
As I’ve mentioned previously BR did not end well however I think it’s clear this was not of one man’s making and a mix of poor relationships, mixed priorities and ambitions and some serious shit stirring got us to that place and as we look at where we are now there are many people who should consider their position, there actions and their commentary these last six months.
Where we go now I don’t have the energy for now but for sure I have zero confidence in those at the top of the Celtic tree – none

In the clear, cold light of a crisp January morning… We saw a repeat of the Wilfried Nancy limitation yesterday – he doesn’t know what to do once the opposition manager adapts to the latest version of his Bonkersball approach.
Perhaps the defining characteristic of Bonkersball is that it is a defence-free system, unique in the game, and enjoyed by supporters of every opposition club that his team collapses in front of.
To date, the following SPFL managers have taught him a lesson, but he has learned nothing from them:
Derek McInness
Stevie Robinson
Jim Goodwin
Jens Berthel Askou
Danny Rohl
To be fair, Derek has won the League Cup for which he got Manager of the Year in 2013/14 while Stevie obviously had League Cup winning potential, it just took Wilf to bring it out.
Jens was the manager of the year in the Faroe Islands in 2020 having won the Faroe Islands Premier League and Cup double, while Jim won the Championship with Dundee Utd a couple of years ago.
Danny Rohl is a young coach with good development experience behind him, and managed to take Sheffield Wednesday to 12th place in the Championship last season, having avoided relegation with them in his first season.
(We’ll ignore the dull yin handed down by Gian Gasperini, it could happen to anyone.)
On the plus side, he beat bottom of the league Livingston (after losing 2 goals in the first 10 minutes) and perennially pish Aberdeen (with 2 late goals against 10 men).
Point being… Bro Wilf has but one trick, and when it’s rumbled so is he. And he’s been rumbled by the flotsam and jetsam of the football management world. He has no business at Celtic.
That’s a shame, but there you are.

Seems to me that fundamentally we are short handed at the back and as a game stretches or we’re put under any pressure, we have limited cover, mistakes lead to goals. In summary , 3 at the back problem with ordinary players.
We are also doing a lot of running rather than the ball doing the work.
No amount of training time or transfers will fix this.
I’ve seen enough now at games where you get to see the full picture that there is no way forward with this manager.
I get the Board may not want to sack him after getting beaten by the Hun but surely it’s a matter of time.

If we think things are bad now , wait until the next round of games if he’s still here.
At the minute every team we play is coming up against WN’s immutable system for the first time.
It’s taking most of the opposition managers no more than 45 minutes to tweak their own set up to counter it and , in most cases, blow it apart.
God help us when the next round of games comes around and those managers know how to overcome his system before the game even starts.
A couple of months back the Israeli’s were talking about building some sort of place/camp in the Saini desert if I recall correctly to house 600K Palestinians, now I was never very good at maths but given there was 2.4 million people living in Gaza a while back, and they want to house 600K outwith Gaza, you do the maths……….

You can’t honestly believe that. His system will never work. The personnel definitely aren’t helping, but his formation is killing us and that won’t change with new players.
It is my belief that the Celtic Board still plan to give Wilfried Nancy two transfer windows to turn this situation around. Whether that comes to pass if the calamitous results and performances continue or action by the Celtic support forces change remains to be seen but their intention is to give him two windows.
I’ll be making my own small protest by not attending another home game until he’s gone. Some might say that’s daft because they’ve got my money and won’t care but if my boycott is replicated by 20-30k others then we will soon see change because it will be an indication of what’s going to happen at season ticket renewal time.
I seriously think that Auchinleck could cause the biggest Cup upset since football began when they meet us in two weeks time. Maybe that’s what it’ll take.

I said months ago we were on the brink and the usual suspects sneered we have now simply sunk to all time low.
I have no more to say as everyone sane or rational enough already has it just simply is disgusting what this shower have done with our club.
In life you find yourself amongst givers and takers we the lifeblood of the club are the givers and these unfit pretending to run our club whilst we have tens of our millions don’t habe any plans or business acumen to reinvest and spend it to ensure it makes us better sit back and take there large salary’s for doing absolutely nothing.
Totally and utterly mediocre and should all resign immediately.

With respect (honestly) , you’re addressing the wrong problem. His job is to win football games with the squad of players available NOT to implement his system. No one really gives a monkeys about the system as long as it works.
As a club we have previous from moving from boring football (WGS) to a more exciting brand of football (Tony Mowbray). How did that end up ? Tony decided to play the Celtic way which involved emptying the midfield, exposing our centre halves and sort of ruining our captains Celtic career, Stephen McManus ( who is back in the building).
Wilfried is Tony on steroids and he will probably ruin Trusty , Scalesy and Ralston if this keeps going much longer.
The fact that our Board ( or Dermot) can sanction this managerial change is appalling; they’ve got lots of time to think about this, it’s their job, we’re just fans !
Wilfrieds system with the players in our price bracket is fundamentally flawed and cannot survive on average 60 minutes of professional football. He will turn us into a Win , Draw, Lose and repeat outfit.
It’s pretty clear from my vantage point in the North Stand but up til now the Board ( Dermot) are seeing things differently. Rumour ( I know, I know ) was that the NEDs ( except Dermot) were 100% for sacking Wilf at the last Board meeting but funnily enough everyone else was supportive.
No ill will towards Wilfried , he’s just in the wrong movie implementing HIS system in the SPL.
From the games I’ve attended this season we still have the best players in the league but we lack depth , under no circumstances can we let Wilfried loose with the contingency money.

Nancy hasn’t a clue on opposition tactics he is stir unaware the put diamanté into the midfield making 3 and controlled the game this allowed them to press higher and our useless back 3 caved in , sell engels hatate and mccowan tomorrow they are gutless and poor footballers

Can’t bear to scroll back. I called the guy a clown more than a week ago and was called out for it. That description now slanders clowns. He has to go, and go now, giving someone a chance to bring in a couple of players during the window and restore morale. With injured players to come back there is a lot to be hopeful about.
And for any lurking huns on here – we are at our nadir but still above you, and with a decent coach the league is still ours. We just wanted to give you a bit of hope so that we can enjoy your disappointment once again in May.

All it needed was a bit of ambition to build on our CL progress of last season. A striker, goalscoring winger and goalscoring midfielder to replace what we had lost and we’d probably be looking at the play-off round again. Wouldn’t even have needed much of a net spend.
But no, we took an – ahem – “different” path.
Be tragic if it hadn’t been so predictable.
We have needed a striker and a back uo striker for over a year but we brought in after a few transfer window an unfit injury prone right back beggars belive and self sabotage in every area of our club you really couldn’t make this 💩up.

Just a puzzler for me… our players seem to be getting off Scot free in the analytical rancour and recrim… (aside from he’s shite and he’s shite anaw proclamations).
Players in any team are used to playing in and changing from a series of formations and line-ups (it’s called being a professional footballer) and they all seemed to have no issues playing to Wilf’s plan in the first half; and playing it with no little panache.
So they were playing (to WN’s plan) with their tails up in the first 45. creating chances aplenty yet wasteful beyond belief and tolerance at the same time – just as we often were in BRs side (missing a striker, anyone??)
And yet, the same players who’d just stylishly bossed the huns came out from their bovril and oranges with low energy and commitment in the second. And I cant believe this was all down to Rohh’s tactical ploy to introduce yon Dirty Diomande into the fray. Where was the same snap and swagger that our team had displayed in the earlier part of the game? Where was the cocky fluency that had marked the way they played the first ?
Sure; I get that Wilf seems unlikeable to unbelievable for many of us and yes, he should have desisted from changing too much all at once. But fugg; how can players’ collective performances fall off a cliff so much in terms of game smarts and, basic fight, to let a workaday hun 11 win by two clear gifted goals ? Guys like Daizen and Reo look to be dialling it in for eg).
But if the squad is ‘Le Guening’ Mr Wilf, why did they play so sweetly in the first half ?
We hear of and know all about Wilf’s flaws, but don’t these model pros share some of the culpability (and btw, the abuse they were getting at game’s end looked very Ibroxian to the casual observer) ?
It’s patently a ‘mental’ situation to behold.
I don’t see Nancy going anywhere. This board can’t scratch their arse without permission from the moustached one. And Desmond doesn’t care what fans think. He’s right and we’re wrong.
In my opinion the state the club is the spiteful act of a narcisist and like all narcisists they are the worst kinds of personality disorder, who if they cannot get everything their way the will metaphorically burn the whole place down, unfortunately in some cases this is not metaphorical , so the whole support is being punished by giving us the worst possible manager coaches, executives and team.
